Bob Bird: How does one define a coward?

63
Gov. Tim Walz

By BOB BIRD

How does one define a coward? Or if we don’t want to judge their character, perhaps their actions, which we would call “cowardly”?

And what is a “chicken hawk”? This was a term used by the media to define politicians who were eager to use military force, but to let others do it. The term was thrown most often at neo-con and globalist, former VP Dick Cheney. Perhaps now the Democrats will have their own.

You have heard that bullies are really cowards, but they use their aggressiveness to cover their inner fears. Bullies always pick soft targets, never ones that might match their own physique or militant character. In school, bullies picked on the class nerds, never the class jocks. If you have ever seen the movie The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, villain Lee Marvin picks mercilessly on the nerdly Jimmy Stewart, who is serving steaks in a crowded saloon … until Marvin scornfully trips him, and John Wayne’s steak finds the floor.

Wayne ordered Marvin to pick up the steak, off the floor, which would be demeaning to the bully. He would not allow Marvin’s sidekick to do it. The room hushed, expecting a shoot-out. After a lengthy stare-down, Stewart, eager to avoid bloodshed, shows true courage by scolding them both, and picks up the steak himself. Marvin and his crew dash out the door and shoot wildly into the air to create confusion, keep people scared of him, and make good their escape.

Tim Walz is a Chicken Hawk: first he parades his military service. And why would a politician do that? Why, to show his courage, a virtue people admire even in an enemy. But now the truth about Walz is emerging, for resigning from his unit when it was going to be deployed to Iraq.

To borrow a phrase from submarine movies: “Damage control — Report!”

The Deep State always has some damage control handy. “Simply say that you resigned in order to run for Congress.”

Yet his own compatriots know better, and are telling about his shameful resignation to the alternative media, and how the entire structure of the unit was compromised by needing to bring in unfamiliar replacements.

Chaplain of National Guard statement on Walz is here.

The next move would be to have the media lackeys to either discredit the sources, or to suppress them.

Next: At a campaign stop for governor some years ago, Walz said that we need more gun control, and that he proudly disowned the NRA. “I have handled weapons in war” he told his audience, and they should not be in the hands of citizens.

“Damage control: Report!”

“Simply say that you merely misspoke. You meant to say, ‘I have handled weapons of war.’ ”

It never occurred to Walz that his own citizens of Minnesota might need them to protect their life and property during the 2020 riots, when he delayed calling out the National Guard.

Oh, and then he spoke of how the riots were “exciting” and were “restoring a sense of optimism coming back.”

And what of Kamala Harris, who set up a bail-bond fund to get them back on the streets as soon as possible?

“Damage control: Suppress!”

But it gets worse: Mother Teresa of Calcutta knew who “the poorest of the poor” were, the A-1 most helpless members of the human family: The pre-born children, firmly fixed into the gunsights of Planned Parenthood, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. The unborn are easier targets than the Class Nerd or Jimmy Stewart, so Walz knows a soft target when he sees one.

Here is how a coward struts his “courage”: Bragging that he defied Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s advice to tone down his baby-killing rhetoric, signing a bill that allows elective abortion up until birth. If you view the video, it looks like Walz is about the burst a blood vessel, as he literally shouts his aggression to his radical audience.

“And my record is so pro-choice, Nancy Pelosi asked me if I could tone it down. I stand with Planned Parenthood, and we won!”

Wow, that took courage, Mr. Walz. You out-lefted Nancy Pelosi!

Watch it here.

We are dealing with the demonic in this election. Whatever flaws exist in the alternatives, pale before the reality of this evil, lying, wicked, cowardly, bullying, doubling-down national ticket of death. They enjoy the continued support of big business, the media, academia, mainstream medicine, the anti-human globalists, and the endlessly deep pockets of the federal government.

A note to the remaining sensible Democrats out there: You still have a chance to step out of your self-induced stupor. This is not a matter of Left v. Right, Liberals v. Conservatives, Democrats v. Republicans. We are dealing with people who hate humanity. It is “Us” v. “Them.”

You will not be safe with these people.

None of us will be.

        • It’s not so much a “make their own decisions” kind of deal.

“Stolen Valor” has been pretty well defined as people falsely claiming military awards or medals they did not earn, service they did not perform, Prisoner of War experiences that never happened, and other tales of military actions that exist only in their minds. In this case it is clear that some of the things Tim Walz has said meet that definition. He hasn’t been in war and he did not retire at the rank he claimed to retire at. He is also on camera nodding along as his supposed military resume was read and he is seen nodding along in agreement about having “served with his battalion in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.” he never served in Afghanistan.

    • Frank, these comments aren’t disparaging a true veteran, a true veteran would have grabbed his gun and gone with his troops. He is indeed a coward, and a bully.

    • Frank, those that actually obtained the rank of Command Sergeant Major, and served with Walz, in the Minnesota National Guard have called him out.

You should probably get off your high horse. Walz let everyone around him down, especially those he was in charge of.

    • Facts, He DID NOT DEPLOY but chose to retire with a reduced rank (he retired as a MSG or Master Sergeant) because #1. He did not complete the Sgt Major Academy (correspondence not in person) and failed to serve the term required AFTER he dropped out of the Sgt Major Academy. He was given an administrative demotion (Article 15 perhaps) on the way out the door.

He is a retired E-8 not E-9 like his bio says and KNEW full well his unit was slated to deploy to Afghanistan. As a SGM, or any Top 3 enlisted member really, he would have been notified and been part of the work up for deploying personnel. He is a coward flat out.

    • Oh Frank, you missed the point. Perhaps the man served honorably, but then he lied about it to embellish his record. It is not the service but the lie which is despicable. But I guess that’s a nuance you really don’t see, isn’t it?

    • His comments are not disparaging. The issue is that lying Tim, the Tampon man created his own problems by showing his cowardly self when it came to military duty. Bring back the draft, make everyone equal in the eyes of war and maybe we will have less of it in the world! As a veteran, he took the money, but then when he might have to repay some of the money he received with blood, sweat and tears he was nowhere to be found. This is a true coward and thief and do you want him to be considered VP of our Country? Me, personally NO.

  1. Is Walz a pedophile? His actions and his looks seem to define it. Joe Biden had it too. Democrat behavior knows no bounds.

    • Back to the old teacher is a pedo trope, huh? You, Sam, appear to be jealous of their successes, because you haven’t any of your own.

      • Dawg, you appear to be proud of pedo successes, but that may just be a part of being a Democrat, right?

      • What service????? When called to duty, he wouldn’t go and fight. He just collected his paycheck with the Guard and did his part-time, pencil pushing tasks. In the mind of a serviceman who went into combat upon being called, Walz is a feckless, unvalored coward. A user of the uniform. And a liar of his rank. Reminds me of John Kerry who lied about his service record and then turned on his country. And he rightfully lost the campaign for president in 2004. Walz gets the same.

        • He did 24 more years of service than Orange Jesus did. Maybe not service you liked, but he still did it.

There are lots of service members who never deployed to the middle east during Iraq and Afghanistan because of the career paths they chose. Are they cowards? Are they not worthy of being thanked for their service?

Man you MAGA people love to turn on the military when they don’t meet the narrow definition of what you think they ought to do.

  2. Oy ve.

I wondered what sort of talking points would emerge in urban AK considering the sort of history of military involvement underpins the ‘Last Frontier’. My parents did their military service and did not reenlist. Even as an Army sergeant in the Korean Action, and his Army National Guard unit which he joined right out high school, and sent him up the Alcan on Operation Totem Pole, and others were deployed to Korea. No one in their right mind would call my Pa a coward. He did his duty. He attended UAF on the GI Bill and was a school teacher twenty years. No one has any right to say my mother is a coward. She served after she taught school and returned to the classroom after her service attending UAF on the GI Bill.

I wonder how many folks think about the fact that one of the folks they’ve got their panties in a wad about retired at rank higher than the corporal eating sour grapes. At least we assume the Marine was discharged honorably with his laptop intact, but what an attitude.

    • He is lying about his military service Mrs N. Most combat veterans frown on that. It also appears he has financially supported Hamas. Do your own homework before you shoot your mouth off. Kamala is just a useful ideot in this game being played.

    • Did your parents lie about their service later to serve themselves? I didn’t think so. It isn’t the service, it is the lie.

      • My folks didn’t talk much about their service except my mother found exception to the heat and humidity in Louisiana, hot weather in San Antonio, and having to crack ice to wash up in Cheyenne. (Evidently the barracks weren’t well-constructed.)

I didn’t even find out my father was deployed with his SD NG unit in Operation Totem Pole at age 18 [“196th RCT, marched 872 miles in 1951”–from Haines to Ft Rich arriving after snowfall] until several years after he died.

If facts matter to you, you might read the Snopes reference for Mr Walz’ service.

As for serving themselves, as Mr Walz has noted, time in the service is verifiable. My folks were able to attend UAF on the G.I. Bill, shop at the PX at Ft Rich –my father outfitted his ski team with those huge clunking Army skis, and a military doctor visited them in their final days at home. There was a military ceremony over by St Patrick’s on Muldoon. I imagine when Mr Walz dies, he will be entitled to one along with the American flag that is presented to family after the service, if not more as a Vice President.

  3. Funny how when the right points out legitimate issues with a vet, it’s vile.

But when it was Bush 43, Dan Sullivan, Ryan McKenzie, Oliver North, Sean Parnell (Pa), the dead soldiers Biden didn’t want to wait on and so many more… political fair game.

      • “Sean Parnell is a former U.S. Army airborne ranger who served in the legendary 10th Mountain Division for six years, retiring as a captain.” He is not the one you are thinking of, Sarge, but you do your thing with your “ready, fire, aim” comments.

        • I may be wrong about this, Shrek, but Governor Parnell was born in CA. I think the one you’re referring was born in PA. The Governor of AK was pretty busy in 2004-2010 when Sean Parnell from PA was in the Army.

  4. How does one define a coward? Well, one good example is someone who falsely and repeatedly claims he has bone spurs, and therefore is ineligible for the draft and service in Vietnam. I’d say that tops someone who’s served honorably for 24 years and who rose through the ranks to a high military rank.

Honestly, I’m surprised that any Conservative would try this stunt on Walz, considering how exposed Trump is on the same subject. Another amateur move that will certainly widen the gap in the polls even further. You’re going to lose, Donald. You’re going to lose.

    • Please define “high military rank.” He was promoted assuming he would do the work and then serve. He did neither, but he did lie about it later to make himself look like more than he is. I don’t recall Trump lying about any of his situation. But I guess it’s okay to lie if you also want to kill babies and let people riot in the streets, eh?

      • Again, if you’d like to deal with fact, my suggestion is a review of Snopes research on this topic. It’s one thing to be misinformed and fib to others in the misinformed state i.e. an ‘honest’ lie, than to actually be aware of fact and blare it out as propaganda. My guess is that we’ll never hear an apology either from those that attempted to convince others erroneously.

    • All of you left wing donkeys sure do like to throw mud!

Facts & the truth, two things’ you donkeys hate the most!

      • Anyone supporting Trump claiming others hate “facts and truth” is the height of hypocrisy.

        It’s also pretty funny.

        • Ah bill, you are one of “Those”
It is just like John Wayne said “Life is tuff, it is even tougher when you’re stupid”

    • Actually, cowards can be outed by the words they choose and the behaviors they demonstrate. Reminds me of you, Whidbey.

    • I disagree, he did his time then was DEMOTED to the rank of Master Sgt before his retirement, If he wanted to put this to sleep he could release his DD-214 with redacted SS number and call it good but he wont

  5. Frank, Telling the truth about a veterans service record is NOT disparging!! Avoiding combat after enjoying the “ good times” in the national Gaurd for 24 years when you are in a position of unquestionable leadership is highly suspect !! Bob Bird please explain to us your history of military service or avoidance thereof?

  6. Yet all you Trump supoorters follow a draft dodging mentally incapable NY Billionaire. Save me the honor talk….

    • RINO, Trump did not serve, neither did Bill Clinton or Joey Biden so what’s your point? Beyond that it occurs to me that Walz’s opponent will be one J.D. Vance, a young fellow who enlisted in the Marines and served in Iraq. Vance later graduated from Yale with a Law Degree, (same as Bill and Hillary). Given the above, it appears as if the “mentally incapable” billionaire picked a good man for Veep.
Meanwhile your girl, Kamala, an avowed marxist, also chose a running mate, (Tampon Tim) who is in harmony with her thinking.
Why do you allow Trump to live rent free inside of your head?

  7. And as far as one can tell from his online bio, Mr. Bob Bird, despite being of the appropriate age cohort, never joined the military so he could serve in Vietnam. So you, sir, have no right to insinuate that Walz is a coward. Where were you? Apparently studying “Social Studies” in Minnesota. Thank you for your service.

    • Mr. Whidbey: It is amazing how liberals read words that aren’t there, into the 1st Amendment, which DOES NOT say, “In regards to free speech, any person who has never served in the military may criticize any member thereof.” I will not be cancelled just because I am a lifelong civilian, and because of your own discomfort in hearing painful truths.

In fact, this guy wants to rule the country, just like he did Minnesota. Tell me why it is not fair to investigate not only his anti-human policies (which none of the comments has taken issue with), but his lies. It is EVERYBODY’s business.

He belongs to the MUTILATION & DISMEMBERMENT party: In truth, Minnesota is a “sanctuary state for ghoulish surgeons who will mutilate little children for profit”. This panders to their childish and temporary fantasies, and their parents’ fears, instilled into them by “counselors”.

And the party that wants to force-feed all 50 states the dismemberment of unborn children up to term, from coast to coast.

What a wonderful bunch to carry the Great American Torch of … “licentiousness” … which they call “freedom”. Just listen to the ads running against prolife candidates. They don’t know the difference.

      • Thanks for the clarification of the facts Robert.
There are plenty of readers out here that appreciate the truth from you as well as Suzanne

  8. He said he carried his rifle in COMBAT. He didn’t. He lied. It was an honor to serve with his unit in a Combat Zone, he resigned instead. Took the money and ran home. If he talks like a coward, and acts like a coward, he probably is.

    • The verifiable reference was to ‘carrying’ a weapon in context to gun violence, as ‘weapons of war’ and enacting more protective measures for school kids and mass killings.

  9. Walz is a mentally ill drunk driver, who got busted driving almost 100 miles per hour while drunk. That says about all you need to know about this loser. A person who could drive drunk- at 100 miles per hour, has no concern about anyone else.

His positions are extreme, and he has no business being vice president.

That being said, when I served, retirement after 20 years of service was normal. A guy getting out after 24 years of service isn’t going AWOL. Whether he did this to avoid going to Iraq is an open question. Maybe he did. But the focus needs to be on Walz’s insane agenda.

  10. The author regularly states the 2020 election was stolen and Dominion was involved. Then he spends countless hours bloviating about the disproven Shroud of Turin. Next he entertains his listeners of some creature swimming in Southwest Alaska. So it is no surprise the swift boating of Tim Walz caught his uncritical eye. Walz officially launched his congressional campaign in February 2005, more than a month before the National Guard announced the possible partial mobilization of 2,000 troops. His last day with the Guard was May 16, 2005, and his unit received its official deployment orders on July 14. Bob, stick to Sasquatch ramblings on your radio show.

  11. Nuanced is bone spurs to get out of the draft. Bragging on the radio (Trump) that your personal Vietnam was avoiding STD’s is not nuanced

  12. 1) What makes him a coward? The fact he did not go to Afghanistan? Or the fact he lied about the reasoning and other things?

    2) I never served in the military or went to Afghanistan. Does that make me a coward?

    3) Are the 85% of military people who never enter combat zones cowards? Are they heroes?

    4) Can anyone explain precisely, and clearly, what exactly we were fighting for in Afghanistan? Or, for that matter, Vietnam? Please cite constitutional support with your clear explanation. Moreover, a proper explanation should be sufficient to justify an American soldier making the ultimate sacrifice for his country; losing his life in said conflicts.

    • Wayne, You asked some good questions and I’ll attempt to answer your inquiries.
      1) What makes Walz a Coward? “the fact that he lied”, ( to gain political credit)

      2) Since you hold a trio of Citizenships (Ireland, Canada, and yes U.S.) your chances to serve were greater than most. That said, the question in general would never be that a failure to serve equals cowardice.

      3) It is true that the majority of Service Men, (and Women) are not active in actual Combat, however their supporting service is of great value to those who fight. Are they hero’s? Yes, Life is full of heroism, whether in the military or outside of the military. (refer to Reagans 1981 inaugural address for a better illustration)

      4) Here you question the heart of the matter. Originally our Military operations in Afghanistan were in our National Interests. Our early actions there were no different than when our Navy and Marines attacked the Barbary Pirates in the early 1800’s, protecting our commerce and freedoms abroad has since this Nations inception been a valid use of our Military. However, occupation and Nation Building is clearly repugnant to our Constitution. It turns out that when we were babes a President named Ike warned us about a thing called the Military Industrial Complex. Another President called this Leviathan the “Swamp”… it seems that some think a war economy is critical to our Nations Security, perhaps you like I believe otherwise.
As for those who made the ultimate sacrifice, they are hero’s they likely did it for those with whom they served, despite the politics that put them in harms way. I honor their commitment to an ideal and their love for their brothers in arms, and yes their country. We should honor them by insuring that we never again allow politicians to place our Nations Youth in a war that benefits only those who profit from war.

  13. So suddenly MAGA has a problem with someone misrepresenting facts, omitting important details, or telling outright lies. My how the world turns.

I’m glad you’re going to be holding your people to the same standard you’re holding the Democrats.

  14. Robert, consider the following.

    1) i believe the reason Jesus told us not to swear oaths is because we are all liars in our fallen state; we are incapable of telling truth properly. Therefore, even heroes lie by their imperfect human nature. Ergo a person is not a coward by virtue of being a liar.

    2) The opposite of here is coward. Anyone contending that all those in uniform are heroes is implying those who are not in uniform are cowards.

    3) If all those military people supporting combat forces are “of great importance” then the millions of hard-working taxpayers are of even greater importance since none of the military would even exist without them.

    4) Interestingly, you found the need to dredge up the history of Barbary Pirates to explain the US government’s role as world-wide police force. However, you noticeably omitted any explicit constitutional support such hegemony. It is blindingly obvious our military recruiters target young males for reasons other than just their physical fitness.

  16. Walz is proud of leaving his own mother to die alone during Covid.
Walz is proud of letting the orcs burn Minneapolis.
Walz is proud of running from the enemy.
Walz is proud of lying about his military record.
Walz is proud of ruining minnesota businesses during Covid.
Walz is proud of driving drunk and getting away with it.
Walz is a liar, a drunkard, a craven coward and a poltroon.

    • Citizenkane, you do know that Citizen Kane is a fictional story about an unhappy, abandoned, and lonely boy who grows up as isolated, and needy with an outward persona of immoral arrogance, attention-seeking devil consumed by his past, which is more apropos to that of the person it seems you’d sooner pledge personal allegiance than support as much younger person more evidence of appropriate patriotism to the United States of Americal as a vice-presidential candidate.

I am responding directly to you because you’ve made it your business to launch personal lying attack to Mr Walz to promote propaganda. You’ve no knowledge of Mr Walz’ personal pride, it appears. The only way that you can truthfully say anything would be to quote his personal statements in the context of what he, himself, states or writes.

Mr Walz did not express pride in letting orcs (whatever they are) to ‘burn’ Minneapolis.

During the COVID pandemic he did not ‘run’ from any enemies. unlike you hiding behind your snarky moniker. He did not say that he is proud of leaving his own mother who’d just underwent open heart surgery to die alone. You made that up. He did not ruin the businesses of Minnesota, nor did he express pride in having to make the careful decisions he made as governor of Minnesota during that time. In fact, if you looked any further than the end of your nose, you’d find his statements to the contrary, and actions — as most commonsense leadership maintained during the international crisis with the goal of avoiding as much death and morbidity that an unknown viral attack afforded … unlike the stupidly fearful actions of the President of the USA at the time which I am convinced that had that POS done the manly thing and acted like a mature person with the understanding of responsiblity to others in his role as leader of the free world, my beloved brother would be alive, and living his best life fishing along the Kenai.

Mr Walz did not state pride when he was arrested for driving drunk on a Saturday night at age 31 as a high school teacher and football coach, but immediately perceived what this might mean to his students, resigned from coaching, and told his principal that he would resign from teaching. Instead of quitting like a pussy, Mr Walz chose the high road, accepted the consequences and strove to overcome that failure. (By the way, one has suspicions about your sanctimonious pronouncements about Mr Walz.)

I don’t know you, and from the looks of what you write, I’d probably provide your prescription medications in a professional manner, and never care to understand whether you, indeed, are a craven coward, or in other words; a poltroon. chickenheart, or pusillanimous fool, or actually suffer the calamities for which you are so vociferous in condemning in others. And, of course, I would not ‘pass judgment’.
