Newly released polling data shows that the majority of Americans report they are falling behind the cost of living.
NBC News released the poll, which found that 58% of Americans disapprove of President Joe Biden’s handling of the economy.
Another 63% of surveyed voters say their income is falling behind the cost of living. That poll points to inflation, which has soared since Biden took office and been a political thorn in Democrats’ side.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released inflation data last week showing that prices rose across a range of items in August, but the overall inflation rate was dampened by an unusual fall in gas prices from record highs in recent weeks.
Many items saw huge increases. Food prices, for instance, have shot up in the last year.
“The food at home index rose 13.5 percent over the last 12 months, the largest 12-month increase since the period ending March 1979,” BLS said. “The index for other food at home rose 16.7 percent and the index for cereals and bakery products increased 16.4 percent over the year. The remaining major grocery store food groups posted increases ranging from 9.4 percent (fruits and vegetables) to 16.2 percent (dairy and related products).”
On top of that, a Morning Consult/Politico poll released in August found that only 24% of those surveyed expect the Inflation Reduction Act to actually reduce inflation while 34% said the legislation will make inflation worse.
The poll showed the gap between Republicans and Democrats narrowing heading into November, and Biden’s approval ticked upward, encouraging Democrats.
However, traditionally Republican issues like the economy, immigration and crime still surpassed other issues like abortion for voters in their decision-making. National Republican Congressional Committee spokesman Mike Berg said that is good news for Republicans.
“Republicans hold a massive advantage on the issues that will decide competitive elections this November,” he said. “Democrats are only talking to their base.”

Yup
Bill Clinton had one thing right: “Its the economy stupid.”
Democrats, in short order, have done everything possible to make life worse for all Americans. They’ve devalued the US Dollar making all Americans poorer. Life is especially tough for the poorest Americans where 1 out of 6 households worries about having enough money just to make utility payments. Those in retirement, or close to it, have watched their 401k accounts fall in value as the markets have responded to the moron policies of the Democrats.
Democrats have also managed to make the hellish life for inner city poor, blacks, even worse as they’ve allowed criminals to go free (no bail) after being arrested for crimes. 800 murders in Chicago last year show Democrat- rule is a total fxxxing disaster for citizens.
Allowing 5 million illegal immigrants in does nothing but raise the costs of rents, particularly for the working poor. All those millions of people want places to live…
Frankly, its amazing Democrats are polling as well as they are. Democrats have made life worse, much worse, for many Americans.
Well if chillingly said, M.
.
And never forget, the illegitimate and rogue regime of usurper Biden has made life worse, much worse, for many Americans DELIBERATELY AND PURPOSELY. There is utterly no possibility that every one of their insane, degenerate and destructive policies were merely due to ignorance or ineptness — it is abundantly clear that they were all part of a willful and carefully coordinated program to take down this nation.
Jefferson- you are spot on. If you flip a coin 50 percent of the time it will be heads. That Biden can be wrong 100 percent of the time is not an accident, its deliberate.
Those left still voting Dem are essentially part of the collective mind, and have given up all free will. They are willing pawns of the elite. No matter how miserable they become under leftist rulers, it will never be enough for them to desert them, because leftism has become their new religion, and leftist leaders their new monarchy. The days of honest policy debate are gone. The leftist orthodoxy now literally tells its quivering masses that inflation is good, a man is a woman, children need to be groomed, the China virus didn’t come from China, it’s ok to murder a child, it’s better to depend on Russia and Saudi Arabia for oil than to drill it ourselves, and many other complete absurdities, and they waiver not an inch in believing them wholly and completely. It is a sad mental illness, and were they not such a threat to all that is good, they would deserve not our ire, but our pity.
Lawrence, what you wrote is brilliant- and worth repeating:
” The leftist orthodoxy now literally tells its quivering masses that inflation is good, a man is a woman, children need to be groomed, the China virus didn’t come from China, it’s ok to murder a child, it’s better to depend on Russia and Saudi Arabia for oil than to drill it ourselves,…”
You absolutely nailed it.
3 Survival tips to get through hard times 1 family whether by blood, close neighbors, church, 2 plant an edible garden even a small one like balcony or indoor garden like indoor counter herb garden, 3 eat healthy and cook at home more reserve eating out for special occasions. I add 4 daily read bible! Pasta goes with anything. Pasta w/peas. Pasta w/garlic. Pasta w/beans. Pasta w/potato. *clara’s great depression cooking youtube. Yesterday i got everything for week at 31$ filling my bag from freddy’s. Yeah….. I don’t need snappy, not yet.i hope never!
Are you saying that you ate for a week on $3? Man, times must be rough in your household. At that rate your PFD will last all year. And herb garden on your kitchen window sill isn’t going to get you through hard times though. I agree that family can help you through with their financial and moral support. It’s more costly to eat healthy than it is to eat cheaply. Eating pasta isn’t necessarily a healthy way to eat either with all those refined carbs. Daily reading the scriptures can help some people ease their minds and knowing that no matter how bleak they think their lives have become, there are people in the world in a lot worse shape. What if you had been born in some little dirt village in Africa or in some rainforest location in Brazil? What if every child you had had died from swollen bellies? It kind of puts everything in perspective that maybe you’re not so bad after all and you should stop feeling sorry for yourself and feel sorry for others.
The percentage of the 63% deserves their cost to go up they voted for it. I hope it goes higher as soon as possible let’s hurry up and crash the world because of the current political Rhetoric.
Were the mean tweets really so bad?
Is your self righteous indignation keeping gas in your car? Food in your stomach? Money in your bank?
