California issued a new mask mandate this week: Whenever California’s are outside their own homes, they must wear face masks any time when they are within six feet of someone else. The new order also requires restaurant diners to wear masks when their servers approach their tables, even if they are chewing their food.

Exceptions include:

  • Persons in a car alone or with members of their own household, no non-household members in car.
  • Persons who are working in an office or in a room alone.
  • Persons who are actively eating or drinking provided that they are able to maintain a distance of at least six feet away from persons who are not members of the same household or residence.
  • Persons who are outdoors and maintaining at least 6 feet of social distancing from others not in their household.  Such persons must have a face covering with them at all times and must put it on if they are within 6 feet of others who are not in their household.
  • Persons who are obtaining a service involving the nose or face for which temporary removal of the face covering is necessary to perform the service.
  • Workers who are required to wear respiratory protection.
  • Persons who are specifically exempted from wearing face coverings by other CDPH guidance.

The expanded order is here.

California’s number of of COVID-19 cases has doubled in the last two weeks, with 13,609 new cases reported on Nov. 16.

Gov. Gavin Newsom has ordered 41 of California’s 58 counties to close down indoor dining, distilleries, and breweries, as well as bars that don’t serve food.

Alaska Gov. Mike Dunleavy has not ordered masks on Alaskans, but has strongly suggested people wear them when around others, within six to 10 feet. The mayor of Anchorage has mandated masks on everyone, including schoolchildren.

  1. Does Gavin Newsom keep doing “crazy” to appear that he is relevant? Every time he does this, another Californian moves to Alaska, or Montana, or Idaho, or….. We have got to stop this madness before they take us over!

    • They already are and already have been, for decades. And they spread their politics! Complete disconnect that their politics and how they vote are the reasons for the mess. They move, and bring it along. I am sure there are those that don’t but they are the minority. One only needs to look at Oregon and Washington, and now what is indeed happening here. There are actually maps that show migration of Californians across the country and how those states are affected. Sorry former Californians if I offend. If you are reading this, voted conservative, then praise God. You are one of not many.

  2. Yet another good reason to stay out of California as if you needed any more. They’re stupid motorcycles are allowed to drive down between cars when the freeway is congested and they are allowed to pass cars in between two cars that are running parallel. This sounds dangerous to me but whoever said Californians had any common sense?

    • I totally agree, California is like a 3rd world country. Anything goes, no rules are enforced. And California has the most stupid drivers there are.

  3. Now that shots are available how about those who are in the medical field get the first round of shots and then those who are the most vulnerable. Then no more mandates. If you can save 95% of the vulnerable then you have met your objective. Now we will have to track those that get hit by a bus under the new measurements of those with antibodies upon death. As long as the hospitals are not filled with critical covid folks who are in need breathing assistance then we have met the mark. Masks are not that effective, otherwise it would have not spread so fast so far. Treat and help the sick but masks requirements need to go away fast after the vulnerable immunized or the illness has reached its peak and failed away.

    • “While there are people who’ve yet to be vaccinated ALL mask mandates will continue to be enforced.”
      .
This will be the rationale to NOT relinquish ANY control.

  4. California governor Newsom was just busted breaking his own rules. Newsom, most of California state medical board, a bunch of democrat politicians and a few dozen rich friends held a birthday party in California. No masks, no social distancing, sitting shoulder to shoulder (I saw the pictures) and having a good old time. In the meantime, just out as ‘breaking news’. No Thanksgiving, church, meetings, open businesses, loss of jobs, more masks, lockdowns, same old BS for the citizens. Enforceable by legal authorities, cutting utilities, including water, to the ‘offending’ property, fines, even jail for being at any party like the great gov. Newsom and friends just threw. Law doesn’t count for them. Sound familiar, Anchorage citizens? Your newest leftist “leadership” is just getting under way. Give it a couple months. Now will seem like a picnic. This is how communism works. Elites have it all, citizens have nothing. Elections have consequences.

  5. The rules for Liberals in elected office has always been the same. ” Do as we say but not as we do.” They never want to abide by their own rules, laws, mandates, etc. That’s why they’re always very wealthy,, live extravagant lifestyles, have walled mansions with armed security, and basically live like kings off the taxpayer. Nothing will ever change with these people.
