Tim Barto: Calling evil for what it is

Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” -Genesis 12:1-3

World War III seems to be on the near horizon and the apocalypse can’t be too far behind, so it’s high time to recognize and call out evil for what it is.

It’s not just Taylor Swift’s endless Eras tour, or the capitulation of the National League to the designated hitter rule, or even people who drive slowly in the left lane during the Glenn Highway’s morning commute. Heinous as those are, there are even darker and more sinister movements on display.

On Oct. 7, hate-fueled terrorists attacked Israel, brutally killing, maiming, raping, and kidnapping any Jews they came across:  soldiers, police officers, and civilians including women, children, and the elderly. The bodies of murdered young women were stripped and paraded through the streets. It was pure, unadulterated evil that deserves condemnation by all civilized people.

And yet, there are people who not only decline to condemn the attacks, but they also justify them. Demonstrators on the campuses of indoctrination centers that formerly served as colleges and universities are placing all the blame on Israel itself and condemning any response on the part of the Israelis, save capitulation. A Cornell professor publicly professed the exhilaration and excitement he felt at the massacre, and members of the United States Congress. Sure, he tried to walk back his words but the passion with which he spoke them fully demonstrated his full colors.

The modern state of Israel was formed in 1948, almost exactly three years after the surrender of Nazi Germany and the subsequent disclosures of what occurred during the Holocaust. The phrase “Never Again” was – and still is – a defiant cry to never allow the persecution of Jewish people to go unanswered. And yet, persecution continues and shouts proclaiming death to Israel/Zionists/Jews celebrate that persecution.

How does a human being not condemn the intentional murder, rape, and kidnapping of other people? Evil.

It’s the same thing that gives adults justification to not only allow, but encourage, men to dress like oversexualized women and gyrate in front of children, and then provide dollar bills to those children so they can reward the drag queens.

Evil is what justifies the mutilation of a child’s body by drugs and surgery so that child can further pretend they are a member of the opposite sex.

Evil provides the inspiration for a person to walk into a Maine bowling alley and indiscriminately shoot people (as was done a week ago) or into a Tennessee school and discriminately shoot people (as was done back in March). And it allows people to count that Tennessee shooter as one of the actual victims of the shooting because the shooter was “transgender” and was “misgendered” by reporters who referred to the shooter by her biological sex.

Evil empowers school officials to arrogantly withhold important mental health information about children from those children’s parents.

Evil provides justification for people to tear down posters of children who are missing or murdered at the hand of Hamas.

So, is it evil that encourages self-proclaimed LGBTQ+ members to throw their support behind Hamas and other Muslims who not only vow to eliminate Israel but also throw LGBTQ+ people off rooftops? No, that’s blatant ignorance. Or just plain stupidity.

Which is not to downplay the proliferation of ignorance and stupidity in American culture. They’re alive and well, those pathogens that proliferate the disease of evil; the gateway drugs that eventually lead a deadly path to the hard stuff. All one needs to do is check out some of the countless man-on-the-street videos that are out there. You’ll see American adults who don’t know how many states there are, or which countries border the United States. But ask the same people to name the Kardashian sisters and they answer immediately, correctly, and with pride. One series of such videos even reveals a gaggle of students from Harvard University, who are the alleged cream of the academic crop, who were routinely stumped by some pretty basic knowledge questions, including one sure to sadden MRAK readers: What is the largest U.S. state in area?

But let’s get back to evil. During its spree of terror, Hamas kidnapped over 200 people, taking them back to Gaza as hostages. If the hostages are killed as Israel fights to for their survival while ridding the world of the evil that is Hamas, the hostage takers will blame Israel and, most unfortunately, gain further sympathy from their Arab brethren . . . as well as those folks described in the preceding paragraph. Perhaps even worse (although rating levels of evil is as frustrating as it is absurd), Hamas will allow the Palestinians living in Gaza to be killed as well, all to further their claim that Israel is the one acting evil.

It’s typically been easy to point at the Nazis and call them evil, but now we are actually hearing the horrid refrains of the Third Reich to kill the Jews! The hard left, ironically including Antifa, loves to label people who disagree with them as fascists, but now it is becoming ever clearer who is acting like and aligning with the fascists.

It is time – past time, actually – to call evil for what it is.

  1. Amen Tim!!! Wow you said all of what I have thought all along! The Evil one is alive and well, especially with the LGBTQ.
Now more than ever, people need to understand what is really going on.
The end is near, we are in end times.
Embrace the Lord, because this world has gone to the devil dogs running the show.
Are you on the side of Good? Or the Devil?
As for me and MY HOUSE, I will serve the Lord!

  2. Words from a bible published in 1876:

“Palestine, which comprehends the ancient country of Canaan, and was occupied by nine tribes of Israel, has experienced many and severe revolutions; the extreme fertility of the country, and its many advantages and happy situation, induced the neighbouring and powerful kingdoms to attempt its subjection: most of them succeeded in reducing to obedience and slavery the peaceable inhabitants: the Persians, Saracens, Syrians, and Romans, have alternately been masters for a time, and then obliged to yield to superior force: they treated the conquered to the utmost barbarity, and committed the greatest devastation and slaughter; not even sparing old or young, women or helpless children. Thus it continued changing its ferocious masters, until, in the twelfth century, the Turks, taking Cesarea, the whole country fell into their possession; and has continued under their power ever since. The innumerable scenes of blood and desolation exhibited in this country, have changed it from that happy, fruitful, prosperous state, so beautifully described in Deuteronomy, to an almost uninhabited desert, and heap of ruins: few traces of its ancient splendour remain; and confusion and doubt hang over all the researches of the inquirer.
The present masters exercise unlimited and tyrannical authority over their slaves, in Palestine, keeping the miserable inhabitants in the utmost subjection; governing them by Caliphs and Bashaws, with rods of iron; and holding them in the most deplorable ignorance and superstition.”

Seems like not much has changed.

Evil is also subjugating Palestine, once again to theft, destruction, and death. Palestinians were historically muslims, jews, and christians. Hamas and their ways and means are worthy of swift destruction, and so are those who seek to steal the homeland of any people for any purpose. Indiscriminately killing women and children is not acceptable, on behalf of ANY party.

  3. What an oversimplification of an extremely complex series of issues. Yes, Hamas committed blatant acts of terrorism against civilians. Yes, Israel has suppressed Palestinians for decades. Yes, Israel is now overwhelmingly killing civilians in their continued operation to “end Hamas”. How much retribution and blood will it take to satisfy Israel? Hamas is a wretched organization and their leadership should be held to account, but how come it’s not “evil” to support the mass bombing and murders of civilians? Whether they be Israeli or Palestinian? And now the author wants to conflate the mass murder we’ve been witnessing for weeks in the mideast with the LGTBQ community or paint a broad brush that all liberals are equally evil. Where’s the finger pointing at conservatives who want to stop funding to Israel or support for Ukraine? This is selective, cherry picking blogging at its worst.

    • Because what you claim is not happening the way you want to believe it is.

This issue is only complicated to you because of your raging moral relativism. If you examined the issue honestly it would be simple for you, too.

      • What’s so simple, TMA? Jews suffered through the holocaust and ultimately created Israel through annexation and held it via force. Seems legit that they wanted their own homeland after thousands of years of persecution and the events of the 1940s; but they displaced people who were already living there. Over the years they’ve continued the oppression, made peace, and then let the orthodox run wild expanding settlements. Over 2million Palestinians are packed into Gaza, one of the densest places on earth. A bunch of a-hole Palestinians (representing a minority of Gazans) terrorize and murder over 1,200 people in Israel less than a month ago. Hamas isn’t a freedom fighting organization and I believe they are a horrible representation of Gazans, but they have the political power and chose this route. Now Israel is basically indiscriminately killing civilians—like two days of bombing a refugee settlement killing untold numbers, all to kill two Hamas planners.

How is this relavitism? As you are the annointed one at MRAK, please enlighten me on what I’m missing. Please explain how one sides acts are justifiable and the other sides acts are not. Please tell me who’s murder I’m supposed to be rooting for. Please tell me how simple this situation is and why one side can claim the moral high ground. And finally, please enlighten all of us as to what the solution is.

        • Larsen,
You do realize that Hamas is using Palestinians as human shields and that Palestinians overwhelmingly support Hamas, right? You should be angry at Hamas and at their fellow Palestinians for what they have done and what they are doing.

Ghazi Hamad, a member of Hamas’s political bureau recently said “Will we have to pay a price? Yes, and we are ready to pay it. We are called a nation of martyrs, and we are proud to sacrifice martyrs.”

Hamas has, as part of their stated goals to total and complete annihilation of Israel.

Hamad said that Israel’s existence is “illogical” and that it must be wiped off all “Palestinian lands,” When asked whether this meant the complete annihilation of Israel, Hamad replied: “Yes, of course.”
Speaking of the October 7th massacre Hamad said “We must teach Israel a lesson, and we will do it twice and three times. The Al-Aqsa Deluge [the name Hamas gave its October 7 onslaught] is just the first time, and there will be a second, a third, a fourth,”

Hamad now says he wants a cease fire “So I think we are ready now to have complete compromise, complete a deal, in order to receive all the hostages, either military or civilians.” When asked how he could be calling for a cease-fire while also pledging to keep attacking Israel, Hamad replied: “What do you want us to do? To stop?”

    • Fact – Israel has not suppressed Palestinians, the have provided the with food, electrucity, water all free if charge because they have chosen not to control themselves in childbearing(not abortion, but self-control for the good of their people) within the tiny area of Gaza. Hamas is evil, for sure and Israel has the right to respond and protect her people. I doubt the current administration would do that for you. Just a thought.

  4. I sure as hell don’t equate the horror brought by Hamas with LGBT or any of the other spooks that haunt you. You diminish your argument and sound shrieky by doing so.

The hideousness of a terrorist entity can be measured by the number of murdered, tortured, neglected innocent civilians. In that respect Israel and Hamas are neck and neck.

    • Really?

Please document the last time Israel beheaded babies. Cut a baby out of a pregnant woman and killed it in front of her. Tossed babies into ovens. Engaged in systematic, brutal raping of girls.

Israel can and has documented this was done by hamas. Hamas documented it as well by live streaming their atrocities.

      • Please explain how many Palestinians need to be killed to satisfy moral outrage. Never mind that Hamas committed an insane amount of atrocities, much of the activity you cite has been discredited as either intentionally misleading information (does truth matter) or confusion and bad reporting from the fog of the first few days.

        • Israel is not satisfying a moral outrage. It’s getting rid of a group of savages that have sworn to remove Israel, and Jews, from the planet. Don’t be duped. You’re next.

      • MA – please source your claim that babies were beheaded on Oct. 7th in Israel. Even Short Stairs Biden & the IDF have walked that allegation back (Yahoo News). There were and are enough atrocities on both sides without having to make them up.

  5. Barto, like all believers in the monotheistic religions is not concerned or worried about a potential apocalypse. Why? Because buried not so deep in all of these religions is a secret death wish; a desire for this world to end, for this veil of tears to be no more. The three Abrahamic religions are all different flavors of the same death cult. Not only do they not fear an end of days, they wish for it. That’s why they are a direct threat to modern civilization.

    • The extreme interest and fetishization of Israel by Christian evangelicals is exactly because of this—the belief that Israel must exist to bring about the second coming. Some of those orthodox true believers really are motivated to bring about war in the Mideast because they think that will bring about the prophecies (and their salvation). God help the rest of us.

    • “Woe to you who long for the Day of the Lord.” “That day will be darkness, not light.” (Amos 5:18)
While we see that Day approaching, Biblically literate people do not wish for it – many people we know will suffer during the times of judgment, and many will go to that place no one wants to talk about – hell.
And no, cman, I don’t fear it for me and my wife, but for the many – and not because of a death wish, but because we believe the Lord will take us off the Earth before things get really bad.

    • cman – I believe the term for our own domestic brand of crazies is Zionist Christians. In a nutshell their philosophy consists of Jews must occupy Israel so that the Arabs can kill them all, then true Christians will ascend to Heaven in the Rapture. The basis for this belief is the Scofield Bible interpretations concocted by convicted Felon Cyrus Scofield in the 1880’s. And I agree with you, they are an existential threat to the rest of us.

    • You don’t like religion because it is a celebration of the individual and LIFE! An individual relationship with God is unassailable by worldly doctrine and demands independent thought. Since you clearly don’t care to know a lot, the apocalypse as described Revelations isn’t the end of the world. It is symbolic for the ultimate battle of good vs evil and at the end the world as we know it will have changed.
Let’s get to your assertion of a death cult.
Communists killed over a 100 million people in the name of their cause. Communism is a fanatical religion.
Millions of individuals have been snuffed out by abortion.
In Canada 4% of their deaths are now euthanasia deaths.
The LGBT crowd generally doesn’t procreate, so they have to demand access to other people’s kids in order to raise them in their image…..
You claim the moral high ground, but in reality you have no leg to stand on.

      • You rightly identify the USSR as a religious state. Stalin himself was educated in a Georgian seminary. It was a pseudo-religious state borrowing from religious orthodoxy and therefore not really different from any other religion. Thank you for supporting my thesis.

The very basis of the Christian religion is vicarious redemption through human sacrifice; the idea that our sins can be forgiven by the murder of another human being. You can call that many things, but what you cannot call it is a celebration of life. It’s immoral and based on bronze age beliefs of ancient Judaism and the ritual of a scapegoat. Revelation foretells of the end of the world as we know it, the only existence we know actually exists. All you have to go on is faith which you’re perfectly welcome to have, but it should have no role in the political or social goings on in the real world. Keep your illusions private.

        • “Keep your illusions private” okay then I demand the same of you? For instance your illusion that a man can be a woman….
Religion has everything to do with political and social attitudes. It provides moral clarity, guidance and an understanding for the sanctity of life, which you in your response so cavalierly ignored.
I understand that the religious understanding of Jesus is difficult. Much is based on the Old Testament without which none of this makes sense. I suppose the most direct answer would be a self-sacrifice so mankind may live and know God.
Communism is not a religion in the biblical sense of the word, but more a fanatical cult based on the tyrant du-jour, easily manipulated and fickle.

          • When exactly did I ever say a man could be a woman? That idea is totally delusional and I’ve never and would never subscribe to such silliness. Religion does not provide moral clarity or guidance when say, the bible states that gay people should be stoned to death or anyone working on the sabbath should be killed or that slaves should obey their master as they would obey god. That is not morality. Morality is innate in all humans and we could not have evolved to our present state if we didn’t have an innate sense of right and wrong. It doesn’t come to us in tablet form, ten at a time.

          • Interesting cman, so you believe that each human has an innate sense of right and wrong. The question is then, why is there crime and evil in this world at all? If all KNOW what is right and wrong all should be well. Yet the problem as it exists is that each individual bases their sense of “right and wrong” solely on themselves, as the center of their universe. No societal big picture there.
It is telling that you cherry pick from the Old testament and completely ignore the new one, after lamenting Jesus sacrifice as inhumane. Sorry can’t have it both ways. Religion does give moral clarity (do not murder, don’t be jealous, don’t lie, respect others) It is a big picture guidance for more than just yourself.

        • “And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.” Matt. 24:14.

I wonder, is there any legal record of this witnessing having happened?

  6. I would think the American leftists and liberals would see HAMAs as the evil it is, after they seen the party goers attended the Nova Rave party(music festival in the desert) were liberal Jews. I watched the news clips of the event and the pictures of the dead, those were young adult liberals at a party will there was rave music, drugs, nudity, sex, and a giant gold encrested Buddha right in the center of it all. Just like the American 1960s and seventies Woodstock concert.

When I saw the deceased faces I saw my Anchorage liberal and leftist neighbors faces in them. It would be the kind of party liberals here would had attended. Not for me, the event was idolatrous. Early this morning the video clips made me think more about my life and child, I told her we must good to one another. We must follow God, we don’t know when is our last day. If we faced persecution like this liberal young adult Jews and liberal tourists did, you don’t want to die doing something you shouldn’t be doing like drugs, sex, and idol worshipping a giant gold encrested Buddha.

Its interesting thought provoking HAMAs choose that festival’s day to begin its slaughter and attack against Isreal. Liberals need to realize they are just as much a target as those who are conservatives, orthodox, or far right to the terrorists. That’s the only good thing I see about terrorists the crowd they have no discrimination to their enemies from the liberal to the conservative we all receive same equal punishment and inflicted pain. If all those pro-Palestine groups could smarten up they be fighting for Isreal’s support, cause we be next.

    • Jen, it sounds like you’re ready to lead a Band of Believers to slaughter the evil Anchorage leftists and gays. You are a great Christian, a shining beacon on a hill.

  7. After reading this article, unfortunately, I felt nonplussed; as if a surface description of evil acts can be equated with regard to the complexity of historical and socioeconomic issues within Israel. Until we can dissect out those factors, the problem solvers and level-headed peacemaker get caught up in red herrings, of immediate obfuscation with of any mention of the trigger of ‘antisemitism ‘.

    • One of the things I enjoy when you post is how easily you expose yourself.

You are nowhere as clever as you think yourself to be. Nor as intelligent as you try to pass yourself off as.

  8. America was founded on the greatest holocaust – genocide against the American Indians which was much more horrendous than the Jewish holocaust. Israel created Hamas to begin with, and conveniently left their borders open on that day only for Hamas to enter. Israel’s high technology would have warned them way ahead of time. Just like the sacrificing of people in 911 in order to get a war going, the Zionist rulers sacrificed their own people for an excuse to attack Gaza. Just another land grab. I don’t believe any of their lies.

    • Americas relationship with Native Americans not the peoples experiences have nothing to do with Isreal nor can be adequately compared to the holocaust taken place across Europe and Russia. native Americans did suffer at the changes coming westward expansion however we didn’t suffer as bad as those who experienced the holocaust. An admirable quality of our Jewish holocaust survivors have is Native Americans could and still can learn is our Jewish neighbors didn’t feel sorry for themselves and pass on generational trauma onto their descendants. When they were liberated they got back to life. Native peoples and all other Americans can develop not to allow themselves be controlled by our past nor the bad actors around us to make ourselves determine to press forward taking care of the next generation who didn’t experience what we had experienced so they can learn to be successful watching their parents and grandparents living their lives going to work, going to school, managing money wisely and sensibly, being faithful to God and our community which is our state and country.

  9. There are things in this mess I find fascinating. I don’t like them, but still find them fascinating.

When people show you who they are, believe them.

1-The party of peace and inclusion (democrats) is anything but.

2-The support the party of peace and inclusion promised the Jews is a lie.

3-Jews across America are finding out just how much “progressives” really hate them.

4-As practiced by the mainstream (not the bulk, the mainstream) of Bush 43’s “religion of peace” is anything but.

  10. I thought the publisher, author and readers like to read this through Amir Tsarfati’s telegram.

ALL EUROPEAN LIFE DIED IN AUSCHWITZ
    ******************************
By Sebastian Vivar Rodriguez – Spanish Writer, November 21, 2004.

“I walked down the street in Barcelona, and suddenly discovered a terrible truth – Europe died in Auschwitz.
We killed six million Jews and replaced them with 20 million Muslims.
In Auschwitz we burned a culture, thought, creativity, talent. We destroyed the chosen people, truly chosen, because they produced great and wonderful people who changed the world.
The contribution of this people is felt in all areas of life: science, art, international trade, and above all, as the conscience of the world. These are the people we burned.
And under the pretence of tolerance, and because we wanted to prove to ourselves that we were cured of the disease of racism, we opened our gates to 20 million Muslims, who brought us stupidity and ignorance, religious extremism and lack of tolerance, crime and poverty due to an unwillingness to work and support their families with pride.
They have turned our beautiful Spanish cities into the third world, drowning in filth and crime.
Shut up in the apartments they receive free from the government, they plan the murder and destruction of their naive hosts.
And thus, in our misery, we have exchanged culture for fanatical hatred, creative skill for destructive skill, intelligence for backwardness and superstition.
We have exchanged the pursuit of peace of the Jews of Europe and their talent for hoping for a better future for their children, their determined clinging to life because life is holy, for those who pursue death, for people consumed by the desire for death for themselves and others, for our children and theirs.
What a terrible mistake was made by miserable Europe.

    * This is a free translation of an article reportedly first published in a Spanish newspaper. The author’s name appears to be a pseudonym, apparently to avoid attack by antisemites.“
