Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel called for the resignation of Secretary of State Antony Blinken over the hostage crisis in Afghanistan, where perhaps over 100 Americans are being held against their will as they attempt to leave the country.
“As the Biden administration continues to peddle lies and claim victory for their failed withdrawal from Afghanistan, Biden’s Secretary of State Antony Blinken admitted Americans are being held hostage by the Taliban. Organizing the safe evacuation of Americans was Blinken’s direct responsibility and he failed. Biden must fire Blinken,” McDaniel said in a statement.
For nearly a week, Americans onboard six jets that are at the airport in Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan’s fourth-largest city. The Taliban will not allow them to exit, the State Department says. There are believed to be a mix of Americans and Afghan allies among the 1,000 passengers who are being held at the airport by the Taliban.
Blinken yesterday said “We are not aware of anyone being held on an aircraft or any hostage-like situation in Mazar-i-Sharif.”
Today, he said, “The Taliban are not permitting the charter flights to depart.”
Blinken said the Taliban hasn’t prevented the departure of those with a valid document. But there are people on the planes that may not have their documents, and they can’t leave, so the entire plane cannot leave.
“Because all of these people are grouped together, that’s meant that flights have not been allowed to go,” Blinken told reporters.
Among those planes is one chartered by Juneau-based Goldbelt Inc., an Alaska Native corporation with numerous military contracts. One of those contracts is to extract American citizens and Afghan allies from Afghanistan.
A person familiar with the evacuation operation told Politico that the Taliban are stopping flights from taking off because they want to see paperwork and manifests for all the passengers, but the reason the militants are demanding such things is because the State Department has told the Taliban it doesn’t know who is on the planes.
McDaniel should raise her sights a little. The entire snake with ‘medusa’s heads’ needs to be fired by the American people. Sooner would be better than later. Oops, forgot. Uncle Mitt is one of them. Dang.
If these Johnny- come-lately complainers would have at least TRIED to stop the steal last year they would have a little bit of credibility.

I was stuck in a foreign airport on a non-scheduled flight. The airport security eventually offered to sell us some coins of dubious numismatic characteristics, so we decline. Twelve hours later we paid the ransom and came home. By the time this debacle is over, we will pay an enormous ransom. The current administration isn’t very smart. Hopefully, they don’t need to see beheadings before realizing the Taliban is dead serious.
Nothing will happen. The members of the DC deep swamp are Teflon Dons. They’ll play dumb (good at it), give us word soup and more nonsense, and their mainstream media will cover them or not report it at all. Same thing with Dr Fauci, he’s tied to the Wuhan labs yet nothing will happen to him except he’ll get richer and richer.
Biden and some of his advisors were around for Obama’s administrations decisions to bomb Libya (this will stabilize the area), arm ISIS in Syria (they will overthrow Assad), and release of Taliban prisoners (they will go back to goat herding). They are a danger to the nation.

Where were McDaniel’s calls for resignation when the US military mission in Yemen resulted in 4 Navy Seal deaths? The mission was arguably a failure. Its intent was arguably unnecessary. It was a show of strength that resulted in the deaths of 4 promising young Americans. It had no strategic benefit to begin with.
As for Afganistan, it’s a bipartisan failure 20 years in the making. Calls for resignation from Republicans who were steadfastly behind the pullout and strategy that led to chaos are just empty political suits pretending to know better when they were the ones beating the drum as it escalated. In fact, McDaniel criticized the current administration for taking too long, when we now know a faster pullout would have ended with more bloodshed and chaos. Now Republicans are demanding we stick around, and kill more American soldiers for a mission that hasn’t been effective since we got distracted and invaded Iraq. Enough is enough. Everyone can admit that Afganistan was a total failure. Calls for resignation now, while ignoring the failure for 20 years is pathetic. Where were the calls in 2001 when we invaded? Or in 2003 when we went after Saddam who had “WMDs”? And where are those darn WMDs anyway?
When you figure out how to turn the clock back we’ll ask for those resignations too.
Until then, this is 2021 and Biden is in The White House.
