According to the state data dashboard, nine new hospitalizations for Covid-19 have occurred in Alaska since Oct. 1. The total number of people hospitalized with Covid stands at 194, with 38 of those on ventilators to help them breathe.
20.7 percent of those in the hospitals in Alaska have Covid, according to the daily dashboard.

The dashboard also reports 835 new instances of Covid-19 diagnosis on Oct. 4, and a decrease of 29 percent from last week, when daily case counts were over 1,000.

KK – in this morning’s newsletter I published what information I could find. In Central Peninsula Hospital in Kenai, of the 19 Covid patients, three are breakthrough cases, or one of nearly every 6 patients is a breakthrough. Finding those numbers is really hard and the state is not tracking the breakthroughs or not reporting them. There is lot of inexact data out there. – sd

The dashboard makes a distinction that these are state wide confirmed and suspected Covid patients. In other words there are probably a multitude of reasons for people to be on vents. I hope they all get better and return to their lives. Out of almost 114,000 positive tests since March 2020 we have had 561 deaths in the same time frame. In 2017 per the CDC 995 Alaskans died from Cancer, 831 from heart disease and 439 in accidents and these are numbers over 1 year not 19 months.
Perspective is everything
A more important number than how many have COVID (20.7%) in the hospital, is, how many are in the hospital because of COVID. Two entirely different numbers when you are testing everyone who enters the hospital as a patient. A person arriving for a broken arm but test positive for COVID should be annotated as such.
They’ll not give you that number, nor the vaccinated patients in there with COVID (the term breakthrough COVID is akin to reverse racism, total double-speak).

Even with direct access to a patients chart, it’s difficult to assess who has or has not been vaccinated, unless they volunteer the information. Many working within the hospitals are completely unaware of the vaccination status of their peers, until they get fired…….

Our Alaska medical industry complains that they are at crisis level due to their own mismanagement.

Before COVID, nobody apparently knew any statistics about how many people die each year in this country; somewhere below or above 3 million people die in the U.S. Of the 500,000 people that died in 2020 that were said to have died “from” COVID, about 95% of them had other severe ailments. I am not being disrespectful to those people who died. It is highly debatable whether their cause of death was COVID. These statistics are being manipulated and those of us in the public that know someone that died, were told “Cause Of Death- COVID”. That is because the death certificates specify that they “most recent” comorbidity, which is virtually always COVID, “will be the cause of death”. The deceased already had heart disease or asthma or obesity and/or diabetes. The hospitals are not really checking what actually “caused” the death. They are just applying the most recent illness.

Why is caring for sick people so overwhelming for hospital staff? Did they not understand the mission of their chosen career? I worry that in a true health emergency, perhaps chemical or biologic warfare, the trained medical people would disappear in a puff of pink smoke.
Joan, Prov and ANMC are firing them for not taking the jab. Many of them have had COVID and have anti-bodies. They don’t want to leave their profession, they’re being forced out.

Any overwhelm the hospitals are experiencing right now is self inflicted. This is a choice on the part of hospital management. It’s not the fault of the caregivers within the system. They didn’t disappear in a puff of smoke when COVID hit. They’re good men and women who work hard and do understand their mission. You have to ask the same of the people in charge at Prov and ANMC. They seem to have lost sight of it themselves.

Hmmmmmmm…..Maybe it is because nurses and medical workers do not want to take the covid experimental shot that has horrendous side effects for a lot of people that is not being reported!! I would rather be treated for early Covid -19 symptoms than to take an experimental shot that has side effects that the lunatic news is not reporting!!!!
Keep in mind the dashboard isn’t always current. Numbers might be falling but they are still more than double the worst numbers we had in the last surge (February-April or so) and WAY above what they’ve ever been! The big difference is this time includes significant numbers of children and young adults and the vast majority of the adults sick, in hospital, and dying are Republicans who have refused the vaccine. The papers are full of the few cases of vaccinated people who die but for every 1 of those, there are over 100 unvaccinated. Also, it was just reported that they are finding significant heart damage in at least 30% of people who have had covid, regardless how bad the case. Generally, the sicker they were, the worse the damage, but not necessarily. That’s a LOT of people with preventable heart damage! And NONE of the medications in the pharmacy work well on viruses. The few they have that actually work have lots of warnings and pretty bad side effects. Why would anyone expect a poison (Ivermectin) to kill something that isn’t alive?? Viruses are not independent living organisms like lice and parasites. They can only “live” by hijacking the cells/DNA of a host. To outright kill a virus with poison it would have to kill the host cells it’s in!! That’s why viruses are generally left to “run its course” and hope it doesn’t do too much damage, which most don’t. Unfortunately, Covid-19 often isn’t one of them.
