Washington Rep. Marie Glusenkamp Perez, who is co-chair with Alaska Rep. Mary Peltola of the “Blue Dog Democrat Caucus,” won her primary and will be in a rematch with Republican Joe Kent, who she beat in 2022 for Washington’ 3rd Congressional District.

Glusenkamp said earlier this year the Blue Dog Democrats are actually “rural Antifa” group. Antifa is a radical anarchist movement that uses violence, vandalism, and chaos in what they say is an anti-fascist cause.

In Washington state’s open primary system on Tuesday, Glusenkamp received 47% of the vote, with Kent getting 38% and another Republican candidate, Camas City Councilmember Leslie Lewallen, getting 12%. An independent candidate, John Saulie-Rohman, got 3%.

Kent lost to Glusenkamp in 2022 by just 2,629 votes. But this time, if Lewallen’s conservative votes go to Kent, he may be able to pull out the win. A former Green Beret, he has the endorsement of Donald Trump, while Glusenkamp is now discredited as rural Antifa.

Glusenkamp and Peltola came into office the same year and their elections caused a shift that meant every single congressional district touching the Pacific Ocean was represented by Democrats. Previously, these last two West coast seats had been the Republican holdouts.

In other primaries around the country, a member of the radical “Squad,” Rep. Cori Bush, D-Mo., was defeated in St. Louis, Missouri, the second Squad member to lose a Democrat primary so far this year. The other Squad member who won’t be returning to Congress is Rep. Jamaal Bowman of Bronx, New York.

Bowman became famous for pulling a fire alarm to prevent Congress from voting.

Bush was challenged by St. Louis prosecuting attorney Wesley Bell, who was seen as more moderate, in a contest that became the second-mot expensive House primary in U.S. history, after Bowman’s race.

Bush, just nine days after the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel on Oct. 7, became the first congressional representative to call for a cease-fire. She has since used her bully pulpit to accuse Israel of genocide.

Members of the Squad who have survived their primaries include Democrats Rep. Summer Lee of Pennsylvania. and Rep. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan.; Minnesota Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn. will face Democrat Don Samuels in next week’s primary and is considered to be at risk.

  1. Why does the Republicans party keep shooting themselves by having two running in the same race and splitting the ticket ? The dumbocrats have one in the race and put everything behind them.

  2. Veracity, it’s not the Republican Party doing this. It’s the voters. They’re stupid, and there is no cure. They won’t vote for a “Begich”, they won’t rank the red, they won’t turn out for local elections and they won’t do the work to vett candidates for themselves. Because they’re STUPID. And they’re LAZY. And they’re never going to change because Donald trump is going to save them. Good f-ing luck with that.
