President Donald Trump has declared churches and other places of worship are considered “essential services.” Across the country, houses of worship were closed by governments during the coronavirus pandemic.
The president declared “houses of worship, churches, synagogues and mosques” to be “essential places that provide essential services.”
“Some governors have deemed liquor stores and abortion clinics as essential, but have left out churches and other houses of worship,” Trump said. “It’s not right. So, I’m correcting this injustice and calling houses of worship ‘essential.'”
“I’m call governors upon governors to allow our churches and places of worship to open right now,” he said during a press availability at the White House on Friday afternoon.
Mayor B. will have a bone to pick with that. Mayor B. is a demon when it comes to opening churches.

My church never closed, Dunleavy’s mandate closing churches was unconstitutional. Any church that closed did so of its own free will.
And stayed open of free will as well Mongo. No cops cited your pastor. So why do you treat this Governor like the socialist in NY, NJ, CA, IL, MA, etc.?
It is past time for Mayor B to stop ? trying show he should be elected governor or senator. His playing the better leader than Dunleavy only shows how petty and tyrannical he is and alienates everyone living in Anchorage. It makes him look like the small man he is. He has no better benchmarks and/or plan then the Governor. He just wants to exercise his perceived power before his Subjects. How many businesses did his inspectors write $1000 tickets to for opening when the Gov said they could or on Monday when the little man said? Pretty demeaning using his power against his own voters and citizens. Do you want this man to continue in any office??
