Pat Pitney, who is the Finance director for the Alaska State Legislature in Juneau, is the interim president of the University of Alaska System, the University of Alaska Board of Regents announced today.

Pitney is a former vice chancellor for the Fairbanks campus and was the Office of Management and Budget director for former Gov. Bill Walker.

Former President Jim Johnsen resigned effective July 1 after saying some things in a job interview in Wisconsin that were politically incorrect concerning Alaskans, the Permanent Fund dividend, and white privilege.

  1. I noticed that she was hand-picked by Bill Walker to be his Management and Budget Director. Another one of Walker’s stoolies, and straight out of the UA system in Fairbanks. A lot of these left-winger’s who came to work for Walker in 2014 were from Fairbanks. Jim Whitiker former mayor of FNSB. Luke Hopkins, former mayor of FNSB. Hopkin’s son and Adam Wool both in the House,. Hopkin’s son in law was Walker’chief of staff. All of these characters doing the recall on Dunleavy. And now, Pat Pitney, who is a Democrat and worked at the UA for the past 25 years. And there is something more…….Pitney fits the exact politically correct “orientation” for the present times (If you catch my drift).

  2. Formerly married to Randy Pitney, retired UAF Rifle Team coach. Title 9 queen. Had plumb jobs at UAF. Bill Walker’s hand-pick to funnel $$$ to UA system. Recall Dunleavy supporter. Need I say more? Oh yeah, huge supporter of women’s causes and women’s studies. Now we get it. As one professor told us about 20 years ago, if you are a woman who wants not to find a man at college, but rather, find another woman………come to UAF. And they did. From all over the country.
