Federal prosecutors indicted Mayor Eric Adams after a corruption investigation, marking the first time a sitting mayor has been indicted in New York City.
The New York Times reported that the indictment was filed under seal by prosecutors, citing people with knowledge of the matter.
Adams plans to turn himself in to authorities early next week, sources said.
Details about the exact accusations are unclear but believed to be connected to a kickback scheme involving the Turkish government funding his mayoral campaign, according to sources.
Even before the indictment, Adams faced calls from fellow Democrats to step down in response to the swirling federal investigations and resignations by top administration officials.
There are at least four ongoing federal investigations involving Adams’ administration and at least eight top aides to Adams have been served subpoenas and search warrants, according to published reports.

Correct. However, over the last decade, woke politics has dominated. Now, you are celebrated for what you are, not what you do/accomplish. Biden made it clear, he was selecting a black woman as his running mate. Now, we are looking to elect that VP as our President, not because of all the accomplishments and achievements she has, but because of her pigmentation and plumbing.

It all looks bad and may be bad, but that may be the intent. A part of me thinks that Adams may have been uncooperative with the cabal that runs Northeast politics and national politics for the Dems. Not hard to imagine Clintons-Schumer-Obamas-Biden-Pelosi involvement. And throw in various entertainment, media and tech people. And do not forget Goldman Sachs. Merrick Garland is a complete tool.
JMARK, Adams made one mistake, he publicly challenged the notion of dropping off a million illegal invaders into his city. Biden and Kamala’s handlers apparently are sorely displeased by such a display of insubordination by an official who they believe should behave in a much more obsequious manner when it comes to their plans of destroying America and the rest of Western Civilization.
Hillary and Chuck Schumer may be involved at some level but only as good little subordinate leaders.

If Eric Adams is guilty… Democrats want him to resign. If Donald Trump is guilty… Republicans want him to become the 47th President. Thats how the parties differ. Difference is Adams was arrested by his own Democrats. Trump was arrested by hacks who work for the Democrats.
When an individual is convicted in a kangaroo court, they are only guilty of going against the group in power, nothing else. And anyone not blinded by partisan politics will see Trump’s conviction based on a novel use of a law for exactly what it is.
And, Eric Adams has his chance to defend himself. If there is nothing there, good for him, resume your duties as Mayor of that landfill called NYC.

Adams defense is that the feds are cracking down on him because Adams was complaining about the illegals being shipped into NYC. Why not throw Merrick Garland in the cell with Puff and Adams. It’s logical to assume that Eric Adams is being punished for complaining publicly about the relentless onslaught of illegal aliens into America’s largest city and all the problems this creates. All this corruption that Adams will be indicted for is well known in democrat circles. However, it was always ‘managed’ and kept out of public or official scrutiny with the understanding that Adams would remain ‘loyal’. Perhaps this indictment is a warning to others. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

I think Eric Adams is burdened by what has been. Meaning taking money from foreign governments was all okay and now its not (if you get caught).

Depends.
Trump was indicted using a “novel application” of the law. (HINT: Novel application of the law means you stretched the meaning of the law almost to its breaking point. So far, that no one before you even thought that particular law should apply.)
Adams was indicted using the straight up reading of the law as intended.

New Yorkers need Scott Kendall to draft up a ballot measure to put a halt to outside dark money through the passage of a very Rank way of choosing the votes that are counted.

Even though an avowed Democrat, Adams got uppity and questioned the party’s strategy on open borders, and flooding American cities, including his NYC, with illegals, most of whom are hostile to American values, and for this, the DemoKKKrats decided that he must be made an example of.
This is no different than in the old south, when Democrat plantation owners would hold public whippings of any slave who got uppity and stepped out of line, as an example to the other slaves of what happens if they dare step out of line.
The difference now, is that instead of public whipping, they sic the DOJ on him, and if they can’t find a crime, they will manufacture one…
