The State of Alaska’s data dashboard shows 825 new positive diagnoses of Covid-19 in Alaska for Thursday. That’s down from 842 the previous day, or 17 fewer cases, and a 2 percent drop day over day.

There are currently 186 people in Alaska hospitals with Covid, up from 180 on Wednesday.

27 new Covid-19 hospitalizations have been logged since Oct. 1 and the death of 10 Alaskans have been attributed to Covid this month.

See the daily Covid count dashboard here.

105 of the 119 adult intensive care beds in Alaska are full — with patients of all kinds, not just Covid, up from 95 the day before.

760 out of 1,110 non-ICU beds across the state are full, with a capacity of 319 available.

See the hospital dashboard here.

30 people in Alaska hospitals are on ventilators, a drop from 38 earlier this week, or a 21 percent decrease.

The overall percentage of Covid-infected patients in Alaska hospitals has leveled out, and is now at 18.8 percent, a slight increase from Wednesday, when it was 18.5 percent of all patients.

90 beds in Anchorage hospitals are now occupied by Covid-positive patients, down from 119 on Sept. 23.

See the hospital bed availability dashboard here.

Since Oct. 1, 2021, 27 Alaskans have been admitted to hospitals for treatment of Covid.

A total of 116,367 Covid tests in Alaska have yielded positive results since March of 2020, when the virus was first recognized in the state.

355,531 Alaskans have been fully vaccinated.

  1. WHAT?!?… COVID cases continue to decline… without ANY action from the assembly… looks like AO2021-91 is just a fine example of government overreach/ overreaction and a colossal waste of the people’s time.

  2. For those wanting to know the vaccinated vs unvaccinated counts, the information is in the weekly report. From Sept 26 until October 2 there were 7,242 new covid cases 1,686 (23%) were vaccine breakthroughs, there were 109 new hospitalizations 16 (15%) of which were vaccine breakthroughs, and fatalities increased by 26, 1 (4%) of which was a vaccine breakthrough.
    .
58.6% of Alaskans 12 and older have been fully vaccinated.

    • Were there any natural immunity breakthroughs registered in any of those numbers? And how many people as a percentage have natural immunity?

      • Lawrence,
I found some of the information you’ve asked about in a report called Hospitalizations, Deaths, and Vaccine Breakthrough Infections it says:
        .
“A total of 884 SARS-CoV-2 reinfections were documented among Alaska residents since the beginning of the pandemic. Six persons were reinfected twice (i.e., counted as a case 3 times). In July and August 2021, the incidence of COVID-19 in persons without a prior documented history of SARS-CoV-2 infection was 4.1 times higher (95% CI: 3.8, 4.5) than the incidence in persons with a history of infection. The estimated incidence rate ratios were similar regardless of the number of days since infection (Figure 6). The evidence also suggests that a prior infection is protective against subsequent COVID-19 hospitalization (IRR: 0.12), though small numbers preclude precise estimates.
        .
Of the 87,836 Alaska residents with at least 1 documented case of COVID-19, 27,938 became fully vaccinated after their first infection. In July and August 2021 among persons aged ≥12 years with a prior history of COVID-19, the incidence of COVID-19 reinfection was 24% higher among persons who were unvaccinated compared to those who were fully vaccinated (IRR: 1.2, 95% CI: 1.0, 1.5). The number of hospitalizations and deaths due to reinfections was too small to reliably assess an effect of vaccination, though the available evidence is suggestive that vaccination confers additional protection in persons who have been previously infected: 5 hospitalizations that occurred due to reinfection cases in July and August were in unvaccinated persons (incidence rate: 2.6 per 1 million person-days) and 1 was in a fully vaccinated person (incidence rate: 0.66 per 1 million person-days). Likewise, of the 2 COVID-19 deaths in persons with a prior infection, both were unvaccinated.”

  3. Now we know why the liberal legislature has been badgering the gov to call for a state of emergency. Bail out the Anchorage assemblies mask mandate, soon followed by a vaxx mandate. Bad news for all of them, Wuhaun part 2 has run its course, like seasonal flu.

  4. Doesn’t matter. The Assembly rules Anchorage.

This was never, ever, about Covid. It was about keeping the sheep in their pens.

  5. From the State of Alaska Covid dashboard as of this morning…
    .
    Total cases to date: 116,367
Total hospitalizations: 2,524 or 2.2% of total cases
Total deaths: 570 or 0.49% of total cases
    .
    Alaska population: 728,903
Hospitalizations as a percentage of population: 0.3%
Deaths as a percentage of population: 0.078%
    .
The case numbers don’t break out resident versus non-resident but you get the general idea.
As a member of the general public you have about a 0.3% chance of ending up in the hospital with Covid and about a 0.078% chance of dying.
    .
Weigh these odds against the risks involved with getting injected with an mRNA gene therapy drug that was rushed to market by skipping the standard safety testing clinical trials.
    .
Anyone who feels scared and panicked over Covid just isn’t understanding the situation but the numbers don’t lie.

  6. What about normal flu cases? How many of those? Did COVID kill the normal annual, mutating flu? Where are the bodies being stacked up? Neither masks nor vaccines are affecting the normal course of a disease in any meaningful way. Diseases take a course, and they take lives. The difference is, the government and the media have taken normal, fluctuating, annual death counts that happen every year, and combined them with normal comorbidities that kill people all the time, and pumped it into the ears and eyes of people that don’t naturally think about what is the normal death rate every year. So they become hysterical because they have always believed what the media and the government tells them. The government is desperately trying to maintain control with their lies and their lies are showing them to be fools and they are instead destroying their own credibility.

    • So much here that has been thoroughly debunked.
      .
Let’s just look at the rough mortality numbers.
      2015: 2,700,000
      2016: 2,700,000
      2017: 2,800,000
      2018: 2,800,000
      2019: 2,900,000
      2020: 3,400,000
That’s a 16% increase year over year from 2019 to 2020, the next largest increase in the historical record was from 1917 to 1918, the year of the Spanish Flu. Those are the only double digit increases in the historical record.
      .
But of course it’s all lies so it doesn’t matter anyways.

  7. I’m really sorry to report that the numbers on Friday were back above 900 cases. And even higher on Saturday— 1059 cases. So maybe celebrating a one day drop in Covid cases may be imprudent, if not foolish.
