Nick Begich starts stacking up endorsements for Congress ’24

67

Alaska Republican candidate for Congress Nick Begich has received the unanimous endorsement of the Anchorage Young Republicans and the Mat-Su Young Republicans.

Zach Young, president of the Anchorage Young Republicans said, “For this race, we saw it as a no-brainer: it’s gotta be Nick. Republicans have to unify to win — and they’re unifying behind Nick. It’s clear he’s our only shot at having a representative in DC who isn’t in lockstep with Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi.”

Ryan McKee, president of the Mat-Su Young Republicans, said, “Our membership doesn’t always agree on everything, but we agreed on this unanimously: Nick Begich is the ONLY candidate who is ready to defeat Mary Peltola. We were proud to support Nick in his previous run, and we’re excited to get behind him this time too — all the way!”

McKee continued, “Some might say it’s unusual to endorse this early in the campaign cycle — but they should tell that to Mary Peltola. She endorsed Joe Biden on day one!”

Begich is a third-generation Alaskan and the grandson of former U.S. Representative from Alaska Nick Begich, Sr. He is running for Congress to represent Alaska’s at-large congressional district.

“I am honored to receive the endorsement of the Anchorage and Mat-Su Young Republicans,” said Begich. “These young Republicans are the future of our state, and I am grateful for their support. I will work hard to earn the votes of all Alaskans in this election.”

The endorsement of the Anchorage and Mat-Su Young Republicans is a significant boost for Begich’s campaign; with the endorsement of these clubs, Begich has won the support of all of the Young Republican clubs in the state, representing thousands of young registered Republicans in Alaska.

      • Uh.
He is part of the most liberal progressive political family in Alaska’s history.
Name one “conservative” thing he has ever done for Alaska?
He couldn’t finish better than a 3rd place Loser – not in 1 election ‘ but 2 elections.
His father is a whack job – Begich was allegedly raised by his grandparents.
All of his businesses are out of state.
When you look in the dictionary under RINO – his picture is there.
He is a RINO and will be a tool of the globalist agenda.
Think McCain ‘ McConnell, Romney, Graham, Bush, etc.
We can do better than this NeoCon grifter…

        • Complete lies. You’ve been watching too many Peltola commercials.
I have known Nick Begich from when he lived in east anchorage.
He owns a mine in Alaska.
He was raised by his conservative grandparents because his parents divorced and the situation was tough. There isn’t anything “alleged” about it.
He’s been a Republican his whole life.
He was president for the Alaska Policy Forum for a number of years. Lies only come from one place. Get yourself to church.

          • Got all of NB’s good buddies squealing and talking tough. You guys are fighting NB’s fights like the suckers you are. Tell your palsy walsy to get his a** on here and talk to us himself. Bet ya he won’t and that makes you guys a bunch of chumps. So…anything else ladies?

        • Complete lies.

He owns a mine in Alaska.
He was raised by his conservative grandparents because his parents divorced. There isn’t anything “alleged” about it.
He was even in Young Republicans in high school.
He was the president for the Alaska Policy Forum for a number of years.

        • Try talking to Nick DW, he’s the real deal. Wayne Coogan below has it right – I couldn’t agree with Wayne more. Slander doesn’t help the conservative cause.

        • Done with it
Sorry pally but your lack of tenure in Alaska is showing in your uninformed comment above… Nick’s Gramps was a very Conservative representative, (pro life, Pro 2-A) and like Nick III was intelligent, affable and actually got stuff accomplished for Alaska, (think clearing the way for the Trans Alaska Pipeline).

Perhaps you might want to reconsider your comments above in light of the truth. Thanks!

        • DWI — his parents divorced and his mom took him to be raised with his grandparents on his mom’s side, something that is not uncommon. They are solid Christians and conservatives and that is how he ended up with solid conservative values. Also, all his business is not out of state. He closed his Chicago business. He is a business investor, so some of his investments are out of state, what of it?? Who even cares??? He is trying to develop a mining claim over in Kennicott area — is that good enough for you??? Nah, you are going to have some other attack. You are a Peltola supporter at heart.

      • Howdy Elizabeth. He was heavily supported by Unions and their money. Enough of his Second Choice RCV votes gave Mary Peltola the win.

        • Sarge, I supported Nick with cash donations as did many of us Old Timer Alaskans, we donated to Nick’s campaign, because we saw an accomplished, confident and successful young Gentleman who had done his HOMEWORK and BTW, built up quite a business all on his own. Building a successful business is an achievement because it represents productivity, something most Politicians lack. Beyond that Sarge, many of us recall his Gramps, and saw those same qualities in NB3.

Perhaps you should call Nick up and ask him some questions? I believe my friend Wayne Coogan is a good judge of Character and Wayne has put forth his opinion of Nick on this same comment board. It’s important to remember that Alaska is a small state in terms of population, this allows us access to our politicians that is unheard of in other States. Take advantage of that access and get in touch with Nick.

Thanks for listening Sarge, remember that we are all in this together, I’m pulling for ya!

    • Fire, your comment is nonsense. I have spent literally hours with Nick on over a half dozen occasions. Half the time in groups with others present. I’ve pressed him on issues; trying to corner him. He never waivers; he’s totally consistent. I truly believe he is the responsible, pragmatic, morally upright, conservative we direly need. He is also intelligent and analytical. He answers every question about his past openly. He doesn’t evade truth. In other words, he is honest. Quite refreshing actually. I urge everyone to vote for him to get our state and nation back on track.

        • Done/Fire:

Hey Peltola minions and stooges……..get over it! She’s an idiot Democrat who jumps over the cliff for Alzheimer’s Joe. No independent thinking from her brain. Something the Democrats never learned in school.
          NB3 will kick her *ss.

  1. He has my endorsement for Congress just as so long as he supports Alaska’s Great U.S. Senators Lisa Murkowski and Dan Sullivan 😉

      • Easy for you to blast away at people when hiding behind MRA confidentiality for commenters status.

        • Easy for you to spout pro-establishment, pro-globalist talking points and praise on WEF lackeys and shills like Princess Lisa, the most reprehensible, traitorous piece of trash ever (s)elected to office in Alaska.

        • That’s almost as idiotic a comment as your usual Princess Lisa butt kissing.

But that is common of the people on the left.

Especially while using a pseudonym yourself. More and more I’m beginning to think you’re a paid troll or a middle school kid with internet access.

        • Dont have to blast away hiding.
Lisa is the thief who is hiding the stolen Sam”theBankman”Fried Donations He made to her campaign war chest.
You dont seem to want to address the issue of her hiding the money investigators are attempting to recover.
          She is an outright THIEF!

    • I’m already on it, Jeffer. I’ve got plans to make sure she can not just “see” Russia from her kitchen window, but feel it too. Her love for young stud hockey players will entice her to the Motherland for more happy hunting.

  2. I will again donate to his campaign, and I will again vote for him.
Too bad there isn’t some way to guarantee that “look at me! look at me!” Palin won’t once again jump in to split the vote and give the seat back to the Leftwing extremist Peltola……

    • Tim, exactly right about the above.
I sincerely worry about what will happen to poor Sarah when her faithful followers figure out that her back stabbing of Parnell and her endorsement of Billy the Kid Walker led to the demise of their PFD. Thankfully she seems to have stayed in Florida or Arizona except for a couple of CRAZY EYE appearances on Bannon’s War Room during her FAKE fact free campaign. I mean who in Alaska donated to her campaign coffers? Anybody you know? Hmm…

    • Thanks to ranked-choice voting, there is no need for the vote to be split as long as everyone “ranks the red”. As much as I hope Palin stays out of this one, conservative voters need to stop crying about RCV and start USING it if we want to win.
In 2022, 20% of Nick Begich’s voters ranked no one second. 11% of his voters ranked Peltola second. If all of those voters would have swallowed their pride and ranked Palin second, at least she would be in Congress instead of Peltola.

      • Alaska has a serious problem with low-information voters electing fake Republicans at all levels of government. It’s demoralizing.

  3. I wasn’t a Begich guy last time but I like what he has to say. Peltola is bad news. Begich may be the only person who can beat her at this point.

  4. The republican party of Alaska needs a private primary and candidates that will abide by it. RCV is a scam to help the socialist democrats.

  5. That’s right anybody not for Peltola they gotta unify behind Nicholas Begich even last year’s Palin supporters. If its a race between Peltola and Nicholas. We can do this, we managed to give Dunleavy 51% plus under a R-C-V victory over two democrat gubernatorial candidates because Alaskan voters unified.

  6. I wish Begich actually had some expierence holding a public office. He says the right things but I haven’t seen it in action.
How about he replaces Kevin Cross? 😃

    • Well! Nicholas Begich knows how to read well and between him and his staff can get through 1000+ page bills to know what’s in them. Peltola reflects too much like the public here, I doubtful she even reads the bills she voted for or against by how she voted. That should be encouraging to you since most of Alaska can’t read well and would get overwhelmed if they had to read congress bills let alone understand it past its fancy vocabulary words none of us heard used. If we going to elect anyone they should be able to read better than the general public since they will be making decisions on our behalf.

  7. Nick Begich is not Mark Begich. It seems too many are going only by name association and not track record. Please expand your horizons and do your homework. Nick is solid and he is conservative. If you think otherwise then please show your concrete, verifiable, evidence and not just bashing him because he is a Begich.

    • He lends money to Mark. Enough said. Where did he disapear to after Sarah and him tanked for Petola?

      • Great speculations. I’m sure you have access to his bank accounts and can validate that claim.
It was great to see him at a basketball camp watching his kid right here in Anchorage.

  8. I hope this not going to be another Endorsement Campaign. Bin there,. Done That. It didn’t work last time, it would be like two week old Birthday cake this time around. We voters know how RCV works, a more sophisticated campaign is in order. Endorsements won’t make Mary go away.. Nick has to win the Jungle Primary. I think Kelly Thishbaka is the only one who can BEAT MARY.

    • Help Kelly beat RCV – then support her run for Senate against Lisa in ’28. Kelly would be a great Congressman, but right now she has more important work to do and NB3 will be a great Congressman.

    • I wish Mia was running. Or Mike Shower. But they’ve not.
Gotta dance with the people who came, not the ones we wish did.

  9. We know what Mary has done so instead of damning Nick because of his family name, give him a chance to prove you wrong and be that solid conservative he says he is. And if Palin somehow injects herself again, don’t fall for it. She recommended Mary last time for the second vote, so don’t vote for her at all.

  10. How do you get behind a candidate who has not indicated a willingness to run?
The most important issue is do whatever it takes to undo the ranked choice voting shuffle.

  11. I’m thinking that Palin is about to jump back in. She is making appearances on the same Newsmax shows as last time

  12. And here we are, again. Having the same stupid argument over Nick, again.
This is exactly why I hoped he would sit this one out and work on winning people over.

Wanna beat Mary? Really want to? Or just want to be outraged?

Then knock this BS off and focus. The issue isn’t Nick, it’s Mary.

    • Masked, the issue is who we choose to represent Alaska. Whether it’s Nick, Mary or that vapid screeching Palin. Why is this important? Because we vote for a person to represent us, someone who shares our ideals and is capable of attaining goals to further implementing those ideals, we are not voting on an idea.
I’m curious if Nick sat this one out and worked on winning people over, who would run in his stead?
I’m having trouble on that focus of yours…

  13. But what IF mom decides to run again? Nick, send us some 4×8 yard signs. Wasilla, cod.
We can use them to block out her windows.

  14. Unless Alaska cleans up its voter roles before 2024, I don’t know why anyone would expect outcomes different than 2018, 2020 and 2022? The words of Mark Twain seem applicable here; “It’s easier to fool people, than it is to convince them they’ve been fooled.” Another quote by Albert Einstein; “The definition of INSANITY is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different result!”

    • Remember Alaskans beat out Gara and Walker the two split one another’s votes while there were more unifying voting for Dunleavy (and the leftists democrats hate him) he scored a 51%+ vote beating out the chance of a run-off . At least Until Alaskans begin learning how to Read better, those of us still voting we have to understand how to use R-C-V to not give an unintentional vote to an opposing candidate, so we can vote better leaders to help us legislatively and judicially repeal it.

  15. Alaska is putty in the hands of the global elite who gave us Petola via Begich splitting the vote and Murkowski ensconsed as the ranked choice voting queen. Not optimistic as we need a fire-breather, which Begich is definitely NOT, to represent us in Congress and rally support in Alaska. Probably doesn’t matter anyway since election still rigged by rank choice.

  16. In 2016 he ran against Amy Demboski, in their televised debate he said he donated to, and campaigned for Lisa, McCain, and Romney. In that race he received maximum contribtions from Unions, the Democrat Leadership–APOC. Then he voted for Berkowits for Mayor. When he ran for the House he used over 400Kof his own money—-was that so his Leftist ties wouldn’t be hanging out there on an APOC Report. In the final tally the 2022 House Race the Rank The Red Plan disintegrated when the Bulk of Nick’s Second choice voters voted for Mary. I don’t want a Conservative guy like this representing me.

  17. Hopefully Palin stays in Arizona this time. Still aghast at how many of you defiantly insisted on self-destructing the election with her.
It’s one thing to do it with a principled candidate you believe in, but Palin is a grifter, doesn’t even live here, was completely surprised that election laws had changed (meaning she doesn’t even pay attention to big issues in AK, much less small ones), and even said she’d vote Peltola as her #2!
Nick is actually a real human being.
Don’t split the vote this time unless you want to keep turning Alaska blue! You get what you get.

  18. Yawn…. the same old cast of mainstream establishment politicos. And that will change things how?

    • NB3 is a game changer. We need this Conservative dude in Congress. And, hopefully he will become Alaska’s version of Matt Gaetz, and kick some Democrat hind end.

      • In his last 5 elections he has not kicked any Butt. I would like to see A New Conservative Champion for this Seat. First choice work be Kelly Thishbaka, then Mike Shower or Shelly Hughes. But Hey, if you want to walk off the cliff with Nick, just remember all those Palin People you have been insulting aren’t gonna follow you. All those majority votes on the Conservative side that went to Palin won’t be going to Nick. We Ranked the Red, Nick’s people didn’t. We won’t be coming back—-Kind of like Bud Lite.

          • Howdy Naomi, can you prove that. She has falsely been accused of a lot of things—frivilous lawsuits. She did say Jokiingly to Mary on the Campaign Trail that she would vote her as #2. Where you looking over Sarah’s shoulder when she was in the voting booth. Did Nick vote for Mary as #2 choice? More of his voters did—-A Left Wing following. Destroying the Rank the Red Movement.I don’t think Nick or Sarah could beat Mary—Too much Political Blood has been spilled. I am encouraging Kelly Thishbaka to Challenge and BEAT MARY in 2024.

        • Sarge – honest question here. People keep referring to Governor Palin as “conservative”, and that “conservative” voters support her. What characteristics do you see in her that are conservative?

Fiscally, she wasn’t tight with the purse strings (traditional conservative position, although none of our conservative pols tend to do this really well anymore). She presided (and part of that is the legislature, but the Governor has line item veto power, so…) over some of the biggest budgets in the state. Not fiscally conservative.

Pro-buisness – nope here either. She taxed most of the major producers out of the state.

Small government – nope. She grew government larger than it had been during her tenure.

Minimal taxation – nope (see above two item regarding small government and pro-business).

Anti-abortion/pro-life – I’ll give her this one. Her actions align with her words.

Believer – I don’t see this as a litmus test of a conservative, but some do. However, if this was a major reason I was voting for her or not, I’d ask the question. Do her words align with her actions? Not judging, but I would personally ask myself the question if that was a major issue for me.

Using the power of government as a personal bludgeon for her enemies (the former brother-in-law state trooper issue). This isn’t a “moral” thing to do regardless of party affiliation, but are you ok with that?

She told her followers NOT to rank the red (before she at the last minute told them to rank the red). This implies she was more satisfied with the possibility of Rep. Peltola representing us than NB3).

I think she’s better characterized as a “populist” than a conservative.

Your thoughts and I’m genuinely interested.
