Resolution: Assembly to ask mayor to require masks in all Muni buildings

Meg Zaletel

The Anchorage Assembly has a resolution it will consider at Tuesday’s meeting that asks the mayor to reinstate a mask mandate in all municipal buildings.

The rationale being give by Assemblyman Pete Petersen and Assemblywoman Meg Zaletel is that the Delta variant of the Covid virus is circulating in Alaska and around the U.S., and that Alaska has seen a spike in cases in recent weeks, hospitals are overwhelmed.

Hospital administrators are expected to show up at the meeting and testify on the item, which has not been scheduled for any public hearings; any public comment on this item will need to be done at the beginning of the meeting, as time allows.

The Assembly meeting begins at 5 pm at the Loussac Library in midtown Anchorage. The agenda item is at this link.

  1. Hospitals are only over-run because of short staffing. They were already short staffed before all of this, and now requiring mandatory pricking is only going to make the staffing shortages worse. Hospitals have more than enough beds!! MSM would have you believe otherwise though!!

    • Slaves such as yourself should definitely keep your security blankets securely fastened to your face. It gives you purpose. It allows you to signal your fear as a virtue. A reason to live. Without your fear, you would be nothing but an empty shell, waiting for the next outrage. It is much better to keep you occupied with the fear of your impending doom than it would be to have you freely roaming around in society, living amongst the free ones.

Keep getting those boosters. There are kids that need to go to college and every shot you miss is money out of their pockets.

  2. Suffocator’s remorse. Mask wearers are getting 40% less oxygen to their brains and showing signs of CO2 toxicity. Alertiveness and orientation decline is a symptom of acidosis from CO2 build-up. Pick your poison. Mask wearers seem to be low energy people and subject to mental declination.

    • The fear of scarcity is what keeps the slaves in line. Without fear, what would they do with themselves. Perhaps live their lives? They can’t have that, they need to be told what to do and how to think and the best way is through fear.
Turn off the TV. There is a reality for the slaves, and then there are those who live in freedom.
      Be free.

  3. “…and that Alaska has seen a spike in cases in recent weeks, hospitals are overwhelmed.”
    .
Overwhelmed? Not by COVID patients. The AK State DHSS dashboard is showing approx. 20% of hospital patients are COVID positive. If COVID-19 is not causing the hospital problems, adding a mask mandate is not necessary.

Oh, and ask these hospital administrators what their normal occupancy rate is during a normal year. I would be surprised to see if it is less than what they are at now. In fact, occupancy less that 90% or so likely will not generate enough revenue to keep the lights on.

    • Agreed. When perusing the dashboard one also notes that the reporting date graphic includes “confirmed” and “probable” cases, while the patients on ventilator numbers include “confirmed” and “suspected”. This makes the numbers pretty worthless as the categories are not broken down into these components. Does the daily number include “probable” cases?
Bottom line: If you want to wear a mask nobody is stopping you. There is no need to make it mandatory.

    • When has “Just say NO” ever worked well? Why would anyone listen to an retired airlines pilot wearing a Mayor’s hat, about staying healthy during a pandemic? Some might listen if he was flying an entire airplane of infected COVID-19 patients who were coughing and wheezing and asking for a vaccine.

      • That’s a laugh! You would rather listen to an immature national guard lawyer, who pouts in the corner and plots to undermine the duly elected office holder. Tell me what does Forrest know about a pandemic or staying healthy?? At least Mayor Bronson gives you a choice, wear a mask, social distance to your hearts contend and he isn’t keeping you from getting a vaccine or three, either.

  4. Yes, as pointed out by the current President, “we need to protect the vaccinated”. Makes perfect sense to me.

And, similar to climate change, if you are really concerned about the spread of Covid in the community, elimination of a portion of the population can fix that.

      • More blanket assumptions about others, and demonization of others not in agreement with you, Greg. Truly contemptible. It is EXACTLY your vile mentality that leads to concentration camps.

      • False.

I have not been vaccinated for anything in my adult life. Been in the best health of anyone I know. I came down with covid, and recovered. No I did not take up any precious ICU bed. I took care of myself, because I am responsible for myself. I am much better now. Better than ever. I live life fully and am not manipulated into action by numbers that your big daddy government and news keeps on the screen.

This reality is not as it seems, but you go ahead and keep playing its game. Be the good little slave you are. Bless your heart, you just don’t know any better.

Meanwhile, I will continue to evolve in my existence, WITHOUT any help from any so-called authority.

        Get it by your hands.

      • Oh Greg, get off your bandwagon and smell the roses…oh I forgot you still wear triple masks. The Biden/Harris statement is so nonsensical it isn’t even funny. First of all why would the vaccinated need protecting, they are after all VACCINATED! ( and according to you that is the panacea of this pandemic). Your arrogance in writing off a large number of your fellow Americans is pretty callous on your part. You will be disappointed to find that the vast majority of them will still be around to annoy you. You are right about one thing though you and your ilk are totally focused on yourselves and demand that your will be done…or else.
