Fairbanks dumpster fire: Police respond after Democrats light fire to wagon, causing traffic hazard

29

For several days, House candidate Ruben McNeil and State Senate candidate Mike Cronk have been waving campaign signs at the corner of Johansen and Geist Road in Fairbanks with a group of supporters.

On Monday, Democrats, led by Senate candidate Savannah Fletcher and House Rep. Ashley Carrick, showed up with their group of sign-wavers. They brought a small wagon in which they had lit and were tending a blazing fire. They had it placed perilously close to cars in the turn lane, endangering everyone in the vicinity.

Law enforcement responded to get the group to move the burning material onto the sidewalk. Meanwhile, the Democrats allowed their unleashed dogs to dart in and out of traffic around the intersection.

Footage of police intervening with Democrat sign-wavers after they created a traffic hazard.

One Democrat sign-waver, trying to muscle into the prime spot, smacked one of the McNeil sign holders on the head with a sign, and the group purposefully tried to push the McNeil and Cronk supporters from their spots.

Through it all, Fletcher’s baby was crying and wriggling in the arms of its father. Savannah kept telling her husband, “No, not now.”

Tuesday is Election Day in America, and Americans will be making a choice about their future.

  1. Arrest Fletcher. Child endangerment. Creating a traffic disturbance. Failure to obey police. Who does this quack woman think she is?

    • Child endangerment for….having a crying child? You folks just love to fantasize about using state violence against people you dislike, don’t you?

      • The rod was spared over the 2 billions dollars of burning/looting/rioting otherwise known as “mostly peaceful protesting”. Do you have “Rooftop Koreans” on your bingo card for the up and coming democrat sponsored haterade fest…?

  2. Hearing reports from Fairbanks that Scott Kendall’s dad, former Fairbanks mayor Luke Hopkins, is a sign waver for Savannah Fletcher at that very intersection. Is this part of the Family business?

      • Yes he is, sorta. It’s all in the family. Hopkins. Guttenberg. Kendall. Hopkins-Kendall. Guttenberg-Hopkins. Guttenberg-Kendall.
        Confused yet?
        Good.

        • That’s the way to run a dysfunctional Family. Aren’t they the original LSD hippies from the UAF? I saw the photo of Guttenberg. Do the rest of them look like him? Fairbanks must have been feeling very generous and sympathetic on the last election.

  3. I had the misfortune of trying to work with Ashley Carrick when she was the top aide to Adam Wool. Ashley was just a road block. They twisted what I asked for and wouldn’t commit to any answers, and then Ashley lied to me several times.

  4. I hate the Democratic Party. Over the last 20 years it has repeatedly shown itself to be a malevolent cabal of angry haters, liars, cheats, and thieves.

  5. That’s Fletcher in the photo holding her own sign. Is there a Pro-Palestine flag also. She never misses a chance to show her stripes. Where’s her baby? Really intelligent to bring your infant child to the busiest intersection in Fairbanks, with icy road conditions. What a smart woman she is.

  6. I have known Ruben for several years, and he always seems to be calm and level headed. Based on his size, I don’t think they pushed him very much.

  7. They looked like a bunch of paid off college cockroaches. Ruben and Mike have been standing there for weeks and the cockroaches show up out of no where. Can’t go wrong with Ruben and Mike. Most of you already have the offenders figured out! Go Red!!!

  8. It’s so sad to see women cast aside their children for their own glory. There is joy and also strength in raising children! Why have a baby if your only care is your own career?

  9. I drove by this mess. I saw the fire, one police car with lights flashing. It appeared that across Geist Road next to the bank the dems were trying to push the Republican sign wavers into the traffic on the road – appeared to me mind you, I was watching where I was driving and the traffic…
I’m astounded that little Scotty K won, beating Leslie Hajdukovich. The left in Fairbanks seem to be trying to create an Antifa-type mob to force their will.

  10. Hello world! This was me with the solo stove. The trooper that pulled over stopped to chat with me for a few minutes while warming his hands. He checked in on the rest of the mixed group to make sure things were civil, which they were, and then moved on. the group was all talking together but there was no physical altercations or danger… it’s hard to believe this dystopian spin up of the event at the intersection. DM me on Facebook if you want to talk more about it.

  11. There was no mess. The trooper was called because a “fight” was reported. There was no fight. He chatted with the group, warmed up his hands, went to chat with others on the block, and wished us all a good night. At no point there was a question of safety because of the fire; it was safely contained in a small solo stove on a sidewalk, away from traffic. This post is a fabricated lie, just like the convict you elected for president.

    • Well.. That “convict” is going to be your president. We enjoyed 4 years of the shady pines dementia patient, now you can enjoy 4 years of a “convict” running the country. Personally, I’d like cheaper gas and groceries and putting a damper on inflation. If you feel suicidal, feel free to call 998 for help. I’m sure they’ll put you in touch with some professionals.

      • Now, the Trump DOJ can go after Biden for taking kickbacks from foreign governments, and for treason. Those are provable charges, thanks to his son’s idiocy. Send old Joe to prison where he can finish his days.

      • Affordable groceries, transportation and energy are part of the core needs everyone has, especially us up here in Fairbanks – this is not a partisan issue and I lament it’s been made into one. I wish the president elect luck in helping us all out with our basic needs. A broader question for all these comments above and this outlets readers is: for what, and whom, benefits from a completely fabricated story about local violence? We aren’t as different as the media wants us to be – hell, I chatted with Ruben the next day on the same corner for a while and we ultimately commiserated that the next day we are all going back to our respective homes to split wood and shovel snow. Being divided isn’t helping our community in any way… We can all do better.

  12. CORRECTIONS: Ashley Carrick was not present on that corner on Monday evening. Savannah did not have her toddler with her on Monday. Her husband brought signs, but not their child. The trooper stopped to talk with everyone on all four corners, and there was no danger to traffic because of the solo stove. No dogs were off leash, and no dogs were darting in and out of traffic. There was no fight. No one pushed anyone, and no one hit anyone with their signs. Some of the sign wavers chatted civilly with each other; no voices were raised. The intersection is University and Geist/Johannsen. Not all of the sign wavers for progressive candidates were registered Democrats. Savannah Fletcher did not lead the group, which was organized by Interior Democrats.
