Gov. Mike Dunleavy at CPAC on Feb. 21, 2025

Gov. Mike Dunleavy was one of the featured speakers at the Conservative Political Action Conference, the premier conservative gathering in the country.

Along with Power the Future President Daniel Turner, Dunleavy spoke about natural resources and supporting energy workers.

Dunleavy said that while President Joe Biden had allowed himself to be hijacked by the environmental industry, “The sun rose again on Nov. 5th and it’s like Christmas every day now.”

Watch a clip of his discussion with Turner here:

CPAC is hosted by the American Conservative Union (ACU) and is attended by the biggest names in the conservative movement. This week’s conference was held in Oxon Hill, Maryland.

Other speakers included Vice President JD Vance, who kicked off the conference, Elon Musk, House Speaker Mike Johnson,  former British Prime Minister Liz Truss, Kari Lake, Rep. Byron Donalds, and on Saturday, President Donald Trump.

      • That isn’t rain… but people will tell you it is.

Oh, and somebody should remind him that almost a third of the state is on SNAP and Medicaid. If the feds aren’t funding it, somebody is going to, or people will die. So our options are funding it ourselves as Alaskans, or letting people die to preventable circumstances.

It is like Christmas every day…
        I’ve always hated Christmas.

  1. Christmas every day?
    .
Dear Santa, Please would you bring us an open, honest, transparent election system just like what we had back in the day but lost, an uncorrupted judiciary system, Eaglexit, an education system ranked number one in performance and number fifty in cost, an open, honest, conservative city Assembly, and an open, honest, conservative legislature? Thank you. Your friend, Morrigan.

  2. “It’s like Christmas every day now,” eh? Hell, I was beginning to think the thing–a lump of everyday, and it ain’t the anthracite stuff either.

  3. “It’s like Christmas every day now,” eh? Hell, I was beginning to think the thing–a lump of coal everyday, and it ain’t the anthracite stuff either.

    • Finally, like marriages, edits are better on the third try, eh? And as I was saying, things haven't been so rosy in a long time! Finally, like marriages, edits are better on the third try, eh? And as I was saying, things haven't been so rosy in a long time!

“It’s like Christmas every day now,” eh? Hell, I was beginning to think the same thing–a lump of coal everyday, and it ain’t the anthracite stuff either.

  4. Six years and counting with Governor Dunleavy as Alaska’s Governor and we have deficit budgets, excessive bureaucracy and obvious unfulfilled promises galore.
Naturally, blame for this situation is cast on the federal government (an entity that sends multiple billions annually to Alaska to pump up state spending), and the Alaska Legislature.
We’re living in a fantasy land up here in the Lost Frontier, including the Governor.

    • “We the people,” in their collective wisdom, never tire of being suckered by snake oil salesmen. For the holier-than-thou crowd here in the “twilight zone,” remember, Christmas is followed by the Apocalypse–a reckoning of sorts for those of faith!

My suggestion for those of us in the here-and-now is this: sidle-up and brown nose the smash ‘n’ dash boys of the Trump administration. Get yours while the gettin’ is good! In the end–and it hasn’t occurred in over two thousand years–it matters only to the “enlightened” Sunday-schoolers, but “we” ain’t that kind!

  5. Christmas everyday? When so many federal workers in Alaska have lost their jobs?!

I know weed is legal in Alaska, but I want to know what he’s on!

  6. It isn’t Christmas for all the employees fired at Mendenhall glacier. And j bet the two employees left there who are expected to handle all the tourists afterwards aren’t feeling the Christmas spirit either.

  7. Dunleavy is a joke! He’s ruined all that was good in Alaska and blames people that aren’t even in office anymore for his mistakes (Biden, Obama, Stevens….) Trump doesn’t even want anything to do with him…..We are done with this guy!

  8. I predict that Alaska will be so prosperous from new oil and production that the people of Alaska will make Nov 5 “Alaska Oil and Gas Dominance Day” and praise the oil and workers as National Heroes vote in Mike Dunleavy as our 48th President!

      • Geldhof, Donkel speaketh tongue-in-cheek! If not, don’t despair: ignorance only has the half-life of Xenon-124!

Dunleavy has proved himself to be just another dud, but apparently he’s dud enough to be inspirational for those stumbling through life.

        • Edit: If not, don’t despair: “luckily,” ignorance has the half-life of Xenon-124!
