The Biden administration on Thursday declared monkeypox a national public health emergency. It came shortly after Biden had appointed Robert Fenton to head the coordinated national response.
The declaration may hasten the distribution of vaccines and tests as case numbers grow. As of Wednesday, 6,617 cases had been diagnosed in all but two states, with the heaviest outbreaks in New York, California, Illinois, Florida, Georgia, and Texas.
“This public health emergency will allow us to explore additional strategies to get vaccines and treatments out more quickly to the impacted communities,” Fenton said. “It will allow us to get more data from jurisdictions so we can effectively track and attack this outbreak.”
New York, California, and Illinois issued public health emergency declarations earlier this week.
The disease is almost exclusively within the gay community of men having sex with multiple men, but, like HIV, that will change in time to include other people having sex with multiple partners. For instance, sex workers may be at risk, as would those with promiscuous lifestyles.
We’re prepared to take our response to the next level in addressing this virus, and we urge every American to take monkeypox seriously and to take responsibility to help us tackle this virus,” Xavier Becerra, secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, said during a media briefing.
The World Health Organization, on its website, says, “Most reported cases so far have been identified through sexual health or other health services in primary or secondary health-care facilities and have involved mainly, but not exclusively, men who have sex with men.”
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, on its website, says, “Monkeypox can spread to anyone through close, personal, often skin-to-skin contact,” and “contact can happen during intimate contact, including oral, anal, and vaginal sex or touching the genitals or anus of a person with monkeypox.” It also says, “A pregnant person can spread the virus to their fetus through the placenta.”
The WHO has advised men to reduce the number of their sexual partners.
“For men who have sex with men, this includes, for the moment, reducing your number of sexual partners, reconsidering sex with new partners, and exchanging contact details with any new partners to enable follow-up if needed,” said the WHO’s Director-General Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus.
The WHO and CDC say the virus can also spread through direct contact with monkeypox rash, scabs, or body fluids from a person with monkeypox, or touching objects, fabrics, and surfaces that someone with monkeypox has used.
Over 90% of all reported monkeypox cases are in young men; however, many have pushed for the destigmatization of those most likely to be infected.
I suggest 2 weeks of abstinence and/ or monogomy and quarantine in the specifically affected communities “to slow the spread”…

Monkeypox only affects LGBTQ and mostly homosexual men. Why is this a national emergency matter? Right up there with Covid? We all know how its transmitted. No mystery there. Health, uncleanliness, immoral, and psychological issues are the drivers. So, if it’s a national emergency, the rest of the straight population should avoid homosexual men for their safety? Is this what the Joe Biden Adminstration expects?
No. Joe Biden thinks that homosexuality is a great thing. It helps reduce the population because there are less births and homosexuals will die from disease as a result of their immoral behavior. Fewer people on the planet will reduce fossil fuel consumption, and thus, less carbon emission which will save the planet. Yes, says Joe. We definitely need more homosexuals.

Did blue state blow through all the COVID money already? Did big pharma and the multinational med supply companies spend all theirs? Cases especially high in San Fran and NYC, wow, didn’t see that coming.
While this will spread to others, like HIV/AIDS, it is and will always remain a disease among the male homosexual community and a gift from them to the overall human race. We will have to put up with this crap for the long haul, including billions of dollars fighting its spread, when all it should require is a small bit of personal discipline from a handful of undisciplined people.
How are they going to turn this into mail in voting and ballot drop boxes.

So a year ago, if you held a church service, you were endangering others.. now we have a disease that basically affects men who have sex with men, and specifically those who have many partners, and no one is going to call out this behavior as, at a minimum, reckless?
That’s where we are at. You’ve government has no problem shaming you, calling you selfish, fining or even imprisoning you, if you go to church when they say not to, but is loathe to tell you that it’s not a good idea for men to have sex with many other male partners, indiscriminately, in the middle of an outbreak of a disease that targets that exact population and behavior.

Any time you go against God’s laws and commandments, the outcome will never, ever be good. Sodomy has been from the beginning of time, and so has the clear warning from God’s Word that it, like all sin, is an abomination, and that sex is clearly to be in the confines of marriage, strictly between a man and a woman. God has much to say in His Holy Word about men having sex with men, women having sex with women and mankind having sex with beasts, animals. Destruction is sure to follow, as it did in the Bible for Sodom and Gomorrah. AIDS, monkey pox and STD’s are the price people pay for choosing to live in that lifestyle. God is a loving and just God, that’s why He forewarns ahead of time. The sad thing is, many don’t care about what God says, so on they go, doing their own thing, what is “right in their own eyes,” destroying themselves and others in the process. Even if you don’t believe in God or His Word, the Truth of God’s Word and God Himself never changes and never will.
