A group of US senators, including Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski, have sent a letter to the Biden Administration, requesting a special category be established for certain Afghans trying to escape the country as the Taliban take control and begin executing people in the streets and in their homes.

Forty-three of the 46 signers were Democrats, and the others were Murkowski, Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, and Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma, Republicans.

“We and our staff are receiving regular reports regarding the targeting, threatening, kidnapping, torturing, and assassinations of women for their work defending and promoting democracy, equality, higher education, and human rights. While we welcomed the expansion of the eligibility requirements for Special Immigrant Visas and the creation of the Priority 2 category in the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program, we must also protect those women who might fall through the cracks of the U.S. Government’s response,” the letter said.

It seems like a big ask for an administration that announced today that it cannot even ensure the safety or help any Americans in Afghanistan who are not already at the Kabul airport.

THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT CANNOT ENSURE SAFE PASSAGE TO THE HAMID KARZAI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT,” the US Embassy in Kabul told American citizens in a security alert today. Space of flights out of Kabul are now on a first-come, first serve basis. “Please be advised that a significant number of individuals have registered and space on these flights is available on a first come, first serve basis.  You may be required to wait at the airport for a significant amount of time until space is available.”

In addition, the Biden Administration in June canceled the Trump program that was set up to oversee the evacuation of American citizens stationed overseas. Just as the Taliban were breaking the terms of the agreement set forth with the Trump Administration, Biden’s State Department dismantled the Trump crisis response program, according to an internal State Department memo obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

“That memo, which was marked sensitive but unclassified and was signed by Deputy Secretary Brian McKeon, approved the ‘discontinuation of the establishment, and termination of, the Contingency and Crisis Response Bureau (CCR),’ a new State Department entity created during the Trump administration to coordinate emergency response services overseas,” the news agency reported.

“The CCR bureau was established late last year by then-secretary of state Mike Pompeo. In a notification sent to Congress in October and also obtained by the Free Beacon, the Trump administration said the new bureau would provide ‘aviation, logistics, and medical support capabilities for the Department’s operational bureaus, thereby enhancing the secretary’s ability to protect American citizens overseas in connection with overseas evacuations in the aftermath of a natural or man-made disaster.'” the Beacon reported.

  • The US handed Afganistan to the Chinese for rare earth minerals. This mass migration is part of the deal.

  • Where was this when the Trump pull out was in play? Nowhere.

She’s trying to save grandpa’s bacon and posture for votes.

Troll. But she’ll win thanks to Prop 2

  • How about signing an agreement to fast track getting out the thousands of stranded US Citizens before they are beheaded by the Taliban….!

    • Exactly. They’re still playing gender politics when we have US citizens in harm’s way due to this administration’s complete lack of leadership. Our government has told US citizens they’re on their own and won’t help them get to Kabul airport or any other extraction point and she’s worried about Afghan women and children. She’s utter garbage. Really looking forward to trash day in November ’22.

  • And…. what of the oppressed and endangered millions of women in the rest of the world? Somalia, Sudan, Zimbabwe, N Korea, China, Pakistan, Saudi, etc, etc. How about India with its women suffering under the caste system? Where does this slippery slope end? Please lay out constitutional justification for rescuing the victimized women throughout the world.

    • She’s scavenging votes and trying to save her bacon. Cut her some slack

    • There’s a man in Oregon whose wife and daughter are stuck in Afghanistan right now and he’s frantic trying to get help for them. Why this isn’t Murkowski’s focus is beyond me. Can Murkowski explain why this woman and her daughter less worthy somehow? What happens if this woman and her daughter become hostages for the Taliban? Why isn’t this more important to anyone in leadership right now? Their inaction and near complete silence is baffling to me. How can they not care about their own?
      .
I agree with you. We cannot take every oppressed refuge from every oppressive country around the world. I’m really tired of our idiots in D.C. putting American citizens last as they try to score virtue signaling points with each other. I’m disgusted by the lot of them. More and more I feel D.C. is a giant toilet that just needs flushed.

  • So Conservatives are worried about Afgan women (because they feel it is politically expedient) but don’t care one bit about Latina women being raped on the Southern border (because they think it is politically expedient). GOT IT!!!

    • Are you implying that Murkowski is a conservative?

    • Theresa, among the many reasons for stopping the invasion of illegal aliens across the southern boarder is the sex trafficking which is occurring, not to mention the flow of disease and reprehensible individuals.

In point of fact, it has consistently been conservatives who have been making noise about the treatment of women in islamic controlled nations. The national organization of woman has not fussed at all, nor do feminists in general.

      Conservatives are not your enemy.

  • It is interesting this letter is 95% Socialist buddies of Lisa’s. Hmm nothing related to Christian women in that list. Nothing in the letter that the National Organization of Women NOW or as Rush like to say National Association of Gals (NAG Gang), or Planned Parenthood.
Oh, I’m sure the likes of Chucky Boy Schumer will lambast the Republicans for not being on the letter. I’m sure if they had been asked and they wanted protecting, Christen Women and others that believe in Christian values vs Sharia Law, that the letter would have been denied.
For all the good it will do, since Sippy Cup Joe will have zero impact on what the terrorists/Rapist killers the Taliban do. I saw this morning they agreed to treat women as to Sharia Law, they call that humanitarianism in response to Sippy Cups call for human rights of women.
I hate to have to even go here, but Lisa is all for the LBGTQXYZ, yet not a word about the boys that get sodomized by the Taliban either.

  • NO! This rush is how terrorists will infiltrate the US. The “hurry up” approach is a time tested strategy of many con men/women…do they think the Taliban, ISIS, and Al Qaeda aren’t going to take advantage of this chaos? I have a problem with ANY Afghans, male or female, being lifted out to “freedom” when they REFUSED to fight for it. We’re ending up with ‘run away’ cowards. This doesn’t help them or us.

  • Hey murkowski, you complete waste of oxygen, what about the 15,000 American citizens trapped there???

  • Chamberlain had Hilter sign a letter too!!!!!!

    • Chamberlain was a fool. So was Hitler. Hitler should have abided by the agreement and bought himself some time. And two or three more years he’d have had us all speaking German. The real fools are the British people. After Churchill saved their butt by getting us into the war, they voted him out of office. They’ll be voting communist before too long.

  • And the 🐐 virgins

  • Wouldn’t it have been better to tell the Afghans that we can no longer protect you from the Taliban? And then created an orderly process by which we would relocate those who needed to leave?

    • That’s what we did. The president took a bunch of our money and hit the road. Everybody started looking out for themselves like the fall of the Nazi regime. No leadership.

  • So a bunch of Afghanistan women and children are under threat of losing their human rights and even their lives to a repressive regime.
    Is that our problem?
Is America the knight on the white horse responsible for making sure that every man, woman and child on the planet gets an opportunity to live the American Dream, at taxpayer expense, because they let their respective countries get so screwed up that they don’t want to live there any longer?
Are all the Afghans who worked with us now wards of the American State that we’re responsible for?
The citizens of Afghanistan…in total…allowed their country to become what it is.
    It’s their problem…not our problem.
Our problem with Afghanistan is that it was a haven for terrorism.
We should have bombed them to rubble and then left them to suffer.
We should never have rebuilt their country or installed their leaders or tried to Westernize them.
When will Americans learn to leave everyone else alone to live as they wish as long as they leave us alone to live as we wish? Never, I suspect.
When another nation attacks us we should destroy them as a lesson to the rest of the world…and that’s it.
Where they go from there is not our business or our responsibility.
Leave the Afghans…all if them…in their own country to enjoy the fruits of their own actions and decisions.
Maybe they’ll learn the lessons they need to learn.
One thing is certain…if we bail them out with free transport to our country followed up with, undoubtedly, generous handouts and eventual citizenship they’ll never learn anything except how to live large at our expense.

    • They never had a chance. We’re going to take care of them because we promised we would and right now even the media is on biden’s ass so you can bet your sweet bippy that it’s going to happen. This sounds like it was a little before your time but when the Russians were invading. We gave the Taliban stinger missiles to shoot down those big helicopters and jets. The Taliban used to be our allies because as you know the enemy of my enemy is my friend and it always has been. Hell we were in bed with Stalin.

      • Before my time…right, idiot…you don’t know a single thing about me so stop assuming. Just makes you look even more like a fool.

  • Of course Lisa wants to import more refugees. It will only add to her voter base. That, plus Dominion and Rank Choice Voting will guarantee victory

  • Commenters: So much disrespect toward children that I am surprised. Yes, you fear immigration and don’t want them to enter the US. You can make this point without the need to speak of children around the world so cruelly, flippantly, and hatefully.

  • Those poor women and girls will be waiting for their departure until the world sees the next catastrophic humbling terror act against America. There are still men and their families waiting for their immigration papers to be approved. What about the Afghan soldiers and their families who fought alongside American soldiers? I’d guess Afghan soldiers would have more priority than women and girls who didn’t.

  • Why do they want to bring them here? I hear daily how awful the US is, racism, sexism, homophobic, income equality, we pollute….the list goes on and on. Seems to me they would be better off staying put.

    • If they stay put they can look forward to being raped repeatedly. Now I know Detroit is a bad place, but it’s probably a damn site better than Afghanistan.

  • Fast track ending abortion.

  • Yet another politician committed to pandering to fear and giving away free stuff!

Becoming an illegal immigrant sounds very promising in USA Inc.

We do not need more people who will not stand up for themselves, we have enough in our homeland as it is.

  • I have two questions why doesn’t Lisa go lead the charge out of Afghanistan, sure she’d do a bang up job – or why are you and Dan so stupid that you support idiots and people selling out America. You know Joe needs his 20 percent

  • We can send them to Chicago! Then they’ll be like, “wait, this place is worse than the one we left.” Send them to Canada?

  • Schumer wants them for his Human Trafficking club and Murkowski is helping him. What about the trapped Americans? Oh, that’s right, you don’t care about them do you? Murkowski, you are a joke! Please resign your seat and save Alaskan’s the trouble of voting you out in 2022. Kelly Tsbaka 2022!
