New House rules for feds: No reference to gender allowed

The new 117th U.S. House of Representatives will vote on a new set of rules Monday that take virtue signaling to the next level: The Federal government will no longer refer to the Founding Fathers.

Nor any fathers or mothers, for that matter.

Also, anything with the word “man” attached to it is neutered. In prayer, Rep. Emanuel Cleaver concluded the opening prayer for 117th Congress with “Amen and Awomen.” Cleaver, who is a pastor, evidently believes that “Amen” is a reference to men, when in fact it is derived from Greek and Hebrew and means “truly” or “it is so.” It was also used by ancient Egyptians as a name for the Egyptian god of the sun and air, who was Lord of all creation.

The rules will penalize House members or employees of the House for passing along on social media anything that the leadership deems to be “fake news.” That would include, quite likely, memes or items from the comic site Babylon Bee, which traffics in funny fake political and social commentary news.

The House will prohibit reference to “seamen” for sailors or seafarers, and abbreviate “chairman” to chair.

The body will also prohibit legal references in federal code to family roles and genders, such as father, mother, son, daughter, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, first cousin, nephew, niece, husband, wife, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in- law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, stepfather, step- mother, stepson, stepdaughter, stepbrother, stepsister, etc.

Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Rules Committee Chairman James P. McGovern announced new rules for the 117th Congress, which will be introduced and voted on during regular session on Monday.

The House will establish an Office of Diversity and Inclusion.

The proposed changes are to reflect “the views and values of the full range of our historically diverse House Democratic Majority,” Pelosi said in a joint statement with Rules Chairman McGovern.

The new rules would also remove floor privileges for any former members convicted of crimes related to their House service or election and make it a violation of the Code of Official Conduct for a member, officer, or employee of the House to disclose the identity of a whistleblower.

  1. Every time the Libs do something that makes me shake my head and wonder what they’ll do next they come up with something else that makes me shake my head and wonder what they’ll do next.

  2. Nothing they do comes as much of a surprise anymore…There seems to be NO common sense anymore….

    • Unbelievable what is deemed important by our elected officials.
Thousands of people dying from covid, jobs lost, homes being foreclosed and businesses that are gone forever, and all they are working on is what language we use to address our mothers and fathers. Sorry I meant parent.

  3. This what universities have been pushing for the past three decades….
Women’s Studies, Gender and Transgender Studies, Alternative Sexual Studies, Racial Studies, etc…etc.
Now it’s taught in the grade schools.
The destruction of our social system.

  4. I’m with Dave. I sent a letter as well asking him to literally stand up in Congress and protest this b.s. or resign. It’s getting really old not hearing our reps taking a vocal stand against this continual insanity. (I never include Murk because she’s a complete mess.)

  5. Guess we can’t tell Nancy to grow a pair and stand up to this nonsense…
The penalizing of whistleblower identity violation concerns me – any liar can charge anyone with anything and remain completely hidden and unaccountable – they can’t even question (pronoun omitted). This will normalize Full-of-Schiff. It will also neuter any possible Republican opposition to the dictates of the radical left.
The rest of it is just insanity hiding as the product of the rear end of a (sex reference omitted) steer. And the world wonders why we can’t communicate with each other…

  6. They are ushering in the ‘golden calf’ marked as LGBTQ+ preparing the people to bow down in ‘worship’ of the name.
Homosexuality is a sin. Its no different than Mayor Berkowitz and his sexual immorality eventbough he is a healthy male doing it with women and maybe girls? however, we and the church grown accepting to not see what Quinn, Rivera, and Constant do as not sexually immoral. Its not okay to have an adulterous politician but its okay to have a gay politician?

  7. Guess I need to add: The Ministry of Truth has arrived, and it is controlled by the democratic “leadership” – they get to determine what is “fake news” and they get to control the narrative. Dissent will be punished. So much for the freedom of speech.

  8. Looks like my snarky sarcastic first post didn’t make it past the Akismet censor bot… So I’ll try to tone it down a bit.
Guess now we can’t tell Pelosi to stand up to the radical freaks – our complaint will be labelled “fake news” and we will get spanked by the thought police. No one but the democrat “leadership” can label anything “fake news” without penalty. Any liar who accuses another – no matter how agregious the prevarication – is now protected from any questioning or accountability since revealing who (pronoun omitted) are is prohibited. This is congress___ Schiff’s dream full of. No more right to face one’s accuser in a court of law. No more free speech (unless you’re a d leader). This is the end of any opposition to the radical left, and the end of America. Looks like the CCP won.
    Enough of this nonsense.

  9. More New World Order directives. How long will We the People put up with this cancel culture; assault on family and 1st Amendment Rights? Plandemic needs to end and China and Globalists must be held accountable! Voter fraud must be revealed at all levels and immoral leaders need to also be held accountable.

    • Kevin. I believe Orwell also said, ” a people who elect corrupt candidates, thieves, imposters and traitors are not to be viewed as victims, but accomplices “

  10. Just wondering if by this act the Congress will become a personal pronoun free zone? Following their logic it sure looks that way.

  11. And yet, now the news sites capitalize “Black” and “White” when they’re merely average adjectives describing someone’s hair color. (Should I say I have Brown eyes?)

This seems like a great way to diss the Founding Fathers and the family unit in general, and perhaps even mask political activities that involve families. (Can anyone say Hunter Biden, for example?)

Otherwise, such declarations are clearly a waste of time and only serve to further divide people, as I, for one, will NOT follow their silly rules.

  12. Well, buried in that House Resolution is one small favorable sentence. It claims to attempt to ensure that COVID-19 funds are spent without fraud or profiteering. I hope that’s true. The Prudhoe oil service companies raked in countless millions in COVID money last summer whether they were operating profitably or not.

  13. Indisputable evidence that the Democrat party is totally consumed by identity politics. This will work as long as the groups think that they can benefit. It will fail when folks figure out that creating a benefit for one group will disadvantage some or all of the others. It is not much more than a suicide pact for the country.

  14. Must sure be exhausting, living ones whole miserable life to the very end, with the ultimate goal of having total control over every last detail of others lives, which is what Pelosi has devoted her life to.
Wait till they hand these rules down our way, and all the little whistle blower neighbours can tattle on you, and me. Time to learn a foreign language so one can speak freely again.

  15. Wikipedia:
AMEN is an Abrahamic declaration of affirmation[1] first found in the Hebrew Bible, and subsequently in the New Testament.[2] It is used in Jewish, Christian and Islamic worship, as a concluding word, or as a response to a prayer.[1] Common English translations of the word amen include “verily”, “truly”, and “so be it”. It is also used colloquially, to express strong agreement.[1

    Don’t see anything about ‘gender’.

  16. Depersonalizing and removal of free speech in law, minutes after taking an oath to uphold and defend the constitution. Brings to mind the novella “Anthem” by Ayn Rand.

  17. Just when you think it couldn’t get any more insane, leftists come up with another, more insane edict! So much time spent trying to dehumanize us. What is their ultimate goal? The democrat party is truly the party of satan.

  18. Do they know that Amen is not a gender pronoun? Maybe do some research. It is a Hebrew derivative that actually means “so be it.” The word has absolutely NOTHING to do with men vs women.

  19. Only an immature idiot would get offended because a term in common use (chairman or founding fathers) is used.
Seriously, if you are so thin skinned that you have to tell people your preferred pronouns you have no place in adult society.

  20. What’s going on? What country are we living in? What happened to the United States? When will I wake up from this terrible nightmare?

  21. I can’t even find words to describe my reaction to this ridiculous new (action?) by congress. Hopeless for our country comes to mind as only one of many. What is apparent is that the charge that congress was doing nothing when so many valid causes beg to be addressed is not true. They were doing this. Is there any pressure on Congress ti show benefit for actions like this?

  22. Does this mean that AOC is no longer the youngest woman elected to the House anymore? She, errr…. sorry… The Representative is not even close to being the youngest elected Representative. Several years senior to that title in fact.
