Olympic women’s boxing now belongs to the men. Algerian Imane Khelif, who has XY chromosomes that make him a male, won welterweight division gold medal Friday against China’s Yang Liu.
The mainstream media reports that Imane is a woman because he has a passport that says so.
The International Boxing Association says it has blood tests showing that Imane and another boxer fighting in the women’s division, featherweight Lin Yu-Ting of Taipei, are indeed men. They are disqualified from boxing in the IBA women’s divisions.
Controversy has centered on the women’s boxing events at the Olympics in Paris, as the two men, who are reportedly equipped with both male and female sexual characteristics, have dominated women opponents.
Only a chicken s— man would be proud of beating a female in boxing!!!!!
Let’s just say, for practical purposes, he can be ashamed all the way to the bank. Olympic gold medals are a ticket to fame and fortune. Can’t blame the guy if the powers to be are stupid enough to give it to him. Not to mention the women that are stupid enough to compete with him.
So you think that woman should give up her dreams and hard work all because some dude decides he wants to punch her out? It is not the women competitors who are stupid, dear, it’s the IOC. But go ahead and blame the women for wanting to do something amazing. Yeah, that’s the ticket.

As a track guy (other sports, too) I often trained side by side with my female counterparts. I saw the love and effort they put into pushing themselves to be the best they could be. And to want to test themselves against the very best in competition.
I can’t blame the women who have trained years to reach this moment for making the decision to get into the ring against this man. Even knowing the probable outcome.
I dated a girl in college who ran track. We ran together as part of the courtship. Occasionally we’d race. In short distances she never stood a chance. I was bigger in every way. Lungs, leg muscles, size of my heart, 5” taller. Within 15 yards I was 4 yards ahead. In distance she beat me. While I was more explosive, she was in better shape.
It was simple biology, nothing else.
However, there is also merit in the argument for women choosing to not participate until this idiocy is resolved. If enough women and their coaches said they were not gonna dignify this farce it will invalidate the man’s “ win”.
Okay, I will humbly accept the rebukes of both you and Tamra. I retract my comment that the women are “stupid” for stepping in the ring with a man. Let me re-phrase. The IOC is corrupt; they have embraced an immoral and reprehensible ideology. Unfortunately, all the hard work and dedication of the women athletes has brought them into a cauldron of corruption. They must choose whether to participate in said corruption or strike it from their hearts. It is not stupidity; rather, it is a choice. They have made their choice. I am pleased my daughter has made the right choice to keep her grandsons away from the corrupt organization formerly known as Boy Scouts of America. In life, the right choices are seldom the easy ones.

It says the IMA did blood tests “showing…[the boxers] are indeed men”. A nebulous statement that invites dumb people to jump to a conclusion that hasn’t been verified. What type of blood test? What did it reveal? Specifics matter.

The IBA is permanently banned from the Olympic Games, has no connection to the Olympics and its role as a sanctioning body is not recognized by the International Olympic Committee. It has been described as Russian-dominated and Kremlin-backed.

The IOC should test for testosterone and cortisol under their doping provision and disqualify anyone with elevated levels, but it is more important not to upset the ideological apple cart instead of having actual proof to settle the matter …

So how do you know this person has X and Y chromosomes? The IBA apparently hasnt said that.

Depending on the type, she would have no external genitalia, no signs of androgenization until after puberty, etc. She’d grew up as a girl. Most DSD individuals, especially in countries without robust medical care, are unaware and have no external signs they aren’t the biological sex they were raised. These are human beings. Be kind. You, of all people, should be aware that the dispute over the real gender of these gentlemen boxers is valid, with passports and testosterone level now being used to verify gender. Imane had all the advantage of testicular-producing testosterone as he grew up. And yeah, we’ll probably have to move to chromosome tests in the future since the men keep taking the women’s trophies in sports. Because this is just stupid.
I can’t imagine Algeria doing this. Maybe the IOC should run tests. The women opponents were devastated, and rightly so. It will be interesting to see how any such issue is treated in the next Olympics in the Woke State of California.
