Black Rifles Matter: No decision on Buscaglia

The Alaska Human Rights Commission board met, discussed, but did not decide on whether Executive Director Marti Buscaglia should keep her job.

The commission is set to meet again, perhaps as early as Friday, but no public notification has been made of the meeting. Monday’s meeting was an executive session to determine if the executive director can be salvaged, or if by allowing Buscaglia to keep her job, the entire organization would be compromised.

Buscaglia is in hot water because she in writing ordered an citizen to move his vehicle from the parking lot of the building where the Human Rights Commission is located in downtown Anchorage; Buscaglia gave him that order because the truck’s decal supporting the Second Amendment was offensive to her.

Her misdeed was compounded by the fact that she used her official business card, with the seal of the State of Alaska, to deliver the message on the man’s windshield, and then used the official Facebook page of the Commission to publicly deride the truck owner.

Gov. Michael Dunleavy called for an investigation led by the Department of Law, which led to a report given to the commission in advance of its Monday meeting.

The agency has not a posted meeting notice for further meetings this week.

  1. At a bare minimum Executive Director Marti Buscaglia must be removed from the Alaska Human Rights Commission or the Commission disbanded for blatant bias. I believe that a lawsuit against the state should be instituted and crowd funded to aid Mr. Linegar.

  2. Her assertion that hate speech was present in the form of a sticker on a privately owned truck, and attempting to regulate it with words of her choosing, is a form of hate speech unto itself. She is unfit to serve as HRC director for violating an innocent man’s free speech. She must be terminated from duty.

    The Ministry of Orthpraxy will never find it’s Priestess guilty of wrongthink. Why even have a job like that if you can’t lord it over the riff-raff? If they fire her they lose all their potential future fun as they will have conceded that they are subject to their own specious rules. What I nightmare for them.

  4. I can’t believe that they couldn’t come to a decision on this, it seems pretty cut and dry that she overstepped her bounds and in a big way.

    • They are the victims here. The badwhite man with the scary black rifle sticker could not possibly have had his civil rights violated by the Ministry of Orthopraxy. Did you miss the part where he’s a badwhite man and a plumber? If he had posted that on Twitter he’d be banned for targeted harassment. He was obviously trolling with his hate speech as badwhite men are known to do (as well as storm beaches in the defense of liberty).

      Based on their social media expectations the commision is probably shocked that he hasn’t fed his van into a crusher to destroy the offending sticker and apologized himself into oblivion. Clearly a badwhite exhibiting toxic masculinity. You can’t wrong that type of person.

      • If you think it is mostly white men that are storming the beaches in this day and age, then you haven’t paid much attention to the military in the last few decades. I thought you were a patriot?

        • There hasn’t been anyone storming any beaches for a long time, for liberty or otherwise.

          Patriot? What does this phrase from the Preamble of the Constitution mean to you? “…and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity,”

          Maybe you think H1Bs and border hoppers are the posterity they were speaking of. Maybe you aren’t a patriot.

  6. Three questions- why is Kendall Rhyne skating on this? Why is there no focus on her trying to cost him his livelihood? Since when did the Human Rights Commission get the duty to police incorrect thinking? Since hate speech is covered by free speech she should be protecting his right to a sticker no matter how offensive she thought it was rather than attacking him.
