    • Not sure where you got that information Greg but it isn’t correct, assuming you are talking about covid related deaths. Alaska has 10.9 deaths per 1,000,000 people and that’s with counting 2 people who died out of state so the actual number is lower than that. At 10.9 covid related deaths per 1,000,000 Alaska ranks well down on the list, 41st with DC and Puerto Rico.
Even if you are counting the confirmed death rate Alaska is 26th while still counting the 2 out of state deaths (against CDC guidelines). https://www.realclearpolitics.com/coronavirus/country/united-states/

  1. Health experts say that ending the shutdown prematurely would be disastrous because the restrictions have barely had time to work, and because U.S. leaders have not built up the capacity for alternatives to stay-at-home orders — such as the mass testing, large-scale contact tracing and targeted quarantines that have been used in other countries to suppress the virus.

The Alaska dashboard says we only tested 4 people yesterday.

    • Bill,

If we only tested 4 how, pray tell were there 5 confirmed? Do you really want the people who count those who die out of state as in state deaths when it goes against CDC guidelines to run the testing you so desperately want? How many of the confirmed were done out of state…is it 1 in 5 as the result shows today or is it more??? When will we know how many people in Alaska have tested positive and how many have died? Why do we need to know about people who aren’t here and didn’t contract the virus here?

      • Ask the people who run the dashboard about their counts, , as for your other supposed concerns, you’ll have to work that out like you’re still trying to work out where you stand on whether there is a global pandemic or not. As I said, health experts say that ending the shutdown prematurely would be disastrous because the restrictions have barely had time to work, and because U.S. leaders have not built up the capacity for alternatives to stay-at-home orders — such as the mass testing, large-scale contact tracing and targeted quarantines that have been used in other countries to suppress the virus.

        • Ok, got it Bill. You want more testing, you don’t care who gets tested, where they get tested, the results of the testing, or even if the math of the testing adds up. You just want more testing.
          .
Newsflash Bill if only 4 tests were conducted and even if all of the tests came back positive for covid you cannot get 5 confirmations from 4 tests.
          .
Just to be clear and for the record a global pandemic has been declared, you don’t need to worry yourself anymore about where I stand on if there is a global pandemic or not.

          • I never was worried about where you stood, I knew not to listen to you when you said the whole thing was nothing to worry about.

          • Care to show me where and when I said that Bill? Since you’ve made it clear you don’t care about the results of the testing why do you keep calling for more?

  2. Hey I got an idea, lets just destroy the economy over a few people getting sick with a disease that has a 0.1% fatality rate. But we can make some computer models to make it appear much worse and scare people into complying with unconstitutional mandates that destroys their freedom. What could go wrong besides triggering a Greatest Depression? In the end the sheeple will have lost all their Liberties and we the politicians will have more dictatorial powers, maybe even sneak in a stolen election or two to keep our new found Fascism in tact.

    • Fatality rates differ widely across geographic areas and are dependent on how well people are instituting controls and mandates.

As an example, with 285 known cases in Alaska, we have 9 deaths so far.

That’s 3% of the known cases.
