DRUMMOND, TARR, SPOHNHOLZ, GUTTENBERG SAT IT OUT

Rep. David Eastman asked for a moment of silence for all the babies who had lost their lives to abortion since the passage of Roe vs. Wade 45 years ago.

He made the request during the “special orders” part of the House floor session on Monday, labeling his remarks “On the Topic of Sanctity.” He spoke about the 60 million abortions under Roe vs. Wade, and the sanctity of human life.

Almost all House members stood in recognition — even left-leaning Rep. Scott Kawasaki. Most bowed their heads.

However, Rep. Geran Tarr, Harriet Drummond, and Ivy Spohnholz — the urban women of the far Left — sat unmoved. Rep. David Guttenberg of Fairbanks also sat. Although Rep. Louise Stutes appeared to be encouraging Tarr to be polite, she waved her off.

The moment of silence lasted a full five seconds.

Later, many Republican members of the House and Senate gathered in front of the Capitol for a rally for life, an annual event marking National Sanctity of Human Life Day. Non-aligned Jason Grenn and Daniel Ortiz were not in attendance, while Democrats Rep. Matt Claman and Kawasaki slipped out the side door of the Capitol, so as not to be associated with the group. They headed down the hill for lunch. Neither the governor nor lieutenant governor attended, and did not send anyone in their place.

While Toni Mallott, married to Lt. Gov. Byron Mallott, spoke at the women’s rally on Saturday, she did not attend the life rally on Monday, nor did First Lady Donna Walker.

  1. Geran Tarr has been a disaster from the time she started work in the Alaska legislature as an aide. I hoped she’d be kicked to the curb by now. She’s such a slug.

    • There is a reason that so many feminist take on the title Jezebel for themselves. Can’t do that without sacrificing children.

  2. Thanks, Suzanne, for the names.

    On election day, let’s be sure to remember our very own Band of Baby-Butcher Backers, Representatives Geran Tarr, Harriet Drummond, Ivy Spohnholz, David Guttenberg, Matt Claman and Scott Kawasaki.

    Let’s give a a shout out to the rest of The Team, Planned Parenthood lobbyists Alyson Currey, Mark Hickey, and Caren Robinson. Okay you can’t vote for lobbyists, but you can buy them just like politicians, except cheaper.

    They’ve worked so hard to bring a whole new meaning to “take a knee”, no?

  3. It’s time. In support of a “Right To Life” Amendment to the US Constitution:
    Whereas, the Supreme Court of the United States has overreached in composing rights and laws out of thin air, not being found in the Constitution, and not even following their own precedent; and,
    Whereas, the souls of more than fifty-nine million murdered babies from the United States cry out for justice; and,
    Whereas, we need to act to protect the right to life of all humans, certain exceptions to be included; and,
    Whereas, the only way for the people to correct the bad decisions of the Supreme Court in Roe v. Wade (1973) and Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt (2016) is through Amendment to the United States Constitution:
    Therefore be it resolved, that we support the following proposed Right To Life Amendment to the U.S. Constitution:

    The right to life, from conception to natural death, shall not be abridged,
    except for:
    Self-defense, when the minimum force necessary to protect one’s self is used – terminating a pregnancy for any reason other than saving the physical life of the mother shall not be construed to be self-defense;
    during a lawfully declared war against another nation or political entity;
    and for capital punishment administered by the States or Federal government after due process for heinous felonies determined by the States or Federal government to require the execution of the convicted felon to protect the public.

    • The feds do plenty of things with no authority from the constitution… Like drug prohibition, the FISA courts spying programs etc… You cant complain about one and not go after the others.

  4. After they get abortion banned it will be on to banning birth control. And then divorce. After than they’ll start burning the protestant heretics at the stake. We have 2000 years of history to judge the Catholic Church. The leopard does not change its spots.

    • Smoking your history books James? Christians are not leopards, and your other fears are unfounded. I support your freedom to be opposed to Christianity, though I have a very strong objection to murdering babies. Big difference between preventing conception and destroying the product – the baby. Divorce is a concession to human sinfulness – sometimes it’s even the right thing to do ( I can refer you to appropriate Bible verses if you care), though there is far too much divorce and not enough commitment. As for burning heretics… didn’t work before and I think we’ve learned it won’t work again: “a man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still.” (source unknown, sorry).
