Alaska Gov. Mike Dunleavy and 24 other Republican governors released the following joint statement in support of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Texas’ constitutional right to self-defense.

The statement comes as the Biden Administration continues to attack Texas and refuses to take action or responsibility for the crisis at the Southern border, the governors said. Recently, the Biden Administration ordered Border Patrol agents to cut down the razor wire that Texas law enforcement had installed on the U.S. side of the border at Eagle Pass, where a flood of illegal aliens are crossing every day.

“President Biden and his Administration have left Americans and our country completely vulnerable to unprecedented illegal immigration pouring across the Southern border. Instead of upholding the rule of law and securing the border, the Biden Administration has attacked and sued Texas for stepping up to protect American citizens from historic levels of illegal immigrants, deadly drugs like fentanyl, and terrorists entering our country.

“We stand in solidarity with our fellow Governor, Greg Abbott, and the State of Texas in utilizing every tool and strategy, including razor wire fences, to secure the border. We do it in part because the Biden Administration is refusing to enforce immigration laws already on the books and is illegally allowing mass parole across America of migrants who entered our country illegally.

“The authors of the U.S. Constitution made clear that in times like this, states have a right of self-defense, under Article 4, Section 4 and Article 1, Section 10, Clause 3 of the U.S. Constitution. Because the Biden Administration has abdicated its constitutional compact duties to the states, Texas has every legal justification to protect the sovereignty of our states and our nation.”

Congressman Michael Cloud of Texas’ 27th Congressional District, filmed a short video three weeks earlier that shows the razor wire and migrants wading across the river to illegally cross the border:

Signatories of the letter include: Governor Kay Ivey (AL), Governor Mike Dunleavy (AK), Governor Sarah Sanders (AR), Governor Ron DeSantis (FL), Governor Brian Kemp (GA), Governor Brad Little (ID), Governor Eric Holcomb (IN), Governor Kim Reynolds (IA), Governor Jeff Landry (LA), Governor Tate Reeves (MS), Governor Mike Parson (MO), Governor Greg Gianforte (MT), Governor Jim Pillen (NE), Governor Joe Lombardo (NV), Governor Chris Sununu (NH), Governor Doug Burgum (ND), Governor Mike DeWine (OH), Governor Kevin Stitt (OK), Governor Henry McMaster (SC), Governor Kristi Noem (SD), Governor Bill Lee (TN), Governor Spencer Cox (UT), Governor Glenn Youngkin (VA), Governor Jim Justice (WV), and Governor Mark Gordon (WY).

  1. That’ll stop illegals for sure. The Cowardly Lion and his friends issued a virtue signaling press release.

    Grandstanding toads, all of them.

    • In 2019, we sent some of our national guard to help Texas. I have asked Dunleavy to do the same now. I believe the 1st step, of course, is adding his declaration to stand behind Texas. So I’m hoping we’ll be doing more than just signing the letter.

    • It’s evil to support evil actions. The governor of Texas could have ‘made a difference’ in whatever campaign he is advocating, contributing to solution, and helping the constituents that elected him, but instead chose to try to dehumanize the asylum seekers as folks undeserving of humane treatment and consideration. And, anyone that goes along with, especially anyone in a position of authority, and possesses power, in the appalling persecution of human beings, is as evil in intent as the original perpetrator.

I agree with MA, that it’s all a show.

Live human beings are being used as the billboard of the Texas governor’s inhumanity, and the Alaskan governor is posting them in the last frontier. My folks were pioneers. A lot of people that moved to Alaska under the auspices of the government of the USA lived pioneer lifestyles. The Chugiak-Eagle River Historical Society chronicles this, as well the Palmer museum for settlers to the Matanuska Valley.

      • Mrs. N, you radical leftists have the most remarkable ability to engage in profound cognitive dissonance and to invert reality.

How can you NOT see that this invasion — and it IS an invasion, just as the historically well-known Barbarian Invasions of the late Roman Empire were invasions — are not literally destroying our society, our security and our country? Answer me directly, you disingenuous fool — HOW can you not see and understand that?

Invaders are not mere “asylum seekers”, they are human locusts swarming our already overcrowded lifeboat. They do NOT deserve “humane treatment and consideration”, they deserve to be SHOT at the border for the invaders that they are! And if your misguided and ignorant heart feels so strongly for them, why don’t YOU adopt a family or ten of them, and shelter, feed and support them yourself? Put your damned arrogant and leftist bleeding-heart money where you mouth is!

Your roots may be Alaskan, but your spirit is pure Bolshevik.
I am ashamed, and disgusted, to share my state with people like you.

        • Ever notice how the more “progressive” a person is, the less they actually care about people?

          • It is a hallmark of leftism that other people bear the cost and effort of their decisions so they can take the accolades and praise.

        • Jefferson. If you could do it legally, would YOU stand at the border and shoot immigrants, watch them bleed out? Would you then feel patriotic that you prevented what you call an invasion?

          • Yes, and yes.

Because those invaders are our enemies, and are the enemies of this country. Although the REAL, fundamental enemies are those within the feral government who are encouraging and supporting those invaders — they are both enemies and traitors, and deserve to die first.

          • Sorry Paola these individuals are NOT IMMIGRANTS!
Immigrants have permission to be in this country after applying through official channels, have been background checked and had a health screening. They also have skills and adequate funds(or a sponsor) to be successful in this country.
These are lawbreaker, whose aim is to skip the line all together and then demand to use resources they are not entitled to.
Here a question for you: If one or several of these individuals break into your home and make themselves comfortable, will you call the police or just hand over your keys and your credit card and move out?

      • What’s evil is your support of the abject misery people are being put through by Grandpa Bloodstains and company.

      • Clueless leftist claptrap spews once again from Mrs. N.
        .
You, ma’am, are no different than the Sanctuary city mayors and residents who are so busy expending other people’s time, money, and effort so they can look good. It is all “We welcome immigrants, and asylum seekers” right up until the moment they show up. Then suddenly, it is overwhelming.
        .
NYC, the largest metro city in the US is overwhelmed with a couple of hundred immigrants, but El Paso, is supposed to take care of 10,000+ migrants?
        .
The true evil is expecting someone else to bear the burden and suffer the consequences of your actions. Had the mayors and governors of the “sanctuary” states had not been so vocal about how welcoming they were (or more accurately, think someone else should be), perhaps the US Government would do their duty, and stop the unimpeded flow of immigrants.

      • Mrs N
300,000 crossed the border in December of 2023, that is roughly the same number of people who live in ANCHORAGE.
This is an invasion perpetrated by a political party and it’s operatives.
This isn’t Grandstanding and sadly it’s too little too late.

    • Masked, your point is understood. However, the Feds are shipping illegals aliens (not immigrants) to all points throughout our nation. Many have been offloaded in Alaska, even Juneau. These people (mostly men) may have some credentials or may not; they may have criminal intent or may not; its impossible to tell until such time as they are vetted through a proper immigration process. What is happening at the border affects every taxpayer negatively. Dunleavy’s announcement is a positive first step. If he follows up it will be commendible.

  2. Walls and Fences are a waste of $$$$ without a simple change to our Immigration Laws. Simply require paperwork to be approved prior to crossing the border, require return to country of origin immediately without approved paperwork Not very complicated

    • That’s already the law. They are called illegal aliens because as defined in Title 8 of the US Code “The term “alien” means any person not a citizen or national of the United States.” If the alien arrives and stays without authorization they are doing so illegally hence the term illegal alien. Some of the more politically correct amongst us refer to illegal aliens as illegal immigrants or undocumented immigrants, ultimately what it means is the person isn’t from the US and does not meet the legal standards to be allowed in or to stay.

We don’t need a new stinking laws, we just need to enforce the ones already on the books.

      • As you say, we already have laws to bar illegal aliens from making illegal entry across our borders. However, when we have a lawless president and executive branch, and lawless Department of Homeland Security, then our laws are meaningless. They are not enforced.

    • We are being strangled, and you think paperwork will stop this? This administration is letting people pour in from all over the world unfettered. Paperwork?? How high are you?
Did you notice during the forced vaxxes of the pandemic that these border crossers did not have to get the shot? They are being given hotels, schools to sleep in free phones free food free clothes, no one is trying to stop them except Abbott. Who the hell is going to check their friggin paperwork???
Our government is cutting the wire!! God bless it you say some ignorant s&@$.
Build the wall! It’s way cheaper than what we sent to Ukraine to protect their country.

    • We have that law, these millions of people, encouraged and supported by our, nay THE, federal government, are breaking those laws. That is why they are ILLEGAL migrants. The way to fix this problem is to elect people who love our nation. Being a “nation of immigrants” isn’t what defines US, rather it’s being a “nation of laws”. Hey Hey, Ho Ho! This criminal Biden’s got to Go!

      • They are not “illegal migrants.” Migrant is, by definition, a legal status. The millions of people you refer to are illegal aliens. People use euphymisms to distort the reality of situations.

    • So Frank what “simple change to our laws” would that be???
We have the laws on the books and fences and wall would funnel individuals to certain access points, which would give us control over, who has their “paperwork” in order and who does not and keep them out.
Under this president it is clear that he caters to illegals first, allowing all into the country without vetting, climate activists second and regular American citizens paying the bill for all this largess a very distant third. The ones completely left in the dustbin are those, who lawfully wait their turn to immigrate into this country, by applying, having their background checked and health examined, the way our LAWS actually demand!

    • And, the people who are checking the paper work along ever inch of our border are…

Do you even know what the word “checkpoint” means? Break it down Frank. Check… point. The point where a check happens. And, how do we define that check point? Oh… there is a wall and or a fence, some kind of barrier that defines where a check happens.
      .
Which means the millions that have crossed the border where no fence exists did not go through a check point, and no paperwork exists.

    • Oh… I have a much better idea than that.
      .
How about we stop giving individuals in the country illegally… you know, illegal aliens, welfare, food stamps, housing, etc…

  3. All the Hoopla and propaganda about “Real I.D.” imminently necessary to board an airplane or cross an international border; what a pack of lies and manipulation of U.S. Citizens.
    Governor Dunleavy:
With the WORLD at WAR! Please require REAL ID OR A VALID PASSPORT TO ENTER OUR STATE! Further, how many invaders have been flown into Alaska and released this past year, just a guess sir, how many?

  4. Does anyone, anywhere, with more functioning brain cells than Grandpa Bloodstains think these statements actually make a moose hair’s difference to anyone?

If they do something tangible, like say sending guardsmen to help Texas, THEN it might matter.

    • It’s called Unification. Instead of continually bashing the man, maybe give some support. It’s like you have Mike Dunleavy Syndrom to match your TDS. This is what America First looks like.

          • Who lives rent free in your pointy little head. And I so triggered you.
I’m thinking of making you my special friend.

You are well named, however. A giant rock incapable of rational thought.

          • Since MA fears a response below, I’ll put it hear. You are one of those loud mouths who not only is the azzhat in the crowd who demands full attention. You also appear to be one of those who only wants to only hear his own voice and opinion. Pathetic.

    • OTOH, if the Constitution doesn’t mean doodly squat to the Powers That Be (Dementia Hitler, Congress or the SCOTUS), why pray tell ought it mean any more to the rest of us. The problem the left has in ignoring the constitution and demanding everyone else respect it is when everyone else starts playing under their new rules. Cheers –

      • It should mean everything to the rest of us. Especially when the “powers that be” are ignoring it.
        .
Read the Constitution, I mean really read it. It is a limiting document, not an empowering one. The Constitution limits the power and authority of the Federal Government. The Bill of Rights limits it even more.
        .
The US population has seemed to forget that, and they have allowed the Federal Government to grow unimpeded. It is about time the Constitution started to be used again. How about the folks in the center and on the right start enforcing the Constitution, instead of ignoring it?

    • That’s why we need PedoTrump in there, he’ll just let em drown, which is what they rightfully deserve.

    • And if he DOES back it up, as Abbott shows every sign of doing?

I will relish the utter (further) discrediting that the senile, pro-globalist diaper-crapper-in-chief will suffer as a result when his federal minions are shot by the Texas National Guard for their treasonous betrayal of the USA and its people.

        • I will be impressed as well, and share your doubts that this border standoff may in fact be nothing more than a staged uniparty performance. Abbott has enough ties to the Bush-Cheney-McConnell GOP establishment cabal to make me seriously question his resolve in, and his reasons for, actually standing up to the feds as he APPEARS to be doing here. I would be ecstatically happy if my doubts were proven to be wrong.

  5. I have my doubts, but I sincerely hope that Governor Abbott, and the Texas National Guard, stand their ground, defend themselves from this globalist-sponsored invasion, and forcefully defy the tyranny and treason of the usurper’s regime in DC. And shoot the damned feds if they continue to facilitate the invasion! The time for half-measures has long passed.

    • Already ‘splained it to you on a previous reply, Greg.
      .
The reason DHS won was how they framed their complaint to the SCOTUS. It was about a State stopping Border Patrol from accessing Federal Land in order to carry out their lawful duty.

        • I could be wrong on that, but the border is under Federal Jurisdiction. And, as a general rule, the Feds do not have jurisdiction over privately owned land. (Yes, with the massive amount of Federal regulatory overreach we have, you may own the land, but the water, mineral rights, air, and animals may be under Federal control.)
          .
Pretty sure the US border is part of that 1.3%.
          .
Regardless. If a Federal Agent has a lawful reason to access the border, they are allowed to, and prohibiting them from carrying out the duties in a lawful manner is what the SCOTUS issued their ruling on.

  6. If there is another terrorist attack similar to 9-11, then the Biden Administration will have blood on its hands. Why do American citizens have to take off their shoes before boarding a plane? Do the illegal immigrants have to do the same? Doubtful. Why do Americans have to go through passport control when returning from overseas? Why not just enter through the southern border. We are the laughingstock of the world. Things must change or we in deep doo-doo.

    • “If there is another terrorist attack similar to 9-11, then the Biden Administration will have blood on its hands.”

They will take no responsibility for it whatsoever and will blame it on their political foes; or worse, will use the event to invoke “emergency powers” the likes of which we have yet to see.

The November election and a January 2025 power change will be too late; the Biden regime and cohorts will have completely burned down the house by then.

    • You well know the terrorist attack is planned for after President Biden leaves office.
      Please, do not be silly…

  7. Hey Governor, put money behind your statement and send Alaska National Guard to Texas and help secure our nation. I also agree with a statement above. How many of these illegal invaders are currently in our State? I’m seeing personal documentaries on the increase in the homeless in Anchorage residential wooded areas. But they aren’t just the normal homeless people. Many look like they are from foreign countries and were antagonistic to the investigators filming them on their cell phones. There is something afoot in our State and either Dunleavy is staying silent about it, or he is ignorant to it. We are in a period of vigilance folks. There are many people that do not care if this nation fails because either they are compromised or being blackmailed. We just recently saw this with the revelation of the GOP head in Arizona trying to bribe Kari Lake. She was told to not run for office for 2 years and would be paid handsomely for it. Kari told him to tell the creeps back east that were fronting the money to stuff it, she is in it for the country. Trump and Kari are the example of what type of politicians we need. People of character and integrity! Alaska GOP, are you taking notes?

    • I think that it is too risky to send our national guard down to Texas, which will leave us with a gaping hole. Considering we are on the other side of the continent and there is nothing between us, Russia, Chyna and the illegals that are here already, sending our troops across the continent is like a take-down wish.

  8. Feds removing razor wire and buoy markers in the Rio Grande… suing Texas for trying to protect the US border… Democrat mayors complaining about and restricting bus loads of undocumented immigrants being delivered to their self-proclaimed sanctuary cities…
As pointed out in this article, Democrat Party immigration policy is arguably the greatest threat to America. But it’s not just immigration, it’s many other pillars of the Democrat Party platform that are weakening America. Contrary to what mainstream media would have us believe, it’s not Americans who want to make America great, or parents who want a say in their children’s education, or Americans who want secure and accurate elections, or Americans who want to own a firearm, or Americans who want to protect unborn babies, or Americans who believe that gender is assigned by God and that a child’s gender should not be allowed to be manipulated, or Americans who believe that citizens should work hard and not rely on the government, or Americans who believe that America’s energy and economic security should not be sacrificed for unproven theories about alleged man-made climate change, etc. etc.
And my Democrat friends are still inexplicably confused when I ask why they hate America… I blame the public education system – and yet, many Alaska Republicans are hell bent on approving the largest funding increase in the history of the base student allocation formula without attaching any requirements for improved education outcomes or consequences for failures or increased opportunities for parents to choose alternatives to the failed public education system.

  9. As according to the US Constitution states should be protected from foreign invasions. The administration has received numerous written notices of the invasion. THe constitution is guaranteed. The states may not devolve to tyranny. The letter of the law is dictated by the supreme laid down law of the land the US Constitution. This is a political not judicial jurisdiction. Are other states not supporting Texas having active unjust enrichments for not doing so? They should be audited.

Congress express authorities in Section 8 define offences against the law of nations and to repel foreign invasions. Definitely not supreme Court Jurisdiction. Do the right thing.

    • In an article in the Anchorage Daily Rag Dunleavy claims the Ukrainian Immigrants are a good thing for Alaska. Well Big Mike, that remains to be seen. What shouldn’t even be argued is that if all the non-English Speaking people that are showing up working at our Walmart’s, Fred Meyers, and every other large employer that I see aren’t doing much to benefit everyday Alaskans. When asked a simple question the reply is way too often -No Englashe Senior’. What is absolutely fact is that Illegal Border Jumpers aren’t Immigrants – They are ILLEGALS and don’t belong here ILLEGALLY!. This is just party line BS about how we need more workers and customers to drive down wages and destroy this nation and state. Your administration can’t handle processing lifelong Alaskan’s SNAP application RENEWALS while we see people that can’t speak English dressed in nice new clothes and carrying nice new cellphones buying stuff with SNAP cards. Personally, I can’t see much difference between Demoncrats and Republicants in our Political Traitors. It’s about time that Americans grow some balls and STOP this madness that’s destroying our Country. I supported Dunleavy but am increasingly wondering WHY. This Administration is STILL promoting Covid Vaccines that are now proven to be harming millions and now appears to be OK with replacing Alaskans with invaders.

  10. How can there be a problem on the southern border?

Trump built the wall, didn’t he? Such a beautiful wall.

    • And, Biden tore it down, refused to repair it, and encouraged the migrants to head to areas where the construction is incomplete.
Tell me, slipstream. Have you been in a coma for the last three years?

  11. Looking for ideas, how do we get gov. Dunleavy and the other 24 to write another letter to Congress letting Congress know that we, the people want this administration brought up on charges of treason.

  12. Texas made it illegal to enter Texas illegally. we see how the illegal entrants are doing it illustrating how human trafficking is done in Texas. How are illegals entering Alaska. perhaps we don’t have that prohibition as a statute yet. Until Alaska secures our borders how are people trafficked in Alaska?
Just regular way imprisonment “shipping” through square banks? How do they enter Alaska now? Where do they enter? Primarily Fairbanks airports? They don’t speak English; where are they from? Ukraine? How hard must we look to fully support what Texas is doing? ‘Cuz if the illegals can’t get their government cards in Texas where would the WEF like “them” to be welcomed?

  13. As usual MRAK forget to point out the hypocrisy of most GOP supporter and representative. I kept hearing from Republican, year after year, that the Supreme Court has the final say in any legal matter, and that everyone must accept what they say, or that the country will descend into tyranny, lawlessness, and anarchy. However, in this present matter when the supreme court decision is an inconvenience for the Republican, then it’s fair deal for them to ignore the court’s ruling.

    • Mo, if some Republicans are saying or implying “We will only abide with rulings that WE agree with”, they assuredly learned that practice from the Demoncrats, who have long ago raised hypocrisy to a fine art.

      • Jefferson, what a good one! You are also probably convinced that the Founding Fathers wanted the USA to be a religious nation, and denied the fact that the sentence “In God we Trust” was only added decades later in 1956. The sad piece of news is that God was never defined, and here I acknowledge it. Hail Satan.

        • There are four founding documents written closely in time and are meant to be read together. They are not taught to immigrants nor American public school attendees. These documents refute nearly everything you just said but foreigners and democrats foment what you just said.
