Biden Administration places ‘harmful language’ warning on U.S. Constitution at National Archives catalog

The National Archives catalog has placed warnings on founding documents of the United States, telling researchers and viewers that the language contained in them may be found harmful.

One such warning is shown above the U.S. Constitution.

See National Archives warning verbiage at this link.

According to the warning, items in the National Archive may:

  • reflect racist, sexist, ableist, misogynistic/misogynoir, and xenophobic opinions and attitudes;
  • be discriminatory towards or exclude diverse views on sexuality, gender, religion, and more;
  • include graphic content of historical events such as violent death, medical procedures, crime, wars/terrorist acts, natural disasters and more;
  • demonstrate bias and exclusion in institutional collecting and digitization policies.

The National Archives says its mission is to preserve and provide access to the permanent records of the federal government. It also appears to not want to trigger anyone and will go to great lengths to avoid offending people.

In doing so, it has raised the ire of several commenters underneath the copy of the Constitution in the Archives online catalog:

Is there a good reason that there is a “Harmful Language Alert” at the top of this document? I can only assume the Three-fifths Compromise and even that has been remedied by Amendments thereafter.

Are you serious?!? You put a “Harmful Language Alert” at the top of the CONSTITUTION?? You should be ashamed of yourselves. Every one of you should be fired and replaced with someone who actually loves this country. Why are my taxes paying the salaries of people who hate the USA and feel like they have to apologize for everything in its history? Why are you pandering to the people who have to look for a reason to be offended? SHAME ON YOU!

There are very few people who live in the United States who are going to be truly and honestly insulted or injured by the language of this sacred document! And if they are offended, they are not TRUE AMERICANS! Get rid of this “Harmful Language Alert”, you snowflakes! You do not speak for the majority of us. Shame on You!

The committee & management responsible for the “Harmful Language Alert” – need to be fired and replaced with adults. They appear incapable of making a rational decision. Once more Americans find out about the alert, you will be forced to take it down I have no doubt. SHAME, SHAME ON YOU.

I served almost three decades in the Army and I am a retired Paratrooper and combat veteran. I swore an oath to “support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic” that has no expiration date. I have friends that have paid the ultimate sacrifice in doing this. I’m offended by the warning at the top of this page. It craps on all of us who has ever sworn this oath. Shame on you!!!

  1. Just when we thought it couldn’t get anymore ridiculous! The Left have lost their way, and their identity is in question, all the way to the top. They can’t get out of their own way!

  2. Administrator Jiden has been loquacious about his concerns about getting in trouble. If only the press would inform the public who the foreign handlers are who are now orchestrating these foreign commands to the American administrator. The foreign handlers should be getting in trouble. Oh why did the Dems “vote” (or something) for this administrator anyways.

  3. The most harmful language to a totalitarian government could be the ninth amendment, that’s the one where you the individual retains all rights not expressly enumerated to the Federal Government within the Constitution, (I mean who really has time to establish Post Roads or negotiate treaties with the Kingdom of Saxony anyway?). The document constrains government to a few confined areas. James Madison was not in favor of the first ten amendments because he thought that people might construe them to being their only rights!
    Read the Documents and the debates that the founders had when forming this magnificent road map to liberty! Good Lord it’s no wonder the fascist in charge want to stop you from reading it.

  4. WE need more than a list of comments removed we need people removed this bunch of hate America nut jobs need to go live in some other country,…..

  5. The president take an oath, this is part of it, “will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States”. He has broken that oath and should be impeached immediately.

  6. This is treason. This will also be used to prevent anyone in public “education” from ever studying the U.S. Constitution – to further brainwash the minds of our youth. I’m appalled.

  7. Wow. What’s really sad is how many have never read or taken the time to understand our founding documents. People crying about their freedoms and liberties and rights that know not what they are or where they came from. Now we have people running this country who hate it and want to remove these precious founding documents from the sight of the few people who actually take the time to read and understand them.

  8. In case anyone missed it this so called President is performing to the best of his ability-chaotic Socialism. They need to be called out, not called the Left. Fire and replace everyone involved in this heinous abuse of power since they’re too cowardly to stand up for the same rights they trample over. Make THEM serve like we did, they wouldn’t last a week.

  9. If someone was trying to be more destructive to this Country as the President, would you have done it any differently for the last 9 months. Our President is a traitor to his own Country! How long must this go on?!

  10. I think that a document that refers to people as worth 3/5ths of a person DOES WARRANT having a trigger warning. Yes, that’s the original U.S. Constitution. Fortunately, amended. And we should be HAPPY that citizens in the USA have the ability to think through things like this, amended the doc as needed, and discuss it as we see fit. Civilly I do hope. And NOT by illegally storming the capitol as happened January 6.
