Trump’s 2024 will be busy: Trial on a Monday, followed by Super Tuesday

47

A federal judge in former president Donald Trump’s election interference legal case has set the court date: March 4, one day before the Republican Super Tuesday, when many state Republican Party members, including Alaska’s, will vote on their nominee for president. Currently, Trump is the far-and-away favorite for Republicans, many of whom have dug in their political heels after watching the judicial system attack the former president repeatedly.

The charges against Trump involve alleged attempts to change the outcome of the 2020 presidential election. Trump’s attorneys have tried but failed to push the court date into 2026, well after the election in November of 2024.

U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan turned that offer down. The political spectacle will instead take place almost simultaneously with when more than a 15 states conducted caucuses.

Super Tuesday includes Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, and Virginia and probably North Dakota and Wyoming. Several other states will have their caucuses the week after, on March 12, which would be right in the middle of the trial.

In all, Trump faces 91 charges among the four indictments from Florida, New York, Georgia, and the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. Some charges relate to alleged payments Trump made to porn star Stormy Daniels, and his possession of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago.

Trump’s court dates for the Stormy Daniels case and the classified documents case are both in May. The The Republican National Convention will gather on July 15, 2024 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

On TruthSocial, Trump posted this thoughts about the indictments:

“Deranged Jack Smith & his team of Thugs, who were caught going to the White House just prior to Indicting the 45th President of the United States (an absolute No No!), have been working on this Witch Hunt for almost 3 years, but decided to bring it smack in the middle of Crooked Joe Biden’s Political Opponent’s campaign against him. Election Interference! Today a biased, Trump Hating Judge gave me only a two month extension, just what our corrupt government wanted, SUPER TUESDAY. I will APPEAL!”

“Page 2: How do you have an Indictment that is based almost entirely on the findings of the January 6th Unselect Committee of Marxists, Fascists, and Political Hacks, when these same lowlifes, who have been caught lying for years about Russia, Russia, Russia, Ukraine, Ukraine, Ukraine, FISA, the Fake Dossier, & much more, purposely & Illegally DESTROYED & DELETED all of the Evidence, Findings, & Proof of the January 6th Committee? When will Deranged Jack Smith Criminally Charge the Committee?” Trump wrote on Truth Social, his social media website.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee set Set. 6 for the arraignment of Trump and his alleged co-conspirators for the case brought by a state prosecutor. Joe Biden won in Georgia by 12,670 votes out of over 5 million votes case, according to the hand count audit required by state law. It was the first time a Democrat had won in George since 1992, when voters in the Peach State chose Bill Clinton over incumbent President George H.W. Bush.
