Kentucky Democrat Gov. Beshear says JD Vance’s family needs to be r*ped so he will understand it

It’s campaign season and leading politicians are saying some things they might regret. Case in point, on MSNBC, Kentucky Democrat Gov. Andy Beshear, while trying to make a point about abortion exceptions, said a member of vice presidential candidate JD Vance’s family needs to be raped so Vance will understand the need for abortions.

“Make him go through this,” Beshear said.

Later, when asked about the remark, Beshear refused to apologize.

“What the hell is this? Why is @AndyBeshearKY wishing that a member of my family would get raped?!? What a disgusting person,” Vance wrote in response.

Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky said, “Please don’t judge Kentucky based on our Democrat Governor’s disgusting remarks.”

It’s game time, Alaska: Where will you vote today?

It’s primary Election Day in Alaska, the day Alaskans decide which candidates have the best judgment, character, energy, and talent to represent them in the state House, state Senate, and U.S. House of Representatives.

The polls are now open and will close at 8 p.m. Tuesday. On Tuesday morning, sign-wavers for congressional candidate Nick Begich gathered in the parking lot of Carrs/Safeway at the corner of New Seward Highway and Northern Lights Blvd. Other candidates will have their sign-waving crews out as well along the major intersections, an Alaska election-day tradition to catch the attention of the going-to-work crowd and the going-home crowd of potential voters.

Sign wavers were also out in Fairbanks this morning under cloudy skies.

Fairbanks sign-wavers were out in force on Tuesday morning.

Given the problems with the elections already by Division of Elections, with late ballots getting out to villages and lack of information available to the media and candidates, at least the division won’t be overwhelmed by a huge turnout, or so it appears.

Turnout so far in early voting and absentee has been up over 2018 and 2020’s turnout, but down from 2022. Early votes received from Aug. 5 through Aug. 18 totaled 12,534, down from 18,296 in the same time period in 2022, but that year there was a “special general” and regular primary after the unexpected death of Congressman Don Young.

This year, there are 9,715 outstanding absentee ballots that were sent out to voters at their request but have not been returned to the Division of Elections.

To find out where you can vote, check this link at the Division of Elections.

This ballot is an open ballot, with all candidates appearing, regardless of party. Democrats have remained disciplined in not running more than one credible Democrat in any race. Republicans have not done the same, but only a few races will have decisions made in the primary.

In races with fewer than four candidates, all four will proceed to the November ballot.

Only the congressional seat, the state Senate seat L for Eagle River, and House District 36 for Interior will have a winnowing of candidates in this election to get to a final four. The congressional seat is the one with the most candidates — 12, with four of them registered Republicans.

If all goes according to past history, most races will have results known by 10 p.m. Tuesday. The Division will then not release the late-arriving absentee numbers for seven days, and then another release on Day 10 after the election, Aug. 30.

Candidates who are chosen to proceed to the Nov. 5 general election ballot will have until Sept. 2 to drop.

Fairbanks police job listing goes viral as Anchorage officers lose hope under Mayor LaFrance and Chief Case

52

It was several days after a 16-year-old Anchorage resident was shot and killed before Anchorage Police Chief Sean Case made it clear that the large teen had approached an officer with a knife in her hand and refused to drop it after multiple commands. The incident took place last Tuesday.

In the meantime, the Anchorage mayor, a defund-the-police liberal, had apologized to the family for their daughter’s death, saying it should not have happened.

Mayor Suzanne LaFrance all but blamed police for the incident during Thursday’s press conference, even though police had been called to the scene after the young woman was reportedly threatening family members with a 7-inch bladed knife.

Four days ago, the Fairbanks Police Department posted a job listing targeting those who don’t feel supported by the command chain.

“Are you in a place that’s not the right fit? It could be time for a change. You deserve a department and community that have your back and support the men and women who perform real police work!” the job listing says on Facebook. “Many police officers face the problem of working in an environment that isn’t supportive to law enforcement, fulfilling, or the right fit for their lifestyle. Fairbanks Police is different!”

After listing the pay and benefits, the post says:

“You don’t have to work in an environment that leaves police hung out to dry or where you feel unappreciated and unfulfilled. Come to a place where you and your family can thrive, you can have financial stability, and you receive professional development that sets you up to do the real police work you want to do!”

Anchorage police officers say they feel betrayed by LaFrance and Chief Case, who would not call for people to suspend their snap judgments about what happened until an investigation is completed. LaFrance even implied she would not trust an investigation by the Internal Affairs team at the department and wanted her own investigation, in addition to the required state investigation from the Office of Special Prosecutions.

Police officers tell Must Read Alaska they do not trust Chief Case, who hung the officer who shot the teen out to dry before the facts were known, as he catered to the wishes of the mayor, who has consistently been a critic of law enforcement.

Past his prime: Biden pushed into dead of night at Democratic National Convention

23

President Joe Biden’s appearance on the first night of the Democratic National Convention was delayed, and delayed more, by speakers who came before him and didn’t stick to their scheduled times.

He was pushed far past the primetime hours and into a time slot that had the least possible viewers.

After other speakers had hogged the microphone, it was 90 minutes past his allotted time when Biden finally took the stage at 11:30 p.m. He then he read from the teleprompter for 48 minutes, ending at 12:18 a.m.

“It’s been the honor of my lifetime to serve as your president. I love the job, but I love my country more. All this talk about how I’m angry at all the people who said I should step down — it’s not true. I love my country more, and we need to preserve our democracy in 2024. We need you to vote. We need you to keep the Senate and the House of Representatives. And above all, we need you to beat Donald Trump,” Biden said toward the end of his speech, which laid out numerous falsehoods and false promises. Among them:

“Kamala and Tim will continue to take on corporate greed and bring down the cost of food.”

Food is expensive because of inflation caused by Biden-Harris policies. Harris is promising Soviet-style price controls.

“You know we have a thousand trillion, thousand billionaires in America.”

“There are fewer border crossings today than when Donald Trump left office.”

“Trump continues to lie about the border. Here’s what he won’t tell you… Trump killed the strongest bipartisan border deal in the history of the United States.”

“During the pandemic, Kamala and I helped states and cities get their schools back open.”

Biden yelled angrily throughout much of his reading of the speech he was provided, as he defended his record and promised more of the same under Harris. He seemed to be no recognition that the country has lost confidence in him, noted Fox News’ Britt Hume.

Biden criticized Trump for having an America-first foreign policy, and described how he spent 190 hours unwinding that policy.

Day Two of the Democratic National Convention will erase all the memory of Biden’s swan song and begin the new era with the nominees of Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.

Tuesday’s theme for the convention is: “A Bold Vision for America’s Future.” Speakers on Tuesday include former President Barack Obama, former First Lady Michelle Obama, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, and Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker.

Scenes from protests during DNC Day One in Chicago

By GREG BISHOP | THE CENTER SQUARE

Protesters clashed with police on Day 1 of the Democratic National Convention Monday with more demonstrations expected.

During a security briefing as the day’s activities were getting underway, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson said Chicago is ready.

“The city of Chicago is really good at things like this,” Johnson said. “It’s the reason why we’ve hosted more national and political conventions than anywhere else in America.”

Chicago Police Superintendent Larry Snelling was asked about the potential that protest groups would get inside the perimeter.

“No one will be allowed within the secure perimeter of the DNC,” Snelling told reporters. “This is a matter of national security.”

Later in the day, demonstrators, some wearing masks and holding an array of signs, butted up against security barricades. Among the thousands of demonstrators marching toward the United Center as official events were getting underway Monday night were those looking for more LGBTQ equality, abortion rights and an end to Israel’s war in Gaza with chants of “free, free, free, free Palestine.”

Protester Frank Chapman, of the National Alliance Against Racist & Political Repression, said all U.S. aid to Israel must end.

“We want Palestine to win,” he told the cheering crowd.

That issue got the attention of Illinois U.S. Sen. Tammy Duckworth, D-Schaumburg.

“We do need to continue to support our ally Israel,” Duckworth said. “At the same time, we need to remember the hostages need to come home. Many of them have died in captivity. But, we also have to work at getting humanitarian aid into Gaza.”

Protests are expected to continue through the rest of the DNC, which runs through Thursday.

Passings: John Hendrickson, former aide to Gov. Wally Hickel

Alaskan John Hendrickson died at age 59 at Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga, New York the morning of Aug. 19.

Hendrickson was a former state tennis champion who was coached by former Anchorage Mayor Dan Sullivan, was a tennis instructor, and served as an aide to Gov. Wally Hickel.

A West High School graduate from Anchorage, he met and married Marylou Whitney, the sole heir to the $100 million estate of the late Cornelius Vanderbilt Whitney. He and Whitney met after he appeared on a segment of The Oprah Winfrey Show in 1989, an episode that was about Alaskan men looking for brides. He and Whitney got acquainted during one of her dog-sledding adventures, according to an article from The Buffalo News in 1997.

The two had a vast age difference and their romance and marriage was the subject of much talk at the time — she was 71 and he was 32, when he proposed at Buckingham Palace. But they had a relationship that endured the speculation until her death in 2019 at the age of 93.

According to news accounts of the era, “We’re just two people in love trying to grab our share of happiness in the world,” Hendrickson said, claiming he did not even know Whitney’s precise age. He added that it mattered not a whit that onlookers might mistake Whitney for his mother while they are out on dates. “If they told me that, I’d say ‘I hope she spanks me,’ ” he said, when they married in August of 1996.

Hendrickson was elected chairman of the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in 2017, served as a former New York Racing Association board member, and was a special adviser to Gov. Andrew Cuomo on matters pertaining to Saratoga racing, according to news reports out of New York.

Whitney was a lifelong breeder and owner of thoroughbred race horses and was a well-known philanthropist and socialite who was known as the “Queen of Saratoga.” She also loved the Iditarod Sled Dog Race and flew from Anchorage to Nome, monitoring the dogs and her sponsored musher, Martin Buser, along the route numerous times. Both of Hendrickson and Whitney were generous contributors to many political campaigns in Alaska over the years.

He worked to get a public tennis facility built in Anchorage and paid to have the courts at Lyn Ary Parks refurbished, and they were renamed the Hendrickson Courts at Lyn Ary Park.

The cause of his death has not been made public yet, nor have details of his memorial.

Passings: Paul Jenkins, longtime Alaska journalist, who went through the Great Alaska Newspaper War

Conservative journalist Paul Jenkins, who went from being an Associated Press reporter to becoming managing editor of the Anchorage Times, an editor of the Voice of the Times, editor of the Anchorage Daily Planet and finally a columnist at the Anchorage Daily News, has died. That is according to his former longtime colleague Robert Dillon, who announced it on Facebook. The announcement was corroborated by a family member.

Jenkins was at the Anchorage Times during the intense newspaper war between the conservative Times and the liberal Anchorage Daily News. The Times eventually lost that war and Jenkins became the editor of a page temporarily dedicated to the Times‘ conservative opinions, called Voice of the Times, which used to be published in the Anchorage Daily News as part of an agreement between the papers, when the Times folded in 1992.

In December, Howard Weaver, former editor of the Anchorage Daily News during the newspaper war, also died. Like Jenkins, he was in his mid-70s.

Jenkins, named for his father, was a quiet man who kept his personal life to himself, but wrote a eulogy for his own father in 2015 that revealed much about himself as a man, and also showed what elegance he possessed as a writer:

“Fathers make men. Mothers polish them, smooth the rough edges, make them human — but fathers make them. They are our first role models, the guys we emulate — until, as teens, we decide they are stupid — the guys who imprint upon us, in ways good and bad, a roadmap for our lives. Men love their mothers, but spend their lives trying to win their fathers’ approval,” he wrote.

“Mine was perhaps the proudest, hardest man I have known. He knew the Depression’s hunger, the Dust Bowl’s calamity. He lived a life of personal honor. He would never lie. Never cheat. Never take advantage. There was right; there was wrong. He was an absolute stickler for personal responsibility and accountability, grim death on tardiness. It was the military in him, I suppose. ‘3 p.m. does not mean 3:01,’ he would growl. ‘It means 2:55.'”

Rep. Dan Saddler, responding to the news on Facebook, wrote, “Just heard this sad news. When I first encountered Paul he was the big, gruff, unapproachable AP reporter. Then he was the big, gruff Times ME with a cynical sense of humor and a passion for the Times-News war. Then he was the cut-through-the-BS editorial writer for Voice of the Times, and later on the political blogs. Then, he was the retired guy at the local gym, increasingly less big, but always just as gruff, and incisive, and funny. Damn, Paul was one of the good ones. It hurts to hear he’s gone.”

Jenkins was in his mid-70s and lived in Eagle River. Must Read Alaska has no further details about his passing at this time. This story may be updated, as details become known.

“I was honored to have him as a friend and editor of the Anchorage Daily Planet. He was everything a journalist and opinion writer should be. His license plate said it better than I could, ’30,'” said Mike Porcaro, former publisher of the Daily Planet.

Compare and contrast: Page one of Democrats’ party platform and Republican platform

39

The Democratic Party’s platform dedicates its first page to a land acknowledgement.

DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

The Democratic National Committee wishes to acknowledge that we gather together to state our values on lands that have been stewarded through many centuries by the ancestors and descendants of Tribal Nations who have been here since time immemorial.
We honor the communities native to this continent, and recognize that our country was built on Indigenous homelands.
We pay our respects to the millions of Indigenous people throughout history who have protected our lands, waters, and animals.

We respectfully acknowledge that we present this Platform at our 2020 Democratic National Convention on the lands of the Bad River Band of the Lake Superior Tribe of Chippewa Indians, the Forest County Potawatomi Community, the Ho-Chunk Nation, the Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, the Menominee Nation, the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin, the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, the St. Croix Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin, the Sokaogon Chippewa Community, and the Stockbridge-Munsee Community, Band of Mohican Indians.

The DNC then goes on to its preamble:

America is an idea—one that has endured and evolved through war and depression, prevailed over fascism and communism, and radiated hope to far distant corners of the earth. Americans believe that diversity is our greatest strength. That protest is among the highest forms of patriotism. That our fates and fortunes are bound to rise and fall together. That even when we fall short of our highest ideals, we never stop trying to build a more perfect union.

When the American people go to the polls this fall, we will be choosing more than a candidate. Character is on the ballot in this election. The character of our President, yes, but more than that: the character of our democracy, our society, and our leadership in the world.

The challenges before us—the worst public health crisis in a century, the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression, the worst period of global upheaval in a generation, the urgent global crisis posed by climate change, the intolerable racial injustice that still stains the fabric of our nation—will test America’s character like never before.

The COVID-19 pandemic has laid bare deep-seated problems in our society—the fragility of our economy and social safety net, the risks posed by growing inequality, the impacts of racial and economic disparities on health and well-being, and the profound consequences of deepening polarization and political paralysis.

The bill has come due on the Trump Administration’s hollowing out of our public institutions: the sidelining of experts, the rejection of science, the underinvestment in research, and the gross corruption and abuses of power. President Trump’s dereliction of duty has caused the deaths of tens of thousands of Americans, the loss of tens of millions of American jobs, and lasting harm to our children’s education and future.

And it has revealed, at tragic economic and human cost, the emptiness of the Republican Party’s “America First” foreign policy. Under President Trump, America stands alone. Friends and foes alike neither admire nor fear President Trump’s leadership—they dismiss and ridicule it. The Republican Party under President Trump has made America small—when we are a people called to do the greatest things.

Democrats will fight to repair the soul of this nation. To unite and to heal our country. To turn this crisis into a crucible, from which we will forge a stronger, brighter, and more equitable future.

We must right the wrongs in our democracy, redress the systemic injustices that have long plagued our society, throw open the doors of opportunity for all Americans, and reinvent our institutions at home and our leadership abroad. We do not simply aspire to return our country to where we were four years ago. We know we must be bolder and more ambitious.

We must once again stop another Republican recession from becoming a second Great Depression. President Trump and the Republican Party have rigged the economy in favor of the wealthiest few and the biggest corporations, and left working families and small businesses out in the cold. Democrats will forge a new social and economic contract with the American people—a contract that creates millions of new jobs and promotes shared prosperity, closes racial gaps in income and wealth, guarantees the right to join or form a union, raises wages and ensures equal pay for women and paid family leave for all, and safeguards a secure and dignified retirement.

We must guarantee health care not as a privilege for some, but as a right for every single American. For a century, Democrats have fought to secure universal health care. In the depths of the COVID-19 pandemic, President Trump and the Republican Party are trying to tear health care away from millions of people who depend on it for survival. Democrats will not allow that to happen. We will not rest until every American can access quality health care and affordable prescription drugs.

We must steel and strengthen our democracy, not distort and debase it. Democrats believe there is nothing to fear from the voices and votes of the American people. We will restore the full power of the Voting Rights Act and stamp out voter suppression in all its forms. We will curb the corrupting influence of money in politics and protect the integrity of our elections from all enemies, foreign and domestic. We will never accept political gridlock as our fate. We will never tire in our fight to deliver results and create opportunity for all Americans. And we will end the war on government that has politicized our institutions, denigrated public service, and left the American people on their own instead of working to make them whole.

We must heal our nation’s deepest wounds, not fan the flames of hate. Democrats will root out structural and systemic racism in our economy and our society, and reform our criminal justice system from top to bottom, because we believe Black lives matter. We will ensure that our nation continues to prize diversity and compassion, and welcomes those who yearn to participate in our great democratic experiment by creating a humane, 21st century immigration system that benefits all Americans.

We will give hate no safe harbor. We will never amplify or legitimize the voices of racism, misogyny, anti-Semitism, anti-Muslim bigotry, or white supremacy. Democrats will protect and promote the equal rights of all our citizens—women, LGBTQ+ people, religious minorities, people with disabilities, Native Americans, and all who have been discriminated against in too many ways and for too many generations. We commit ourselves to the vision articulated by Frederick Douglass of “a Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all.”

We must lead the world in taking on the climate crisis, not deny the science and accelerate the damage. From Houston, Texas, to Mexico Beach, Florida; from San Juan, Puerto Rico, to Davenport, Iowa, the last four years have seen record-breaking storms, devastating wildfires, and historic floods. Democrats will rejoin the Paris Climate Agreement and go further, building a thriving, equitable, and globally competitive clean energy economy that puts workers and communities first, and leaves no one behind.

We must provide a world-class education in every ZIP code, to every child, because education is a critical public good. Democrats believe in universal early childhood education, and affordable, high-quality child care. We will shut down the school-to-prison pipeline, and build a school-to-opportunity pipeline in its place. We will make college affordable again, and give Americans relief from crushing student debt.

We commit to a foreign policy that accelerates our domestic renewal, not undermines it. We will focus on what matters most to Americans—more and better jobs, greater security, a cleaner environment, and a more inclusive and resilient society. Democrats will lead with diplomacy as our tool of first resort and mobilize our allies and partners to meet the tests none of us can meet on our own. We will stand up to the forces of authoritarianism, not aid and abet their rise, and we will speak and act with clarity and purpose on behalf of human rights wherever they are under threat. And we will honor our sacred covenant with our women and men in uniform, our veterans, and our military families who have carried the burdens of wars that must—at long last—come to an end.

Above all, Democrats still believe in the American idea—its principles, its purpose, and its promise. We know that four more years of the crass, craven, corrupt leadership we have seen from Donald Trump and the Republican Party will damage our character and our country beyond repair. We pray, as Langston Hughes did, “O, let America be America again—the land that never has been yet—and yet must be—the land where every man is free.” Democrats call on all Americans to come together and seize this last, best chance to restore the soul of our nation—and vote this November to ensure our greatest days are still to come.

On the other hand, the Republican platform starts out with this preamble:

2024 GOP PLATFORM – MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

Dedication: To the Forgotten Men and Women of America

PREAMBLE

America First: A Return to Common Sense

Our Nation’s History is filled with the stories of brave men and women who gave everything they had to build America into the Greatest Nation in the History of the World. Generations of American Patriots have summoned the American Spirit of Strength, Determination, and Love of Country to overcome seemingly insurmountable challenges. The American People have proven time and again that we can overcome any obstacle and any force pitted against us.

In the early days of our Republic, the Founding Generation defeated what was then the most powerful Empire the World had ever seen. In the 20th Century, America vanquished Nazism and Fascism, and then triumphed over Soviet Communism after forty-four years of the Cold War.

But now we are a Nation in SERIOUS DECLINE. Our future, our identity, and our very way of life are under threat like never before. Today we must once again call upon the same American Spirit that led us to prevail through every challenge of the past if we are going to lead our Nation to a brighter future.

For decades, our politicians sold our jobs and livelihoods to the highest bidders overseas with unfair Trade Deals and a blind faith in the siren song of globalism. They insulated themselves from criticism and the consequences of their own bad actions, allowing our Borders to be overrun, our cities to be overtaken by crime, our System of Justice to be weaponized, and our young people to develop a sense of hopelessness and despair. They rejected our History and our Values. Quite simply, they did everything in their power to destroy our Country.

In 2016, President Donald J. Trump was elected as an unapologetic Champion of the American People. He reignited the American Spirit and called on us to renew our National Pride. His Policies spurred Historic Economic Growth, Job Creation, and a Resurgence of American Manufacturing. President Trump and the Republican Party led America out of the pessimism induced by decades of failed leadership, showing us that the American People want Greatness for our Country again.

Yet after nearly four years of the Biden administration, America is now rocked by Raging Inflation, Open Borders, Rampant Crime, Attacks on our Children, and Global Conflict, Chaos, and Instability.

Like the Heroes who built and defended this Nation before us, we will never give up. We will restore our Nation of, by, and for the People. We will Make America Great Again.

We will be a Nation based on Truth, Justice, and Common Sense.

Common Sense tells us clearly, in President Trump’s words, that “If we don’t have a Border, we don’t have a Country.” Restoring sensible Border Security and Immigration Policy requires many steps, all of which would have been and indeed were taken for granted by prior Generations as obviously necessary and good. We must secure our Southern Border by completing the Border Wall that President Trump started. Hundreds of miles have already been built and work magnificently. The remaining Wall construction can be completed quickly, effectively, and inexpensively. We must also vigilantly check those who enter our Country by other routes and ensure that no one can enter our Country who does not have the Legal Right to do so, and we must deport the millions of illegal Migrants who Joe Biden has deliberately encouraged to invade our Country. We will start by prioritizing the most dangerous criminals and working with local Police. We must not allow Biden’s Migrant Invasion to alter our Country. It must not stand. Under the Trump Administration and a Republican Congress, it will be defeated immediately.

Common Sense tells us clearly that if we don’t have Domestic Manufacturing with low Inflation, not only will our Economy—and even our Military Equipment and Supplies—be at the mercy of Foreign Nations, but our Towns, Communities, and People cannot thrive. The Republican Party must return to its roots as the Party of Industry, Manufacturing, Infrastructure, and Workers. President Trump’s economic policy to end Inflation and return Manufacturing Jobs is not only what the American Economy and American Workers need right now, it is also what they want right now.

Common Sense tells us clearly that we must unleash American Energy if we want to destroy Inflation and rapidly bring down prices, build the Greatest Economy in History, revive our Defense Industrial Base, fuel Emerging Industries, and establish the United States as the Manufacturing Superpower of the World. We will DRILL, BABY, DRILL and we will become Energy Independent, and even Dominant again. The United States has more liquid gold under our feet than any other Nation, and it’s not even close. The Republican Party will harness that potential to power our future.

Common Sense tells us clearly that if we don’t have a Strong Military, we won’t be able to defend our interests and we will be at the mercy of Hostile Nations. The Policy of the Republican Party must be to ensure that America’s Military is the strongest and best-equipped in the World—and that our Government uses that great strength sparingly, and only in clear instances where our National Interests are threatened.

Common Sense tells us clearly that the Republican Party must stand for Equal Treatment for All. Likewise, the Republican Party must ensure the equal application of law to all regardless of political affiliation or personal beliefs. Recent Democrat-led political persecutions threaten to destroy 250 years of American Principle and Practice and must be stopped.

America needs determined Republican Leadership at every level of Government to address the core threats to our very survival: Our disastrously Open Border, our weakened Economy, crippling restrictions on American Energy Production, our depleted Military, attacks on the American System of Justice, and much more.

To make clear our commitment, we offer to the American people the 2024 GOP Platform to Make America Great Again! It is a forward-looking Agenda that begins with the following twenty promises that we will accomplish very quickly when we win the White House and Republican Majorities in the House and Senate.

  1. SEAL THE BORDER, AND STOP THE MIGRANT INVASION
  2. CARRY OUT THE LARGEST DEPORTATION OPERATION IN AMERICAN HISTORY
  3. END INFLATION, AND MAKE AMERICA AFFORDABLE AGAIN
  4. MAKE AMERICA THE DOMINANT ENERGY PRODUCER IN THE WORLD, BY FAR!
  5. STOP OUTSOURCING, AND TURN THE UNITED STATES INTO A MANUFACTURING SUPERPOWER
  6. LARGE TAX CUTS FOR WORKERS, AND NO TAX ON TIPS!
  7. DEFEND OUR CONSTITUTION, OUR BILL OF RIGHTS, AND OUR FUNDAMENTAL FREEDOMS, INCLUDING FREEDOM OF SPEECH, FREEDOM OF RELIGION, AND THE RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS
  8. PREVENT WORLD WAR THREE, RESTORE PEACE IN EUROPE AND IN THE MIDDLE EAST, AND BUILD A GREAT IRON DOME MISSILE DEFENSE SHIELD OVER OUR ENTIRE COUNTRY — ALL MADE IN AMERICA
  9. END THE WEAPONIZATION OF GOVERNMENT AGAINST THE AMERICAN PEOPLE
  10. STOP THE MIGRANT CRIME EPIDEMIC, DEMOLISH THE FOREIGN DRUG CARTELS, CRUSH GANG VIOLENCE, AND LOCK UP VIOLENT OFFENDERS
  11. REBUILD OUR CITIES, INCLUDING WASHINGTON DC, MAKING THEM SAFE, CLEAN, AND BEAUTIFUL AGAIN.
  12. STRENGTHEN AND MODERNIZE OUR MILITARY, MAKING IT, WITHOUT QUESTION, THE STRONGEST AND MOST POWERFUL IN THE WORLD
  13. KEEP THE U.S. DOLLAR AS THE WORLD’S RESERVE CURRENCY
  14. FIGHT FOR AND PROTECT SOCIAL SECURITY AND MEDICARE WITH NO CUTS, INCLUDING NO CHANGES TO THE RETIREMENT AGE
  15. CANCEL THE ELECTRIC VEHICLE MANDATE AND CUT COSTLY AND BURDENSOME REGULATIONS
  16. CUT FEDERAL FUNDING FOR ANY SCHOOL PUSHING CRITICAL RACE THEORY, RADICAL GENDER IDEOLOGY, AND OTHER INAPPROPRIATE RACIAL, SEXUAL, OR POLITICAL CONTENT ON OUR CHILDREN
  17. KEEP MEN OUT OF WOMEN’S SPORTS
  18. DEPORT PRO-HAMAS RADICALS AND MAKE OUR COLLEGE CAMPUSES SAFE AND PATRIOTIC AGAIN
  19. SECURE OUR ELECTIONS, INCLUDING SAME DAY VOTING, VOTER IDENTIFICATION, PAPER BALLOTS, AND PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP
  20. UNITE OUR COUNTRY BY BRINGING IT TO NEW AND RECORD LEVELS OF SUCCESS

When America is united, confident, and committed to our principles, it will never fail.

Today and together, with Love for our Country, Faith in our People, and Trust in God’s Good Grace, we will Make America Great Again!

Peltola poor-mouths for campaign cash, while sitting on millions of Act Blue dollars in massive war chest

Rep. Mary Peltola has many times the cash on hand in her campaign than either Nick Begich or Nancy Dahlstrom have. Yet, she is currently conning sympathetic Alaskans into thinking that she has no money to run a campaign on.

In her recent fundraising letter, Peltola said that the Decision Desk HQ modeling shows her slipping into the loss category, and she begs people to send money to her campaign — money that she says she will split 50-50 with the Alaska Democratic Party.

Here’s the pitch she is using:

“I hate emailing you with bad news…” said her subject line.

“I’ve been dreading a moment like this … Decision Desk HQ is projecting that my far-right opponents are now favored to win the race,” she wrote.

“But here’s the good news, and why I need you to step up: Even though my opponents are slightly favored right now, this race is still a total tossup,” Peltola said, untruthfully.

So here’s what I’m going to do: I’m going to spend these next months putting all of my energy into winning this race, so I can keep fighting for our pro-fish, pro-choice, pro-jobs, pro-freedom agenda,” she continued.

“But [Friend], I don’t want to wake up the day after the election regretting not doing more, and I’m sure you don’t either! So please, can you split $25 between the Alaska Democratic Party and me before midnight so I can expand my campaign’s voter turnout efforts and win? Without your support, my opponents have a real shot at winning,” Peltola wrote.

A look at Decision Desk HQ does not show what Peltola claims it shows.

Right now, she is modeled by that analytic tool as favored to win Alaska. Not only that, she had at least $3.6 million in her war chest this spring; as of July 31 her cash on hand was $2,836,013.45. Money is pouring in.

Peltola was showing her potential donors some old data from June 11, when the race was a possible tossup, according to the Decision Desk HQ model. And she is concealing the fact that she has raised far more than the late Congressman Don Young ever raised. In the 2020 cycle, Young raised $1,950,289, while Peltola this year, through the miracle of the Act Blue donor system, has raised $7,541,673.

The Decision Desk HQ July 18 modeling clearly says: “Our model currently predicts that Mary Peltola has a 52% chance of winning Alaska At Large.”
