Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

32

We’re giving politics a pause for a few days and hope all of the defenders of liberty and the Constitution will also take some time to celebrate the Savior’s birth and revisit the wonders of the world, as we share this rock that is spinning through space and time. Hold your family and friends close this week as we all close out the year and endeavor to do better in 2024.

As for this writer, I will be spending Christmas in a cathedral in Rome this year, as I am on a much-needed sabbatical. I’ll be back at my keyboard on Jan. 5, and will be ready to go as the legislative season gears up.

Thank you, all readers, commenters, critics, and friends, and especially financial supporters who make Must Read Alaska the lively, pithy, sometimes spicy and always the force for good that it is. While it is now under new ownership, it is going to come out of the gates strong in the new year with more writers and high-quality content that Alaskans crave and that you deserve from us.

Meanwhile, I hope you’re somewhere warm (but not too warm) and that you are as happy as a kid on Christmas morning, and that you connect with people who mean the world to you.

Merry Christmas to all!

  1. If Ms. Downing’s good deeds through her work with MRAK doesn’t land her the title of Saint while visiting that Cathedral in Rome, it may the Pope’s biggest missed opportunity of the year.

  2. Rome is such a wonderful destination so far from the Alaskan millieu. Rome the citadel of the fourth realm, the bastion of the Roman code which is displacing our US Constitution. How perfect. Happy for you!. Thank for working with freedom of speech. I hope you have a happy, stimulating New Year as well!

  3. Merry Christmas one and all! His peace in all your homes.

Has anybody started a Go Fund Me page for Anderson Windows subsequent to yesterday’s snowfall.

  4. Google pays $95 on a regular basis. My latest salary check was $8200 for working 10 hours a week on the internet. My younger sibling has been averaging $15k for the last few months, and he constantly works approximately 24 hours. I’m not sure how simple it was once I checked it out. This is my main concern…………. GOOD LUCK.

  7. Merry Xmas all and thank you Suzanne. Living here in Juneau I know what it’s like to speak out and feel alone as many attack you. But, the truth can’t be hidden and I now have the last laugh (really not humorous though) when I ask how they like their new grocery bills.

  8. I gave Santa Claus a ride to the airport last week – he was flying south from North Pole and said his reindeer were taking a much needed break to prepare for their big night… Everyone needs a vacation. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Suzanne.

  9. Merry Christmas, Suzanne and the happiest of New Years. Thank you for not abandoning us. We still need you in this important year of 2024.

  10. Heartfelt best wishes to commentators who treat opposing views with respect and kindness.
And to those who don’t, peace be with you.
Hope this Roman/Italian/European immersion will offer mindful religious and secular insight into dealing with current world affairs.
    Here’s to a bully-less New Year 2024!
