    • It’s beginning to look like “Sleeping Lady” from West to East, as seen from Anchorage. Just about getting to her forehead now.

    • Social distancing bends the curve and relieves some pressure on our heroic medical professionals. But in order to shift off current policies, the key will be a robust system of testing and monitoring – something we have yet to put in place nationwide.

Something we have yet to put in place in Alaska.

      Kinda like that.

  1. Federal support and funding for community based testing sites will be pulled Friday.

Have you gotten tested? Know anyone who has?

Heard anything about providing testing for our population so we can figure out who can safely go back to work?

Cutting federal support for testing sites comes as states are clamoring for more testing, and as new milestones in the pandemic are crossed.

COVID-19 has taken just 43 days to blow past the deaths that the H1N1 pandemic generated in a year.

  2. Different age cohorts have different vulnerabilities to Covid-19, but nobody’s risk is zero.

Anybody can get sick in this pandemic.

To be clear, nobody should feel invulnerable to the coronavirus.

Young people are going to contract the disease, a not-insignificant percentage of them are going to get very sick, and a smaller number will die.

The rates of severe and deadly cases might not be nearly as high as the older generations that we are worried about, but the data already show that age alone does not make you invincible.
