A growing number of American voters are expressing deep skepticism toward public opinion polls following the 2024 presidential election, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national survey. The poll shows that just 10% of likely US voters say they have “a lot” of trust in polls sponsored by major media outlets, while more than half say they have little to no trust in them.
The findings come in the wake of widespread polling failures ahead of the 2024 election, where most major polls projected a win for Democrat Kamala Harris. In contrast, Rasmussen Reports stood out as one of the few pollsters to correctly predict a victory for Republican Donald Trump.
The survey, conducted over three days last week among 1,083 likely voters via telephone and online interviews, asked three questions relating to trust in media-sponsored polling and the perceived motivations behind inaccurate predictions.
When asked how much trust they have in polls from TV networks and other major media organizations, 34% of respondents said they had “not very much” trust, and 17% said they had “no trust at all.” Another 33% indicated they had “some” trust, while only 10% expressed high confidence in such polls.
The survey also probed deeper into public skepticism, with 59% of respondents saying it is at least somewhat likely that many public pollsters adjust their results to fit media political narratives. A significant portion believes these polls may have been used to influence public perception rather than reflect it.
In a particularly pointed question, voters were asked which scenario they found more believable: That some pollsters were deliberately adjusting their numbers to support Kamala Harris, or that most pollsters simply lack the ability to accurately predict elections.
A plurality agreed with the former, suggesting a widespread perception that polling may have been weaponized for political ends during the campaign.
The Harris campaign, after the election, acknowledged that their internal data never showed her leading Trump, contradicting public polling that frequently put her ahead. This discrepancy has only fueled voter suspicion and eroded trust in the polling industry.
With the 2024 election still fresh in voters’ minds, these numbers signal a credibility crisis for mainstream pollsters.
Rasmussen Reports voters if they think the checks and balances of the US Constitution are still working. In the responses, nearly 75% of Democrats said they believe President Donald Trump is a “fascist” dictator.

The losers of society will always find something or someone to blame for their failed outcome.
The winners (LEADERS) take responsibility for their failures and learn from them.

Of course polls are weaponized. The mainstream media is going full doom and gloom on Trump’s tariffs and the deportations. They say the polls show Trumps approval rating at historic lows. Nothing said about the polling company or who they contact.
Rich Baris, Rasmussen, and Atlas are the only polls I follow.
Not because I agree with their conclusions. But because they are accurate on the only day that matters – election day. And have been for many cycles.
Look at other polls. How did they do with election day? Look at the results- and the results for several cycles. They are propaganda because they are so off and so off in one direction. Consistently.

I trust few pollsters on political issues. I trust ZERO polls that are done by ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC or CNN. They all had Trump losing the last election. Well, what do you know?

Very old news. It has been known for a very long that polls mean nothing. I can go to a polling company and pay them to come up with literally any result I want. It’s not even illegal.

Media polls are very accurate . They all predicted a Harris win. Her followers still believe DJT cheated and polls were correct . Nobody has ever polled me . I dislike Chinese goods as much as i dislike China . No effect on me what so ever . I don’t put Chinese parts on my pickups as they don’t fit and I am sure as hell not putting one on my plane . I would never knowingly eat food of any kind produced in China . I’ve never seen a Chinese car or a Chinese built airliner ?
One commentator I have become quite impressed with is Tyrus, often featured on the Greg Gutfeld Show on Fox News. It was probably back in October, the cast was discussing the upcoming election, and I believe there was some video of Kamala Harris that they were also reviewing. At that time, the polls had the election close or Harris ahead. I remember Tyrus was responding to some revelation that Harris stated and as he was discussing that, he suddenly stopped for a moment and blurted out, “There is no way this race is close.”
He stated what we were all thinking. Yet in the back of our minds there is this observation, if not a fear, of Democrats, that they have this innate ability to turn a sow’s ear into a silk purse; Kamela being the sow’s ear.
As rational thinkers, we must be wary of aberrations in such things as polls; twice that of pollsters. There was an entire concept that dominated science for over a millennium that was based on agreeing with the vast majority and ignoring the variations. I am referring to the model of the geocentric universe. Paths of the thousands of visible stars were consistent, going from east to west in predictable routes. The planets, on the other hand, would go forward and backward because of their position on their orbits in relationship to the earth. It wasn’t the observation of the multitude that brought about modern science, but that of the few variations.
Unfortunately, we live in a leftist dominated information provided world. Polls are just one more medium that is used to propagandize data. Be a Tyrus. Go with your gut. Calculate what you see and hear. Understand that information is a tool that can be altered by dominating voices to establish noise and deception. Trust only those who have earned your trust.
Not just that, they are run by people who don’t care if the poll is properly done, or the numbers are correctly displayed. They just want their money no matter what.
