New York City’s mayor piles on Sarah Palin for dining outside while Covid positive

Leave it to former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to mix it up with New York City’s Covid cops.

In addition to the sitting judge in Palin’s trial against the New York Times announcing to the New York media that Palin had tested positive for Covid and is “of course unvaccinated,” the mayor of the nation’s biggest city has decided to pile on and discuss Palin’s medical status publicly, without proof or authorization.

New York Mayor Eric Adams criticized Sarah Palin on Thursday for dining outside at Manhattan restaurants while infected with Covid-19, an allegation of which he had no way to verify, since Palin could very well have been negative by the time she went out to eat. Her Covid test was Monday and the mayor could have no way of knowing when Palin came in contact with the virus.

Mayor Adams’ spokesman, however, singled out Palin as a pariah.

“We encourage any New Yorker who came into contact with Sarah Palin to get tested, just as we encourage all New Yorkers to get tested regularly, especially those who believe they may have been exposed to COVID-19,” said Adams spokesman Jonah Allon, in a statement to the New York Daily News.

“By repeatedly flouting CDC guidelines, Ms. Palin has shown a complete disregard for the health and safety of small business workers and her fellow patrons,” said the spokesman. “The city offers multiple resources to support isolation for those who test positive for COVID-19, and we encourage Ms. Palin to join the 98 percent of New Yorkers who report they have followed guidance on isolation and have helped New York City stop the spread.”

New York City has reportedly had 2.22 million cases of Covid since it arrived in the United States in early 2020, resulting in a reported 38,034 deaths.

Palin had tested positive on Monday, the first day of the trial. She had dined out at Elio’s over the weekend, and was again spotted by media trackers on Wednesday, dining outside.

According to mainstream media, Palin’s dining partner, former professional hockey player Ron Duguay, got up from the table, approached one of the paparazzi photographer’s who had asked Duguay if he was concerned that Palin had tested positive for Covid.

“Are you looking for trouble?” Duguay allegedly asked the photographer before knocking the tracker’s camera to the ground.

The New York Post reached out to the restaurant for comment.

“S– happens! People come to eat, we are not the border police,” a worker told the Post.

New York City has a Covid passport law, requiring most businesses to enforce the vaccine mandate. The vaccine passport is called “Key to NYC,” and businesses that don’t check for the vaccine passports are subject to steep fines. People can show proof in the form of a CDC vaccination card, NYC vaccination record, the New York state Excelsior Pass or the NYC Covid Safe App.

It appears Elio’s didn’t ask the visiting former governor of Alaska to show proof of her vaccine when she dined in on Saturday. Palin is leery of the Covid vaccine and told Turning Point USA’s Charlie Kirk last month that she will not be getting it.

Her case against the New York Times will begin on Feb. 3, unless there are more delays.

  1. Man, the paparazzi seem to follow her with a vengeance. The Left Wing political smear merchants will never stop attacking her. Why? She represents something they hate: conservative (anti-socialist) Americans!
Keep up the good fight Sarah!

    • Well, you gotta admit that she asked for it (the paparazzi), and you really can’t have things both on her side and not on her side. You also have to admit that she really couldn’t just go out and pretend she was like you or I, someone nobody was interested in (well, they wouldn’t be interested in ME, not sure about you).
So, you could say that Sarah is either clueless, or stupid, or looking to stir things up because there’s not enough drama in her life already. Take your pick.
And what’s the deal with the hockey player? Is he her new main squeeze or her boody (sic) guard? Curious minds want to know.
Time to move on, NYC. Ignore her. There’s no there there.

  2. If the stats cited are accurate, that is a 1% death rate out of 2.2 million people Covid positive. I’ll take my chances with those odds, unmasked, outdoors. Get a life, Mayor. Your reputation is sketchy and you’re this desperate to keep your name in the news–pathetic.

  3. Sorry, but this is all on Sarah. Another stupid, unforced error.
She knows, or should, that the press would be watching her. That Like them or not NYC had stupidly strict Covid rules, and that she might have Covid.
When I get the flu I don’t go out to eat until I’m sure I’m over it. Common decency mixed with common sense. But not common for Sarah, it seems.

    • I dont think she cares. She knows the haters will throw tantrums regardless. This is just mindless hysteria fro. The NYC Mayor.

    • I guess even if you didn’t know you had it because you were asymptomatic you would stay home? I guess you are a genius. I think her test results came after dinner.

  4. As long as Palin removed her mask for the entirety of the meal once seated, all is good! She is obviously safe from spreading the Covid virus that only hovers at a head level deadly cloud. Besides, anyone vaccinated shouldn’t fret anyway due to their protection status.

  5. It’s hilarious how you folks can turn Sarah Pain into the victim here, She acted in a reprehensible, irresponsible manner by going to a restaurant knowing she has Covid, and deserves public shaming. What a self-absorbed narcissist.

    • No one says you should eat at a restaurant (even outside) when you are actually sick with Covid and infectious. When you have been diagnosed positive, you quarantine until you have recovered and test negative.

        • At work we just keep taking the test until we get a negative. It takes about 4 tries each just so we can keep the doors open. Its a joke, three out of four test always show positive.

      • PS: Not everybody, by a long shot, buys into your irrational, hysterical, overexaggerated and hyperbolic Covidian paranoia, Rick. The days of officially sanctioned and propagated institutionalized hypochondria and germophobia are over.

        • Jefferson, you don’t know what you’re talking about. I could care less if you get vaccinated or wear a mask. I don’t support shutting down businesses and schools, as happened in 2020 under Trump. But unlike you, i get my facts about Covid from medical professionals, not Joe Rogan and Robert Kennedy Jr. And if you have tested positive, then you are a first-class jerk if you knowingly go around spreading your infection to others.

          • People were jerks for spreading the flu yet we didnt shut down the entire country for it. Get over yourself. You’ll live, most people will and do. Life moves on.

          • With that rational, it sounds as if you also stocked-up on those Opiates your “medical professions” where pushing just prior to COVID.

      • Actually you isolate….believe it or not there is a difference.

        Quarantine
        If you were exposed

Quarantine and stay away from others when you have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19.

        Isolate
If you are sick or test positive

Isolate when you are sick or when you have COVID-19, even if you don’t have symptoms.

  6. Sarah, doesn’t need to be in Alaska to see Russia from her kitchen window. She can see the Soviet Union from the plaintiff’s table, or, from her seat at a New York deli.

  7. This is especially true if she avoided bars after 10 pm (this is a very smart virus that can tell time and drift around the airwaves to find bars, restaurants, and taverns). Should have been a bit smarter, but hey, I think she followed CDC guidelines. You can fly on Alaska Airlines if you’re eating and not wearing a mask.

  8. To be convicted of a COVID crime (in a court of science) one must take (and pass) three different tests.
    .
What are those three tests Palin haters?

  9. Isn’t it odd? General Milley just gave an unmasked press conference…..Last I heard he was Covid Positive….Not a peep from the press….

    • He tested positive 2 weeks ago. Not exactly the same situation as Palin, who dined in a restaurant while unvaccinated (in violation of NY law) and was apparently positive at the time (she tested positive the next day) and then returned a day later. The quarantine period has been reduced to 5 days after testing positive. Palin dined out after just 2 days,

      • The isolation period is actually five days from onset of symptoms or five days from a positive test counted from whichever came last followed by an additional five days in a mask and avoiding unnecessary close contact with others….
