On Election Day, the lead story on the public broadcasting station for Dillingham and surrounding areas was a promotion for candidate Al Gross.

Senate candidate Dr. Al Gross talks plans to support Bristol Bay economy if elected the headline still reads at KDLG, as of Thursday morning.

“Independent Dr. Al Gross talked to KDLG about how he plans to grow the economy of Bristol Bay by supporting fishermen and developing renewable energy resources,” the story continues.

“Why wouldn’t you vote for a guy like that, if you live in the area?” commented one KDLG listener to Must Read Alaska.

“Gross’ campaign reached out to KDLG to share how he plans to help residents in the region,” the report says.

KDLG is licensed and operates out of the Dillingham School District offices. It is a member station of NPR, APRN, PRI, and American Public Media and has a coverage area the size of the state of Ohio, according to the station.

  1. Public radio in Dillingham and Bethel are nothing but the pubic propaganda arm of Bryce Edgemond and Lyman Hoffman. That’s how they stay elected.

What went on in Dillingham is absolutely nothing, compared to what went on with KYUK’s fear mongering and voter suppression tactics to keep Zulkowski in the cash cow house chair seat.

  2. In the past KDLG was also re-broadcast in Sand Point and other Aleutian villages. Not sure if they still do, but it sounds like a case for some action against the stations leadership.

  3. Everyone seems to agree some action to level the playing field should be taken but by who..? agains who..??…having a public radio station might be fine but who gets to determine what “truth in broadcasting” is..??

  4. Yeah kdlg and the speaker have had a butt sniffing contest going on for some time now. It’s a very small little pocket of the great state of Alaska that has an abscess that needs to be lanced.

  5. What do you expect? They are an affiliate of NPR ( National Propaganda Radio). Somehow these Democratic Party mouthpieces always seem to obtain funding not only from Congress, but also through our State legislature.

  6. “…plans to grow the economy of Bristol Bay by supporting fishermen…” By supporting Seattle /Portland fishermen? How’s that help Bristol Bay’s economy?

  7. I have lost track of how 2021 state funding for Public Broadcasting finally resolved. I think it’s entirely out of the budget after being vetoed, overridden and then vetoed again. But please correct me if I am wrong. In any event, we need federal funding of Public Broadcasting to stop. Shame on us for not taking care of that during the past 4 years. And believe me, KLDG is bad but no worse than any other part or franchise of Public Broadcasting.

  8. Public Broadcasting is a publicly funded arm of the Democrat Party. Every Republican knows this and the Democrat Party depends on it. Shame on Republicans for supporting it in any way

  9. “Public” media (radio/tv/web) is now wholly owned by The Democrat Party. If you’re contributing then you are expressing your personal approval of its extreme socialist agenda. Save your money. You’ll need every penny to pay the higher commodity prices and taxes they have in store for your family.
