Decision Desk HQ calls Alaska congressional race for Begich

Earlier this week, Must Read Alaska called the Alaska congressional race for Nick Begich. Now, a national elections analytics organization agrees: There are not enough remaining ballots to be counted to pull Rep. Mary Peltola ahead.

Begich has 152,545 votes and Peltola follows with 143,370. The other two candidates share about 15,400 votes

The Division of Elections has more votes to count in the race that ended on Nov. 5.

“This victory belongs to the people of Alaska,” Begich said. “Our state has immense potential, and now is the time to responsibly unlock the resources that make Alaska a cornerstone of America’s path to prosperity.”

Peltola sent out a fundraising letter saying that she still has a path to victory and asking for people to send her money.

“Democrat Mary Peltola is closing the gap over her Republican challenger, Nick Begich III, with every new batch of votes counted,” her fundraising letter said. “With more than 20,000 votes still left to be counted, Mary has a narrow path to close the gap and win! But in a race this close, every single vote counts! Final results likely won’t be known until November 20th, when the ranked-choice results are tabulated and released.”

Peltola wrote, “Our voter protection team is on the ground fighting to ensure that every Alaskan’s vote is counted and their voice is heard. Can we count on you to rush a donation today to ensure we have what it takes to fight for every last vote and help Mary close the gap?

  1. Thank you Suzanne for your earlier (and accurate) information while we waited for the official call. It saved a lot of us from high blood pressure over their prolonged vote count. One down and now Daddy’s Little Princess to go……

  2. I guess they forgot about the rank choice part to decide this race. You both have more confidence in this than I do. After the 2010 shenanigans of the murkowski write in. I don’t have any faith in division of elections.

    • Quite possibly the biggest fraud in the history of senatorial elections in the US.
No way, a senate write-in candidate won relying on the Bush.
      No way.
But, then again I’m just an election denier – those 12MM “extra” votes Biden got in 2020 were as legit as the “write-in” votes Murky got.
      Right?

      • The write in Murkowski ballots used to defeat Miller was remarkably and openly corrupt. The threat to her really scared Lisa’s puppeteers so we then were awarded with RCV. Peltola was the bonus prize.

We will probably get write in only, that solves election problems for the Uniparty forever.

The 12 million anomaly in the Biden fraud is obvious when u see the Dem totals before and now after him, the norm is about 65 million total for the Dem president, except the spike for Biden.

The Harris totals undoubtedly include millions of fraudulent ballots, there is no way that many people voted for her. It just wasn’t enough, this election’s early vote totals by normal Americans made it too big to steal.

    • We are of like mind. I worked those elections. The judge decided the law didn’t have to be followed. The judge overstepped his bounds. Nothing new these days. People are abusing their power.

    • Florida does not have RCV!

I hear all the moaning and groaning about the AK legislature needing to change statute etc….

This ignores the proverbial elephant in the room: RCV.
In years before RCV we got results fairly early, since DOE simply had to posted the count. It was straight up counting of each vote plain and simple. You could figure out with simple math if the outstanding votes to be counted would impact the outcome. Now in order to get a clear winner you have to wait for every single vote, as it can determine, the order candidates get eliminated and where those votes will go to get the winner to 50%+1. We have always had a certification date of late November, but it never really mattered that much as the winners usually became apparent after the majority of votes had been counted.

  3. I do not care what organization calls the race. RCV is involved. No one knows, or can predict when it is down to the last two.
    .
And, the ballot counting is still going on, so that lead Begich has could disappear suddenly.

  4. HA..HA FOR Petola,She’s running scared and very delusional about the final count…Somehow sending her more money??? AFTER the election will not CHANGE the vote..which has already been done and taken place…only the counting will change. She is HISTORY and she knows it..She needs to go back to her village and support them as they’ll need it..Living in Anchorage will not change the vote. She failed in all aspects, She NEVER did replace D Y. Everything she voted for, went against everything he was for with maybe exception of one or two items.

  5. Exactly how do you “fight” for votes after they have already been cast by legally registered voters?

She must mean that because the AK DOE does not maintain accurate, legal voter registration lists with valid addresses, there are plenty of extra ballots that need to be counted as valid votes.

Alaska leaves additional weeks past the election, and a pool of extra ballots to “correct” the outcomes of elections because voters might stray from what our leaders deem the best governance for us is.

    • Peltola “fights for votes” because the Democrats always have a few thousand votes hidden away somewhere in case of an emergency.

  6. Notice how Peltola cleverly fails to mention how sending her more money now will change all those votes that have already been cast weeks ago….

  7. A rule thumb in elections: the longer the race is dragged out, the more votes democrats are miraculously able to find.

  8. Does Begich have people watching this it seems like republicans in this state never watch anything they just accept things I actually hope trump does not pick dunleavey for anything I have never seen the guy ever say anything bad about rcv he has done. nothing to clean up the rolls if he has maybe somebody can tell us what he has done all we here is what peltola is doing to steal the election we here nothing about our side doing anything

    • Mike, I know of several people that wanted to help with the election process being poll watchers or poll workers. The state would not call them, the Republican Party would not call them, the candidates just get their numbers from the poll workers so they did not want poll watchers. There were very few poll watchers…WHY? Because all of those above mentioned groups don’t want poll watchers. After seeing this sh*t with what was happening at the polling places and seeing how long it is taking to count (or print up more ballots as they count), I can understand why they don’t want poll watchers because poll watchers would see all of the cheating going on and want to report it.

    • Agree completely, Dunleavy is useless. He has an (R) by his name, but nothing of substance or value for the state or country. He is personally a good man, just not a manager or effective and winning fighter for what we need now.

  9. Ya , so obvious now that these Dems have some how circumvented the vote and are not even hiding it at this point, . We have got some serious fruad issues in Alaska and else where. Many of these people are corrupt as hell. Its all totally pathetic BS!!!

  10. I sent a shiny penny to the Bethel scum’s campaign. She’s no better than an overseas telemarketing scammer.

  11. Yes, the battle cry “All votes count” and its racist if we don’t count them all. Funny how all these thousands of uncounted votes this far past elections are always minorities voting for Democrats.

  12. While we are still waiting on Alaska’s non-binary, multiple choice, one from Column A & one from Column B results, at least other states are voting down Rancid Choice Voting

  13. Mary had em on the lamb
    and fleeced the voters so
and even though she knew she lost
she’s trying to grab their dough

    • Yes Greg. We all know you Democrats are not quite used to seeing people smile around you, but take it in bro. This is a smile. The only ‘snarl’ present in this picture is that of your own psychological projection.

Happiness may be foreign to the Democrat voter, but with MAGA taking over, that may change.

Be ready, for the best is yet to come.

  14. Its reasonable to assume a person sitting at a table with stacks of ballots, working diligently, could tabulate about 4 ballots per minute. That would be 240 ballots per hour. Therefore, five diligent people could tabulate 1200 ballots per hour. 20,000 ballots / 1200 ballots per hour = 16.6 hours of tabulation for the 5-man crew. That means 10 people could count 20,000 ballots in 1-day; no computers necessary. Numbers don’t lie. They are playing us like a fiddle.
