Senator Mike Shower served Alaska’s legislature for nearly ten years. Now, he has decided to step down from his position as Senate Minority Leader in order to focus his efforts on campaigning for Lieutenant Governor. Mike Shower joins candidate for Governor Bernadette Wilson as her running mate.
Mike Shower is a retired U.S. Air Force lieutenant colonel and current FedEx 777 airline captain. Mike and Bernadette maintain that Mike’s veteran experience equips him to be the Lieutenant Governor Alaska needs. Bernadette states: “As a former Air Force fighter pilot, Sen. Shower brings his experience as a Veteran who served our country for 24 years and his deep knowledge of Alaska’s strategic military importance to our ticket.”
Here is what Shower promises if Alaskans select him to serve as Lieutenant Governor: “Alaska is at a crossroads, and it is time that we seize our opportunity to bring lasting prosperity to our citizens by working with the Trump Administration to unlock our state, fix education, support our military personnel and veterans, and fully develop our incredible natural resources. As Governor, Bernadette will lead that effort and I am proud to stand with her as her choice for Lieutenant Governor of our great state.”

We need a lt. governor who will work on our voter rolls and election integrity.
I’m in total agreement. Mitch McConnell can’t keep coming up with schemes like rank choice cheating to keep Lisa Murkowski in office. Outside interests and their funding must be sacked. We need someone to stand up for election integrity in Alaska.
My thoughts exactly! I think Mike would have the fortitude to clean things up.
We have a very large illegal immigrant population in Alaska during summer months taking jobs from Alaskans. Our fish processing operations, construction company owners, builders, the Styrofoam factory at Ship Creek in the rail yard and all of our dock working outfits employ illegals. ICE in Alaska must be holdovers from the Biden and Obama administrations. If the Colonel will give ICE a kick in their complacency, I will vote for him. God knows Murkowski and Sullivan will never do anything about it. We need the governor’s office to get involved.
I agree with you..BUT many of the cannery jobs we once had in the 70’s, many younger Alaskans no longer care to work in the canneries. Some think their “too good” to work in the canneries.I remember we had people from the lower ’48 coming and making their college money..
You think the Longshoreman’s union has illegal immigrants working at our ports? ?
Yes, as long as they get to wet their beaks with the dues money
WOW!
What a team!
Awesome team- now put Edna in his old position and get her out of the race!
I have three favorites in the Gubernatorial race but I don’t think we could do any better than Mike Shower for Lt. Governor. He’d be fantastic!
IF elected, will Shower continue to keep his job with FedEX? As we know, he was mostly absent from his legislative responsibilities, due to his more important job as a pilot, while he was in office. This caused him to be very unresponsive to his constituents and his work requirements here. Given everything we know about Mike Shower, we should not expect much from him IF he is elected.
Many, if not most, legislators have another job. Where’s your data/tabulation of absences that you base your assertion of dereliction of duties on?
He should have run for governor.
You kicked SD for potential (or more) bias for a candidate for governor. Yet it is perfectly fine to publish a photo that the candidate could not have asked for a better pick for his campaign. I have no bias for or against the candidate, but it is a tell that MRAK have loosened their standards- or you just wanted a pretext to boot SD. Let your yes be yes and let you no be no MRAK.
Why Lt. Governor?
This is the guy who should be governor?
With ten years Legislative experience he will be a tremendous asset for Bernadette, all the Democrats and RINOS Dirty Tricks will be exposed to Her. No stumbling Learning Curve that Dunleavy had, to go through——Impeachment, etc.
