Mayor-elect Bronson: ‘Let’s get to work’

Mayor Dave and Deb Bronson

Dave Bronson accepted his victory on Friday night, telling Anchorage it is time to pull together and get to work:

“Tonight’s numbers solidify our lead in this race. I am extremely humbled by the people of Anchorage and their decision to elect me as Mayor. This was a hard fought battle, and I know that there are some in Anchorage who did not vote for me. As Mayor I will work to bring this city back together so we can make Anchorage more vibrant than ever. I want to thank my supporters. From the beginning, this campaign was a voice for the people. We had hundreds of volunteers who wanted to see this city go in a new direction, and now I can confidently tell them we are headed that way!” he wrote.

Bronson thanked his staff and also thanked his primary opponent Forrest Dunbar for having “important conversations throughout the campaign.”

“Thank you to my staff and family who helped me through this whole process. Also, thank you to Forrest and his campaign. We had a lot of important conversations throughout this election, and I look forward to continuing to have them. Thank you Anchorage; now let’s get to work,” Bronson wrote.

Bronson worked with Axiom Strategies and Art Hackney Communications as his paid team, but he had hundreds of volunteers who worked tirelessly on his campaign since he announced last Aug. 24, 2020.

With 90,587 votes counted, Bronson leads with 45,899 to Dunbar’s 44,698. The Anchorage Assembly reviews and certifies the election on Tuesday, and Bronson will be sworn in on July 1. He has already started working on the transition to his administration,.

  1. Thank You for the update! Susan Downing .However, Dunbar and the liberal assembly does not see that what has happened to the citizens of Anchorage was due to their Draconian Policy !!

  2. I posted this in the Barb bans the binos story, but it might help here too. The first thing I would do if I was Bronson is figure out a way to hire Jovan Hutton Pulitzer to do a forensic audit of the election. We all know that mail in voting is pushed by leftists to steal elections. There is no doubt mail in voter fraud happened in this race too, so prove it. The process takes time, so get on it right away.
    After we find out how much voter fraud was committed by the left it provides two things. It solidifies the result that Bronson won. Secondly it provides the ammunition needed to kill mail in voting once and for all. Then you can take actions to secure all future elections.
    If the new mayor doesn’t do this, the left will figure out a way to cheat on a larger scale, especially for assembly races to stop Bronson’s agenda.
    Watch what comes out of Arizona as proof.
    Too bad Kevin Meyer and the rest of the State is refusing to do a damn thing about voter fraud in Alaska by starting with our own forensic audit of the 2020 elections.

  3. Why does he have to wait so long to be sworn in. It isn’t like he’s taking the place of an elected mayor. The so called acting mayor isn’t legitimate so replacement should be immediate. It would have been immediate if they would have followed the rules and had their emergency 90 day election, so they now have had a legitimate election finally, and now have a legitimate elected mayor to take over immediately.

  4. First step of Bronson should be to replace every position occupied by anyone appointed by former mayor Ethan Berkowitz and/or faux mayor Austin Quinn Davidson. Sweeping the rats off of the ship allows for smooth sailing ahead. After all, elections have consequences.

  5. Everybody knows that this election was rigged – the fire alarms went off during the counting!! Bronson’s people were in there with boxes of votes shipped in from Wasilla!
    Dunbar could only have lost if the election was rigged! I will not recognize Bronson as the legitimate Mayor of Anchorage! Fraud is rampant in the election system. Dead people are voting! The voting machines have been compromised!
    To arms Patriots! Storm the vote counting rooms! STOP THE STEAL. And, hey, let’s hire an unqualified firm next month to do a recount in order to FIND THE FRAUD.

    Now, doesn’t the Big Lie sound silly when a Conservative has won?

    Respect the process, respect the results. Win or lose, that’s how Democracy works in this Country.

  6. I hope he takes charge like Rudy Giuliani did in New York. Stop the drug and gang activity starting with tinted windows and modified exhausts that includes motorcycles. Bring back emission checks . Bring in revenue to tackle other things. Make Anchorage a peaceful guiter city. My 2 cents. 2a

  7. Pray for this man and his team!
    He has a little less than half the Anchorage voters standing against him, and most of the Assembly countering him. He really needs strength, wisdom and, especially, resilience or he will end up dunleavying out on conservative constituents.

  8. Social control is not the job description of assembly persons. Welcome to Anchorage domestic tranquilities.

  9. With Dave Bronson as our elected mayor, we are much closer to being able to sing “Happy Days Are Here Again!” Anchorage voters, thank you very much.

  10. Congratulations Mayor elect Bronson!
    I do think though, there needs to be an audit on this election. In my humble opinion, I just can’t fathom so many votes for a leftist

  11. Thank God for answering my prayer and helping us to regain our God Given Liberties here in Alaska! God Speed and all best wishes to Mayor Elect Dave Bronson! The epidemic of homeless people in Anchorage will be one of the pressing issues the Mayor Elect will need to deal with early on. Many of these homeless people are alcoholics or drug addicts with serious substance abuse issues that need professional medical help and rehabilitation, above and beyond just a cot in a warm building to sleep in the cold winter months, and a free meal from Brother Francis Shelter or the Beans Cafe! I pray Mayor Elect Bronson will come up with a workable plan to get these people off the streets and help them get the professional help they need to overcome their addiction issues and to give them a chance for a better life.

  12. God bless you Bronson
    Wait Bronson did not Trash talk Dunbar. O wait thats what you supposed to do, Not Trash the other guy.

  13. Dog….
    Thanks for the reminder. There is certainly much unfinished business with the fraudulent election of a few months back. Patriots are digging into that and uncovering an unbelievable amount of evidence. Nothing like proving what many knew to be fact on the morning of the 5th.
    As to the Anchorage mayoral election, godspeed Mr. Bronson.

  14. So so happy! I am a ‘Palmerite’ but have hoped and prayed for a Bronson victory for Anchorage.. I do agree with Alan and others above though – I also truly believe there was meddling, snd that mail in voting leaves an election hugely open to fraud. I would venture to say had the election been predominantly at the polls the gap between the two candidates would have been much higher in Bronson’s favor. Why is it that the left are the only ones pushing for mail in ballots nationwide? And nationwide there have been documented charges of foul play. A good forensic audit could be very interesting.

  15. Replying to comments about the Nov election needing an investigation:
    I had forgotten about receiving a letter shortly after the vote from Lt Gov’s office that my personal data may have been compromised during the election. Never heard another word and wondered just exactly what that meant……..Now with all the proof of fraud I would sure like to know more. What machines do we use? Were they hacked? After all, AK was the poster child for the movie “Kill Chain”.

  16. Praise the Lord! Finally, a true conservative mayor has been elected to govern Anchorage. Don’t settle for second best; thank the Lord Anchorage Did not in 2021! God bless you, Mayor-elect Bronson.

  17. Ohh dog is pouting…….. sympathy party……sympathy party of one..?

    Why do you even post here? Trolling or just sadism? This is not the forum for you……..

  18. Wow, I’m surprised, shocked actually, he won. Good! I really didn’t believe enough of the right would band together to do it but it happened. Maybe this city can be saved after all. Prevent another Portland.

  19. Congrats Bronson! Indeed, let’s get to work. First order of biz … cut the budget and layoff 50% of the Muni workforce.
    Git-R-Done!!!

  20. Even though it’s very close, there are still more people with common sense instincts than those without it. The woke, Lefties, Communists, and haters cannot be in charge. They leave things in ruin. Enjoy the Mayor’s office, Dave. But don’t forget who your enemies are. Not for one minute. Lest, they stab you in the back like the cowards that they are.

    President Trump failed in firing obamas cronies/shills and comrades in Jan 2017 and it cost President Trump dearly

    Mayor Elect Bronson needs to SWING THE MEAT AXE AND CLEAN HOUSE THOROUGHLY, IMMEDIATELY –
    Lots of shills are lurking in the employee roster for MOA. So how many hardcore dunbar supporters are MOA employees ?

    Mr. Mayor — if you fail to clean house you will suffer in the end. You have the BIG SIX on the assembly who are waiting to sabotage anything you try to do. Comrade Dunbar and his 5 socialist accomplices want more than a piece of you. BEWARE
    ..

  22. Wow, didn’t think I’d see it. I thought the Dems would pull a last minute trick and pull it off. Thanks to all the campaign supporters and those who stood vigilante throughout the vote count. Its not over though, I’m sure the Dems are studying how they lost and will come up with new shananigans for the next election. Good luck Mayor Bronson.

  23. Mr. Bronson brings a breath of fresh air to Anchorage and its citizens. I have a feeling that his presence at Assembly meetings will bring back civility and temper the rhetoric of the thugocracy.

  24. First and foremost Mayor Bronson needs to freeze all actions taken by the assembly and the fake mayor after her 90 day term ended. They broke the charter of Anchorage and everything following her 90 days should be null and void, as well as she should have to file and re run for her empty seat that the city clerk held open.

  25. I’m so happy for the folks in Anchorage! Well done, now you need to get rid of the crony political hacks in the City Council and place folks in their that will work with the mayor to actually represent the people of Anchorage and bring positive changes to expand your liberty and prosperity.

  26. I am overjoyed Branson won. Now we will see if he is tough enough to take on these corrupt leftist. I’m serious. He needs to be ruthless to get this city in order. No Mr. Nice guy.

  27. Okay, Mr. Mayor, let’s get to work…
    .
    commission an outside forensic audit of city finances and management practices, identify funded positions versus filled positions; return “slush funds” to taxpayers;
    .
    terminate executive-branch employees and consultants hired during Berkowitz and Quinn administrations, terminate lobbyist contracts;
    .
    veto upcoming sales-tax ordinances;
    .
    sponsor ordinances to repeal alcohol and fuel taxes, stop collecting them, refuse to enforce plastic-bag ban;
    .
    propose payment-in-lieu-of-taxes for non-profit organizations, including recipients of American Rescue Plan funds;
    .
    restructure building-code permit and building-code enforcement processes to make them less expensive, less adversarial, less vulnerable to habitual, spurious complaints;
    .
    remove municipal code enforcers hired during Berkowitz and Quinn administrations;
    .
    verify at least annually that city voter rolls are accurate and current, generate strategy for limiting effects of fake ballots, postal fraud, nursing-home resident coercion, ballot harvesting, voter impersonation, bribery of voters,
    .
    propose an ordinance to elect the Municipal Clerk;
    .
    sponsor ordinance to repeal mail-in voting, remove Dominion mail-in vote machinery, restore traditional polling-place balloting;
    .
    sponsor ordinance to withdraw Anchorage from the Alaska Municipal League, withdraw Anchorage’s share of money from the $600M+ Alaska Municipal League Investment Pool, return it to taxpayers;
    .
    issue an executive order divesting Municipality from owning or administering housing for homeless, restore and sell city property occupied by homeless camps;
    .
    sponsor ordinance to rebate property taxes paid for in-school services which Anchorage school-district officials did not provide during the China flu “pandemic”;
    .
    share post-Eaglexit vision for Anchorage, what policies and practices will be changed to persuade other groups not to secede, what will be changed to lessen the risk of another 1980’s-style exodus;
    .
    veto budgets which clearly “rubber stamp” school-district and public-employee union demands;
    .
    veto ordinances which undermine Anchorage Police Department arrest and enforcement processes;
    .
    issue an executive order clarifying Anchorage is not a sanctuary city for illegal aliens, Anchorage Police Department will cooperate fully with federal immigration-enforcement actions;
    .
    issue an executive order directing city executives not to attend Assembly meetings conducted in violation of Alaska’s Open Meetings Act (AS 44.62.310-.312);
    .
    issue an executive order directing strict enforcement of private-property rights;
    .
    schedule weekly call-in radio “fireside chats” on the state of the city;
    .
    use Art Chance’s “Red on Blue: Establishing Republican Governance” as the operating manual for city government.
    .
    So, Mr. Mayor, what do we do on the second day?

  28. Watch his chief of staff, city attorney, and Municipal manager choices to see if new Direction was just a slogan.

  29. Looking forward to Bronson and his administration get to work. Will be entirely irritating to see AQD, Dunbar and the rest do everything they can to stonewall. Every. Single. Thing. Bronson implement an agenda? How dare he!

  30. Yep Mr. Mayor Bronson , Morgan has every thing the people of Anchorage wants from their mayor and lots of us here in Fairbanks too. Time to get to work, Sir. Congratulations.
