About 60 volunteers gathered at the Delaney Park Strip in Anchorage before sunrise, and planted nearly 3,000 American flags, each to commemorate one of the victims in the terrorist attack on the nation that occurred beginning at 8:46 am on Sept. 11, 2001.
As the sun rose on a crisp Sept. 11 morning, Mayor Dave Bronson’s office and Assemblywoman Jamie Allard worked together to get volunteers involved in the memorial project. Then, the group recited the Pledge of Allegiance, and Bronson spoke briefly about the meaning of the day, and his experiences as an airman stationed at Kulis National Guard Air Base, at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, where he was when the news broke that the nation was under attack.
Mike Ross, media personality from KTUU, was one of the volunteers planting flags. Only Jamie Allard and the mayor were elected officials who were present. Must Read Alaska was present, but the event wasn’t publicized in advance and an effort was being made to keep it apolitical.

During the Sept. 11 attacks in 2001, 2,977 people were killed by 19 hijackers who were on a murder-suicide terror mission planned by Osama Bin Laden, the founder of the militant Islamist group Al Qaeda. Bin Laden had launched previous attacks on America, but this was his most ambitious yet. On the four planes that were used in the attacks, 665 were on board, including the terrorists, and another 6,606 died in the World Trade Center, and 125 died at the Pentagon. Three buildings were struck, but patriotic Americans aboard the fourth plane, realizing it was a missile that was heading for Washington, D.C., revolted against the terrorists, and in the struggle the plane dove into a field in Pennsylvania, sacrificing all souls on board for the sake of the country.
The 9-11 attacks put America into battle, and for the past 20 years, warriors have taken the fight to the enemy in Iraq and Afghanistan. President Joe Biden ended the fight on Aug. 30, withdrawing all Americans from Afghanistan, except about 100 left behind for the Taliban terrorists to use as hostages. He also left $80 billion worth of arms and military equipment, such as tanks, trucks, helicopters, and other equipment, for the Taliban terrorists who have gained control of Afghanistan in Biden’s retreat.

Sad, sad day which turned to anger. We lost so many brave Americans that day of terror. God bless them and those that we lost since that day.
Not just those who died on 9/11, but all the Americans dying in fighting the terrorists to whom we now surrender.
To the outside world, and to America’s enemies, they dont see our racial genetic features like we do.
To them we all look like an American, one race, one language, one heritage, one culture, one religion. They treat as such as one people of one racial heritage.
Those Americans thinking they can maintain their national identity of another country are only deceiving themselves. When they live here they forsake their birth country or Indigenous tribe, and they are now an American.

Shameful that MRAK can’t do the same, not even for a single damn day.
Pity to leave all of that used military gear there. Just think of how many police departments could use a nice second-hand tank, attack helicopter, or howitzer. They could really up their game.
And furthermore, Madame Editor, last I checked Biden promised to bring all Americans home, and the news is now showing us planeload after planeload of them departing. The Taliban has no desire to hold them hostage.
They way MRAK baits readers is really disgusting. The number of readers who actually take the bait makes it even more so.
I cry a little every time I watch a program about 9/11 or when I visit the site in NYC – for everyone – Black, White, GOP, Dems, Liberals, Conservatives, straight, or gay. So should everyone. Don’t make it political. Don’t use is as a means to drive your silly wedges in ever deeper.
Compassion, sympathy, empathy, and resolve should govern our thoughts. Not stupid political culture wars.
