I have known Dan Sullivan for nearly 20 years, long before he first ran for office. I watched him serve Alaska as attorney general and commissioner of the Department of Natural Resources, and I saw early on that he had the experience, energy and commitment to take on greater responsibilities.
What has always stood out to me is that Dan shows up. He travels across Alaska, walks in the parades, meets people face to face and listens. His wife, Julie, is often at his side, bringing warmth and grace to every community they visit. Their partnership says a great deal about the man.
Dan also delivers. He understands that Alaska’s future depends on responsible resource development and affordable energy. In the Senate, he has fought to open ANWR, advance the Willow project, require lease sales in the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska and Cook Inlet, strengthen Alaska’s military role and build America’s Coast Guard and icebreaker fleet. Those are not just talking points. They mean jobs, security and opportunity for Alaskans.
Just as important, his office responds when people need help. On at least three occasions, I have reached out on behalf of constituents and received phenomenal assistance. His team, led by Chief of Staff Larry Burton, treated each matter seriously and worked to solve the problem.
I also appreciated Dan’s effort to give Alaskans a meaningful voice in reviewing federal judicial candidates. His development of a advisory board to vet judicial candidates was bold, thoughtful and rooted in respect for our state.
I have supported Dan since his first campaign in 2014 because I know his character and his record. This Senate seat is critical to Alaska’s future. Dan Sullivan has earned our support, and Alaskans need to turn out and vote.
