Former Rep. Lynn Gattis, who has served in the Mat-Su Office of the Governor, is returning to the Capitol Building in Juneau next week as an aide to Rep. Tammie Wilson of North Pole.
Wilson is co-chair of Finance, in charge of the capital budget, in the Democrat-led bipartisan majority.
Gattis served as a House member for District 7 (formerly District 9) from 2012 to 2017.
She served on the House Finance Committee and chaired the subcommittee on administration. She ran for the Senate Seat D post that was being vacated by Sen. Charlie Huggins in 2016, but lost in the primary to Sen. David Wilson. In 2018, she ran for lieutenant governor.
Earlier this year, Gattis took a temporary job with the Governor’s Office as his representative in the Mat-Su. She is a lifelong Alaskan who was raised in rural Alaska and had a career in aviation before becoming involved in politics.

My memory doesn’t keep files on all these folks. I don’t know if this is a good thing or a bad thing.
If she’s working for Tammie Wilson, it’s a very GOOD thing. Tammie won’t let the Democrats push her around in the Finance Committee. Tammie Wilson is like a bloodhound. She can smell corruption, graft, and lying from two miles away.
Actually, about 1000 miles.
Unfortunately for the public, or maybe I should say fortunately, they have not seen the true side of Lynn and her husband. The side they show to people they have every day dealings with. I’m sure my opinion won’t bother her, though, as she has told me in the past “I don’t give a damn about your vote.”
That’s the same comment Rep. Adam Wool (D) told us when we were in his bar, the Blue Loon, having a drink telling him that pot should not be smoked in a bar.
Congrats, Lynn. Tammie is lucky to have you. Mat Su has the loss. I know you believe in our Governor and will do everything to help Tammie see his agenda is successful!
