On Thursday, the Anchorage Police Department received reports of a bomb threat at Mears Middle School. An adult male who allegedly made the threat had left the school by the time police arrived. He was found and arrested down the road from the school.

The suspect, 43-year-old Matthew Geitz, was charged with making a terroristic threat. He is detained at the Anchorage Jail. No bomb was ever located at the school.

The Anchorage Police Department is working with the Anchorage School District and the investigation is ongoing. Geitz has had a number of protective orders against him, according to his Alaska court record.

On Friday, an Anchorage Police Department School resource officer responded to Stellar Secondary School concerning a weapons-related threat made on social media against the school by a student. The officer contacted the student, who was taken into custody.

It was ultimately determined there were no weapons brought to the school, nor did the student take any additional steps after making the threat to hurt anyone. Charges for the student were forwarded to the Division of Juvenile Justice.

  1. So ” Geitz has had a number of protective orders against him” . Are we going to wait until he really follows through with a threat before putting him away for awhile?

    • Of course.
There is no way the Anchorage Assembly will be able to pass restrictive gun control laws without a good school shooting. Leftists love dead kids. It moves their agenda forward.

  2. “……Geitz has had a number of protective orders against him, according to his Alaska court record…….”
Oh, he’s not really a threat. Let him go again. You can arrest him again the next time he makes a bomb threat.

  3. I think the police should look more into the matter behind the Steller student’s motive for his making threat. I bet it another dumb adult teacher and kids antagonizing and agitating the poor boy who probably dislikes the people at the school.

I told a former new hire I was training after hearing her phone calls the school was making to her about her son,” she needs to take her oldest out of public school, since he is only nine, and enroll him in Raven or Idea to have them help her and the stay at home dad homeschool him. Cause the last thing Alaska needs is another angry black man in jail.” the schools don’t care about holding their bad teachers and staff accountable. She wasn’t with us more than a week, I pray she and the dad heard the wisdom and took the boy out before it was too late. Cause he was a good boy at home. However at school it brought the worse out of him.

  4. A quick stop at the city dock with an outgoing tide will cure the problem. How many people are over and done with this lawlessness???? There is an easy cure but these judges need changed out.
