(1-minute read) REP. GERAN TARR SPENT THREE DAYS CALLING SCHOOL

Rep. Geran Tarr was busy on social media this week, tarnishing the reputation of Covington Catholic High School of Kentucky, and the student who politely stood his ground while being verbally harassed during a March for Life rally.

The Alaska House of Representatives has not yet gotten to work because there is no leadership caucus in charge, but Tarr kept herself busy writing her opinion on the incident, which falsely portrayed the students as racists. The video clip went viral on social media and news organizations picked it up as gospel, without having seen sections of the video that led up to the part that appeared to make the students look like the aggressors.

The Catholic high school reopened today under heavy police protection after being closed for two days due to the hundreds of death threats against the students. Today, the school was evacuated after a suspicious package was sent to the school.

But Tarr was having none of it, writing out her frustration over not being able to talk with someone at the school to register her complaint from Alaska.

Later in the social media exchange, Tarr says that the student targeted by leftists for vilification “scares” her.

“I look at that young man and he scares me,” Tarr wrote on Facebook.

A chaperone for the students who attended the rally with them had a different perspective than Rep. Tarr.

Jill Hamlin told reporters that she believes they were targeted “for what they stood for.”  She said boys from the school were attending the rally, as the students do annually, when a group known as the Black Hebrew Israelites began hurling abusive language at them.

“I think they were targeted for what they stood for… which is Christianity, the right for life,” Hamlin told Fox News. “And they were singled out, and I believe, partially because of the color of their skin they were targeted.”

The Native American protester at the center of the storm led a group of his supporters as they attempted to enter the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. during evening Mass on Saturday.

The demonstrators were stopped by shrine security they attempted to gain entry into the church during worship and the doors had to be locked to keep them out. They maintained their drumming and chanting outside the church.

“It was really upsetting,” the guard told Catholic News Service. “There were about 20 people trying to get in, we had to lock the doors and everything.”

The guard said the incident was a disappointment during a busy and joyful weekend for the shrine.

“We had hundreds and hundreds of people from all over the country come here to celebrate life, to celebrate each other together. That a protest tried to come inside during Mass was really the worst.”

  1. I have followed this incident (‘confrontation’ between the boy and the elder) from the beginning. I wanted to slap the boys face…but then I found out the truth. Between the hours of video that is online and the ever-changing story of that lying old man I am outraged. I truly now believe in Trump Derangement Syndrome and it looks like Rep. Tarr suffers from it. We should not be quiet about this incident, which the media is still not apologized for. Now Tarr needs to apologize.

  2. If this is the kind of thing that occupies Rep. Tarr’s thoughts and time, then I pity the people she is supposed to be representing in the Alaska House of Representatives.

  3. Mrs Downing, when did you capture the image of her offending comments? Your report is righteous and just only if Ms Tarrs comments are relatively fresh. The original false narrative became popular on Saturday. By Sunday, the truth and extended videos of the events started trickling out. There were many who misspoke, including some conservatives, before enough was known to cast doubt on the original story. My take is: If these statements were shared Sunday or earlier, she may have been victim to the media con-job, like many others. By Monday however, enough facts were known that, people should have spoken with caution about these events. I do recognize that there are some intellectually dishonest people STILL pushing the false narrative, and they should be ASHAMED of themselves.

    • They are fresh as of yesterday. She is arguing with people right now on Facebook about their criticism of her, and admits those were her comments that she made because she is upset at the events.

      • Thank you…. that is just shameful… I have friends that fell into that same trap, and most have deleted their original comments and made statements supporting this young man. But I still see some that you just have to shake your head and say a prayer for them.

  4. Funny how many Caucasian’s, like Rep. Tarr, so quickly jump on the bash white people band wagon! Poor example for a Rep.

  5. I often am thankful that I don’t have Geran Tarr representing me in the State House. Then, I remember I have Chris Tuck… sigh.

  6. It is readily apparent that Representative Tarr has a strong dislike for anyone who is a Christian. That is just too bad for her. Does she support the hate group Black Hebrew Israelites?

  7. It worries me that this woman claims to be an educator. She obviously lacks basic thinking skills. The original reporting on this incident was discredited rather quickly & the mainstream media issued retractions quickly when cellphone videos surfaced exonerating the children.

  8. Don’t worry Geran, keep it up on Twitter and I’m sure Robert Barnes will be calling you. Nick Sandmann is a private citizen and the standard for libel is less than you might hope for.

The cognitive dissonance is strong with this one.

  9. The governor wants to regain the trust of the people, well here’s a place to start, she intentionally bashed knowing that it wasn’t the truth and theses students live in fear because of an Alaskan government official

  10. Rep. Tarr,
You are an embarrassment to the teaching profession and government representatives. I feel bad for the poor fools that support you. Thank you for not being in my district.

  11. She looks at that young man and she is scared? So, does that mean it is an appearance issue? You should never, ever, make a judgement on someone’s appearance, now should you Ms. Tarr? Be careful Rep. Tarr. Be very, very careful.

  12. Wow,
The “Thought Police” are very active on both sides of the political spectrum these days.
The problem with FB and various social media platforms is that the “public” and “private” life have been lost to a sea of dysfunctional criticism.
Instead of sharing your thoughts with family and friends, you toss out “thought balloons” for the whole world to pop out of the sky.
Days will be spent debating a situation in which no one was injured, yet military operations continue with active bombing campaigns in 9 foreign countries.
It is truly a game of “smoke and mirrors” for media response these days…

  13. Ms. Tarr showed her classless self during the Governors state of the state address. I saw all I needed to see and I thank goodness she does not represent me.
