Vivek G. Ramaswamy, a conservative entrepreneur, author, and activist, announced that he will run for the Republican nomination for president in 2024. He made the announcement during an interview with Tucker Carlson on Fox News on Tuesday evening.

Ramaswamy will be trying to overcome low name recognition in a primary race already dominated by former President Donald Trump, former Ambassador and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, and possibly Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

He founded the biopharmaceutical company Roivant Sciences in 2014 and is the author of “Woke, Inc.: Inside Corporate America’s Social Justice Scam,” and “Nation of Victims: Identity Politics, the Death of Merit, and the Path Back to Excellence.”

Over the past few years he has become a champion against woke-focused capitalism, environmental, social, and governance movements in corporations, big tech censorship, and critical race theory.

Ramaswamy, a 37-year-old son of immigrants from India, was born in 1985 in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he was valedictorian of his high school graduating class. He graduated from Harvard with a bachelor’s degree in biology and later earned a law degree from Yale Law School. He is the first Republican millennial candidate for president for 2024. Like Trump in 2016, Ramaswamy has no prior experience in elected office.

“We are in the middle of this national identity crisis, Tucker, where we have celebrated our differences for so long that we forgot all the ways we are really just the same as Americans bound by a common set of ideals that set this nation into motion 250 years ago,” he told Carlson. “”I think we need to put ‘merit’ back into ‘America’ in every spirit of our lives,” continued Ramaswamy, who said he will end affirmative action in “every sphere of American life.”

He launched his first campaign video at about the same time he gave his interview to Carlson. In it, he says he believes in merit, free speech, American exceptionalism, and accountability.

  1. This is Trumps best hope for the nomination. Another clown car stuffed full of people who will never win.

The GOP just refuses to learn from its mistakes.

    • Recommend his book “Woke Inc.”
      .
Neither lecture nor jeremiad, it’s concise, factual, thoroughly referenced, and semi-autobiographical.

Diametrically opposite of Biden Inc in every way.

  2. I am very much looking forward to hearing much more about and from this young man.
I don’t know if he has a snowball’s chance in hell of winning the nomination, but even if he doesn’t, I believe that he will change the national conversation, and for the better.

Keep us updated on this young man, Suzanne, and let us know where we can send a donation to his campaign (a mailing address, I do not send money online).

  3. I’ve heard him discuss several issues (ESG for one) on the Glenn Beck show. Interesting fellow: If nothing else, he will inject some good ideas into conversations around the water cooler/coffee pot; maybe the dinner table, too.

  4. He appears quite frequently on FOX Business. When you hear this man speak, you know you are not listening to a dummy. He’s brilliant and convincingly a solid conservative. Does he have enough training in the ways of the world to duke it out with Xi Jinping… Perhaps he should be seasoned in the next Republican Administration as Secretary of Treasury or Commerce to prepare him for a matchup with XI.
