Christmas awaits!

Here we are at Christmas, 2022. We’re giving politics take a pause, and hope the defenders of liberty can take some time to celebrate the Savior and revisit the wonders of the world, as we share this rock spinning through space and time.

Thank you, all readers, commenters, critics, and friends, and financial supporters for making Must Read Alaska the lively, pithy, and force for good that it is. I appreciate all of you who participate in the great debates of the day — will tyranny be our destiny or will freedom ring? What does freedom look like? Will the Republic survive the madness of modern life?

The debate will continue. For a few days, I’ll be dialing it all back as best I can to spend time with family. I’m hoping that you can, too. After all, it’s Christmas! Let’s find that time for joy, time for peace, and time for kids, cookies, and cocoa after a good spell of shoveling snow. The worries of the world will still be there when we get back.

I hope you’re somewhere warm, but not too warm, and that you are as happy as a kid on Christmas morning, and with people who mean the world to you.

Merry Christmas to all!

  1. Freedom looks like an entire Nation, or a person
returning to God recieving His gift, as an incarcerated resident pointed out “you see the officers, they get to go home, getting outta this place, if a man doesn’t have christ, he ain’t free, here I’m more Free than those men because I been set-free by Jesus.” he’s free of his former way of thinking, insercuities condemning himself, pride that prevented him from loving others and understanding others, peace when he doesn’t understand someone and an issue, and a joyful and thankful spirit he learned the Gospel and while still breathing to experience God’s grace from a geniune repentant heart.
That’s freedom. Its not found in economic and political policies, nor found in laws made, but only found in God’s Word.

    • Yes, and may His word become a light within us shining so brightly with His truth that the darkness flees in fear as His Peace flows from us unimpeded, Amen. Merry Christmas and a Joy filled New Year!!!

      • Maureen, please, PLEASE, alleviate your hate unto others that believe other than you do.

What, really, is your point, or mission?

The denigration of otherwise thinking individuals, to what end?

You shall not change their minds, nor they yours, so what is the point?

        I am sorry for you.

        You hate.

        Why?

Is it that you cannot construct your own existence so that you must strike out at others?

You obviously live within your own existence, why cannot you allow others to do the same?

        Or is that the issue?

You cannot allow others to exist within their own existence, beyond your own?

A sad, sad existence you reside within.

  5. St. Luke 2:13&14
    .
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

    • How did a guy who wasn’t around for that come up with that story? Heck he didn’t even know Jesus. But he knew Paul, the guy who made up a whole bunch of the “Christian” writings.

Turns out Paul did not know Jesus either.

    You may want to ponder
    Don’t let your brain wander
    As Clement C Moore
    Wrote it for sure
    Proper is the name Donder
