Golden State culture war on families rages as gender bill taking away parents’ rights is at governor’s desk

If parents in California don’t support the decision of their children to undergo gender transitioning and sterilization, they could soon lose custody of their kids, a new state policy that could lead to the exodus of many conservative families from the Golden State.

Assembly Bill 957, The TGI (Transgender, Gender-Diverse, and Intersex) Youth Empowerment Act passed the California legislative Assembly on Friday and is now in front of Gov. Gavin Newsom, who is expected to sign it.

According to the act, affirming a child’s chosen gender is in the best interest of the child.

The bill passed along exact party lines, with all Republicans voting against it, and Democrats voting in favor of state taking authority away from parents.”

“AB 957 empowers parents who support their TGI children by clarifying once and for all that affirming a child’s gender identity is in the best interest of the child, allowing courts to consider a parent’s affirmation of their child’s gender identity when making decisions about visitation and custody. The bill will also require courts to strongly consider that affirming a child’s gender identity is in the best interest of the child when one parent does not consent to a minor’s legal name change to conform with the minor’s gender identity. AB 957 will provide affirming parents the support they need when encountering civil procedures in court that pertain to affirming and uplifting the lives of their TGI children,” the bill summary reads.

The bill requires judges in custody cases to take into consideration whether parents are supportive of their children’s gender decisions and transitioning/sterilization procedures.

“This bill, for purposes of this provision, would include a parent’s affirmation of the child’s gender identity as part of the health, safety, and welfare of the child,” the legislation says. The legislation also says the parents must accept the child’s new chosen name.

The bill lays out how broad the parameters are for what is considered acceptable for parents when it comes to affirming the gender transition choices of their children: “Affirmation includes a range of actions and will be unique for each child, but in every case must promote the child’s overall health and well-being.”

Newsom last year signed into law a bill designed to make California a sanctuary that shields parents who travel from other states to access sterilization for their children, and also legally shields doctors who provide these profitable services.

  1. Who “pays” for the surgeries and the mental trauma damages? If the parents are required to pay these costs, shouldn’t they have a say so? Or, if it’s the Taxpayers paying these costs, shouldn’t they have a say so?

  2. The war on families continues to confound reason. What sensible parent would want to inflict permanent harm on their minor child? Child will be permanently sterile, life long health issues, surgical procedures that leave horrific scars, incontinence, depression, suicide, list goes on and on.

Doctors, teachers, counselors and parents should face legal recourse for child abuse!

Having listened to a transgender speak publicly, that said it is better to have a short happy life than a long healthy life proves mind control, manipulation or indoctrination! Short happy life is not a rationale statement.

  3. “Democrats voting in favor of state taking authority away from parents.””
Reminder. One of the ultimate goals of leftists is to make the All-Powerful State your primary, if not only relationship. To that end, they have worked hard to destroy religion, marriage, and now, the bond between parent and child.
Of course, the more politically connected you are, the less likely the all-powerful State will be to take away your children. All the more reason to worship at that altar.

Surgery for hand and eye removal is scheduled next week.
His mother and I would hate to disappoint him and stop his dream

  5. There are some Republicans and Libertarians who think these social issues are not important. Yet what good are all the other issues without the ability to maintain your own social values?

  6. Eeew. It’s more likely going to hit Alaska after Dunleavy if we have a Democrat Governor elected Nov 2026 if as a State the people don’t humble themselves and start reading their bibles, or Alaskans remain ignorant. Since Washington is already passing state-custody measures too, it’s too close to us. When I was twenty I am wishing I packed my little bags and moved from Alaska to a bible state, for one thing it’ll be warmer, far far away from the heathen Northwest. Since I can’t leave I am intent bringing the Bible to all around me.

  7. After a visit to the firehouse, nearly every preschool child wants to grow up and become a firefighter. So we should need not ask where they are getting these new ideas. It is not really harmful until you don’t let the child grow up and rethink the decision as an adult without the influence an adult has on a child’s mind. Obviously the governor has found a solution to the housing problem by driving out responsible parents from the state.

  8. Khrushchev said we’d fall without the Soviets ever firing a shot.

He was right. All the seeds the Soviets planted in the 60s bore a very bitter fruit.

  9. It will be helpful to know whoever is left in Cali after this straw will obviously not be worth associating with unless they have no children or familiy with children.
Which will pretty much be the alphabet bunch as well as the homeless.
    Too expensive for me anyways.
