Mount McKinley is back, it’s the Gulf of America, no more Paris Agreement, and J-6ers will be freed

President Donald Trump is renaming Denali to its previous name, Mount McKinley. It is among the many first actions that Trump is taking early in his presidency.

McKinley was named after a president who served from 1897 until his assassination in 1901. A Republican, he made Republicans a dominant force as a new party, standing for progress and industrial might.

Then, in 2015, President Barack Obama renamed it Denali with an executive order. Trump is undoing that action as he returns to the White House.

The national park is still named Denali.

He said he is also renaming the Gulf of Mexico the “Gulf of America” which covers all the Americas in North, Central and South America that touch the Gulf.

Trump will also withdraw the United States from the Paris climate agreement. This is the second time he has removed America from the agreement that was adopted, most recently by President Joe Biden in 2021.

He also hinted today that he will be pardoning or giving clemency to the Jan. 6, 2021 political prisoners.

    • Brands typically enhance valuation. DJT has more branding experience than all of the rest of presidents and candidates combined. It is a no-brainer for him to build the brand.

    • Personally, I like the changes. Bold move, Trump.
Since all of the criminals who tried to prosecute you, or even kill you, you can get even by forcing them to acknowledge your presidential preferences. Now THATs the way to get even.?

      • If Trump successfully negotiates Ukraine back under the Russian flag, maybe we can rename the Gulf of Alaska into the Gulf of Trump? I mean, really, who would care except Alaska Natives and Democrats? The Russians would love it, and the Canadians don’t matter.

  1. The Paris Climate Accord was nothing but a money laundering scheme by Obama and other world elite. The US paid millions for green energy projects in third world countries with zero accountability. Thankfully that cash cow has been put out to pasture.

    • From 2015 during the year of adoption of the Paris Agreement (formally adopted December 12, 2015):
The U.N.’s climate chief, Christiana Figueres, says openly that the aim of the talks is “to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the industrial revolution.” That outlook will be welcome among attendees like the delegation from Bolivia. That country’s official material submitted for the talks proposes a “lasting solution” for climate change: “We must destroy capitalism.”

  2. Thumbs on these name changes.

BIG thumbs down on Trump creating a new tax bureacrcy to charge Americans more taxes.

I used to own a manufacturing company. I passed all costs on to the consumer for the end product. That’s what companies do. Hihger tariffs that Trump wants will be passed along to Americans. This will be inflationary.

This is why I don’t trust Trump, a former Democrat.

    • You could have a company that has to compete against Chinese product coming into this country at a way cheaper rate than when you can produce it. What would you do to level the playing field?
American workers went 20 $30 an hour so our products cost more than these Third World countries that the labor is pennies to the dollar.

      • Mark, I want free markets. So do most Americans, even if they don’t know it. Every Walmart or Home Depot shopper enjoys lower prices because there are people still willing to work for less then $3 dollars an hour overseas.

I don’t want to bring back American workers if I’ll have to pay two to three time more for every product. Hell, I’m not happy about a new truck costing $100,000 or more. BS.

        • That’s for sure. Your new iPhone will now cost $2000. And that nice big screen TV – you can double that cost as well.

If it’s revenge you want, tariffs that blow up in your face are not the way to obtain it.

          • Do you support raising the minimum wage? If so, you better also support tariffs.
            .
Because of the two, tariffs have a better potential of improving the economy. They are a negotiation tool, and can leverage US buying power against foreign manufacturing power. Whereas, minimum wage hikes have no benefit to the end consumer.

        • Well there is a choice we can work for 20 to 50 dollars and hour and buy 100000 trucks or we can not have jobs and buy the cheaper model.
Every time somebody gets a raise the end product costs more so it is raise prices raise wages circle.
So what do you want cheap China products or a good paying job?
Yes gas was 50 cent a gallon and milk was cheap but everybody wants more money so prices go up.

          • And you will get higher priced goods as the tariffs are a great way to trigger higher inflation- making your dollars worth less.

  3. Unhappy he is converting back to “Mt McKinley” from Denali. I am sure most Alaska natives agree with me. Denali has so much more meaning to Alaskans, especially since McKinley never set foot in Alaska.

Interesting to see if the Gulf is changed to Gulf of America, as well as seeing how China reacts to the US taking back the Panama Canal. Should be very interesting.

    • I wholeheartedly agree! He should have left Denali alone. McKinley could have been honored some other way than renaming Denali back to a dead president who never set foot in Alaska. That whole thing was a spit in the eye to Alaska natives and indeed to first peoples everywhere. The whole thing reeks of 19th Century American exceptionalism at the cost of native lives. As far as the Gulf of America goes, that has been the Gulf of Mexico for at least as long as I have been alive (84+ years). There is more than enough to do without engaging in a bunch of meaningless name changing. Get on to the real tasks!

  4. He renamed Gulf of Mexico to Gulf of America to void Biden’s EO on drilling – Agree
Paris Climate Hoax – Agree with withdrawal
    Free J6’ers – Agree
Rename Denali – OH HELL NO

      • Me too. Those of us that have lived here our entire life have always called it Mt. McKinley – even after Obama changed the name. Also the Alaska legislature at that time took it upon themselves to push the name change without putting it to a vote to Alaskan residents so not all Alaskans supported or liked the change

  5. The rebels on Stone Mountain in Georgia should be defaced for their attempt to destroy the progress and industrial might of our great nation and replace it with a failed system based on slavery.

  6. I just looked through Trump’s executive orders quickly, but I didn’t see anything that would lower the price of eggs. Did I miss something?

    • Sure is quite the legacy for Biden to leave behind, he will be known for pardoning his entire family for any and all crimes they committed and for high egg prices.

    • Since you are a leftist, therefore a child incapable of understanding cause leads to effect relationships, I will point it out to you.
Every EO that frees up energy production makes all products made in the USA cheaper. Pulling out of the Paris accord, which just moves money from the US to countries that hate us, makes everything cheaper in the USA. Stopping the EV requirement makes moving products cheaper reducing costs.
      .
      And the list goes on.

      • You really choose to live your life tremendously under educated don’t you? Trump’s entire economic plan is even more unicorns and rainbows than the dems. Trump promised to lower prices, but he walked that back before he even took office. Face it, if you believed in Trump, you got conned. But, hey, enjoy your $trump coins, you helped make him even more rich, sucker.

        • Please help me here, Greg.
How is freeing up energy and subsequently reducing the cost of doing business the words of a communist? How is letting individuals make their own choice of vehicle without (WITHOUT) a government mandate forcing their hands communist in any way?
          .
Of are you just posting a comment because you are excited to see your trivial thoughts in print?

    • You seemed to be okay with the price of eggs under Joe Biden. It took him four years to screw up our economy with an overwhelming amount of burdensome regulation and porkbarrel spending (that created inflation). It will will take time to unravel all of that and bring some sanity back to our economy.

        • Biden did EXACTLY that.
Day one, Biden signed EOs that crippled energy production, and put thousands out of work. The “Inflation Reduction Act” actually did the opposite. His FDA closed down egg production for trivial offenses easily remediated.
          .
Perhaps if you did not spend the last four years concentrating on your hatred of Trump, you might have noticed some of the anti-business and anti-individual things Biden pushed for.

  7. Bwaahahahaaaa.

Half of Alaskans are happy it’s McKinley.

The other half are in Anchorage and hate Trump anyways.

    • The majority of those who live in Los Anchorage are NOT real Alaskans, and everyone knows it.
They are mostly carpetbaggers from Caliunicornia and other Left Coast cesspools who are determined to spread their demented filth and statism here and to the rest of the country.
They are a disease that needs to be cured.

  8. Much of what is being experienced is the simple shock of the Donald rejecting various, hopefully many, acts of “political correctness” that have been emasculating the US for decades. The Left, through the re-definition of many terms, have sought to make Americans believe that weak actually means strong and thar evil actually means good. The Donald is going to challenge a lot of that stuff. I wish him well.

On a related topic, and I will throw it in here: The Department of Justice in recent years, has become about the most politicized agency of the Federal government. I would guess that ninety percent of lawyers in the department hold the same Leftist views and are not serving the citizens but rather their own interests, including amassing power. There are reports that there may be mass resignations. If that happens, it would be a great result.

  9. A mixed bag, to be sure. I don’t know where ANY president has the authority to re-name mountains. Obama, Trump or anyone. That’s why they tried to go thru congress, which failed repeatedly. McKinley was not a great president, he began American imperialism with the Spanish War of 1898, a “newspaper war” if there ever was one. But he 1) kept us on the gold standard, and 2) WAS assassinated. And JFK never set foot in Canada, but they named a mtn for him, which Brother Bobby was the 1st to scale … after it was named for another assassinated prez, who had a “D” after his name. And renaming the Gulf? Again, where does the authority come from? Well, if secular historians have re-named our calendar from BC/AD to BCE/CE, and NOBODY voted for THAT, maybe Trump could return us to “Before Christ” and “Anno Domini”. By the way, AD stands for “In the Year of Our Lord”, not the oft-repeated “After Death”. Mama mia. Looking forward to the liberals commentary.

  10. Seriously, he’s not done with EO’s. Those were just the first ones he signed. I guess you anticipated prices dropping the second he was sworn in.

    • You can’t be serious (lol). When was the last time a DC politician listened to anyone? But your idea does resonate with most of us, I am sure.

  11. For decades Alaskans took pride in calling the mountain Denali, saying that only Outsiders called it McKinley.

How quickly they now throw away that pride just so that Trump can troll Obama and the Dems.

    • Agreed! Instead of seeking to rename mountains and gulfs, get down to the serious work of governing the country and lowering food prices and gas prices so we can afford food and transportation again!

    • Incorrect again. I’ve been here since ‘69 and it’s been McKinley all along. Denali is a phony marketing term that has no meaning, much as is the case w/ comments on this blog that assume consent or agreement from others.

      • The dog is always wrong because he went the ASD for his education.
They taught him how to bark and chase cars.
Forgive dogs lack of common sense.

    • I checked the EO.
It did not say anything about how the average Alaskan can address the mountain. It does not outlaw the use of Denali to refer to North America’s highest peak in any way.
      .
Typical response from the left. The President says Federally, it is to be called Mt. McKinley, and you assume it is now illegal to call it Denali in your personal life. Then again, leftists think the elected officials have absolute power and are in control of everything.

    • Don’t worry, all 47’s predecessors legacies will be dissolved over the next 4 years. No one will remember their division of our people.

    • You should be a little more careful with those absolutes. Around the turn of the century, we were told that Sheldon Point was renamed to Nunam Iqua because Sheldon was some random white man no one remembers and the Natives never called it by that name. Several years ago, I came across the 1971 AFN convention program. On the inside front cover, they attribute the cover photo of a female elder, stating that she hailed from (are you ready?) Sheldon Point. Wait, we were told the Natives never used that name, yet I just pointed out a source which says otherwise. This is why certain people want the rest of us to be addicted to whatever Google spoon-feeds you and ignorant of history.

    • I am so glad that he is undoing this Obama action! Every Alaskan I know has always called it McKinley (except for Outsiders/greenies).

  12. TDS has raised its ugly head amongst the theory class …. I’m not sure there is a cure. Best to just let them suffer in peace.

  13. I don’t care either way about the name changes.
However, I am glad we got away (again) from the Paris accord. It puts a big economic and restrictive burden on America, but lets the biggest polluters totally off the hook.

As for pardoning non criminals (none of the detained J6rs were even charged with any crimes at all.

The price of eggs and gas will eventually go down. Trump never said he could do it over night.

  14. Do you remember what happened with Trumps first Tariffs? It increased the cost of all affected products, do you remember what happened to the Farmers products during his Tariffs, China retaliated and stopped buying the farmers products so Trump started passing out $25 Billion per year to the farmers to make up, do you remember gas prices were so low Trump met wit OPEC and Russia to cut back on production in 2020 because the Oil companies were not making enough profits, well they cut back on production and the results are higher gas prices at the pumps. Tariffs are a tax on the consumers (us), Trump cut taxes for the rich and raise taxes on the consumers (us) to make up for the difference. I agree with “M” above who experienced passing the tariffs to consumers, I have the same experience, oh, what about the American businesses? The tariffs can have the potential to increase their profits which will increase prices. Trump is investing heavily in bitcoin, bibles, shoes, watches etc what a Con.

  15. None of these re-names matter much beyond making a point to the woke crowd, which is long overdue! Trump got many folks talking about these things now didn’t he?
The re-names that will matter are things like the second C in CCP becoming the word ‘Capitalist’ instead of communist! Or the I in IRS becoming an E for External, resulting in a massive reduction in the tax burden for all Americans. DEI hiring being replaced with Meritocracy, long overdue. Undocumented immigrant label now returning to illegal Alien!
So, let’s un-wad our panties a bit and savor the fact that President Trump is now serving a second term after truly winning three.
Denali-McKinley….big mountain – but not big fish!
